THIS. IS. KAISOOS. YEAR.

inspired by this awesome fic by theprinceandagcd on ao3!!!!

Hudson Williams on SiriusXM
About Connor: "He's an awful texter so not great in that way. But we'll just facetime each other. Or call each other randomly, very consistently. That has sort of been my stability especially through this. It's just having my best friend who is in the same position as I am."
About the team Canada fleece Shane wears at the Olympics: "I was trying to steal that and then I forgot to ask the wardrobe to give it to me at the end and I really wanted it. It's still my only regret from season 1. My only regret is not getting that fleece."
About Shane's coming out scene: "Some people don't have the benefit of having parents that maybe would be as supportive as his parents were. Even with his parents there's a degree of like clinical-ness to it I think. It's like what about Reebok, it's not the perfect open arms. But I hope that people can take the feeling that you're not alone and that's not something that should be a fantasy. It should be just want you kind of deserve. And whether that is your parents or not that you deserve a community and a family really that just kinda put their arms around you and let you know that you deserve that."
About the s*x scenes: "Fold me in half, turn me into a pretzel, every position, we didn't hit enough. Hopefully in season 2 we can fix that."
About pasta: "Spaghetti sucks. Rigatoni is awful. I like a noodle or a penne noodle. Or fettuccine"
About the Snoopy edits: "Yeah, I've seen a lot of just me next to Snoopy. I don't know if Snoopy comes first or me but I'll do something and then they'll show Snoopy doing that exact thing. I'm like did you create that or am I just Snoopy. I love Snoopy."
About his family's reaction to the show: "They love it. My mum was an instant fan, my dad as well. I think some other distant family members were like "is it a hockey show?" and I was like "yeah!"
About the Golden Globes: "I'm so excited. I'm hopefully not gonna pee myself or something."
About the most challenging emotional scene to shoot: "The coming out to my mum scene was really tough. Because I wouldn't go about it that same way. If I had this really emotional moment with like my mother in real life it would be just like "I'm sad, I'm just gonna cry, you're just gonna hold me" but that's not their relationship. It's a little bit more sterile, a little bit more guarded. My mum would be like "keep crying, let's cry forever". So like the lack of eye contact and things like that were kind of deliberate and I didn't feel as released as I would want as Hudson but as Shane it made sense."
About people speculating on his private life: "I don't care. You can look at whatever I said, I don't care. But the other people in my life, they don't want to be broadcasted. I'm pretty chill about it. On a scale of freaking me out it's like a 2 out of 10. I'm kind of indifferent. There are going to be people who have crazy reactions to it, but those people can kinda go take a hike. Because the people who have a healthy reaction to it are the only people that I care about or really respect for having like a developed frontal cortex. The rest is just Neanderthals."
About his favourite episodes: "I like episode 5 and 6. I think they're the best ones."

Just found out you can change the kudos message on ao3 and honestly? Best day of my life
Every time you leave kudos on one of my fics, you’ll get one of these messages:
Working in vet med: client states that she does not want to purchase heartworm preventative because she does not believe in heartworms.
Still unsure what she means by this. Does she think heartworms do not exist? Does she have an objection to giving her dog preventative? Is she upset about Big Vet Pharma?
client: I don't need HWP, we live in a gated community
Me: I would LOVE to find any area free of mosquitoes in Minnesota.
I mean my favorite remains "I don't give heartworm prevention because my dog only goes outside at night, when mosquitoes aren't awake to bite her"
Having gone camping extensively in Minnesota this summer... and woken completely covered with literally over 20 mosquito bites... ma'am. Ma'am.
This is very cool and will have an immediate positive impact for families. Idea very much originated in Finland but great to see it spreading.
Baby boxes contain everything from clothing, nappies/diapers, books, thermometers, baby wraps, muslins, a changing mat, nursing pads, information for new parents, and condoms.
The box itself acts also as a bed for the baby to sleep in.
This is a wonderfull action and I hope for New Yorkers that they can enjoy it and that it does as much good as I've heard it does.
But the add of condoms ? lmao. "Cheers on making your baby. Don't make another." jkldkdlskdl
(Joke aside, it's probably a way ti remind young parents that they need to bond over the kid and release tension, for example through sex, but the wrong assumption was so much funnyer)
It does seem quite funny, but preventing a second pregnancy following a birth is exactly what they are for.
Fertility spikes postpartum so the baby box is packed with information and condoms so families avoid unexpected second pregnancies in the immediate aftermath.
Verified ✔️ condoms also help to prevent infections while the reproductive organs are healing. Birth causes a lot of trauma and an unclean peen visiting the pink queen can cause a lot of problems.
All hail the pink queen.
The left: if you ban abortions, they’ll just happen illegally
Also the left: if you ban guns, we will all be safe from gun violence
We literally have data to show this is what happens. Like we didn’t just pull this idea out of thin air.
People in abortion-prohibitive states or countries always find ways to end their pregnancy, even if that could mean they harm themselves or take their own lives while doing so.
People in countries with gun bans or restrictions hardly have any gun violence because they work. Look at Canada, harsh gun laws, hardly any mass shootings, and all done despite being literally attached to the Gun Capital of the World.
Please just do a little research and think.
If we ban guns, we will not "all" be safe from gun violence.
MOST OF US will be safe from gun violence. Including a great many children who are currently at risk of being shot at school - a place they are legally required to be - where they are not being protected by cops, who are not required to put themselves at risk to protect the public.
We are okay with the fact that gun bans will not stop every bit of gun violence, and will accept that they will just stop 90+% of the murders and accidental killings that currently happen because guns are legal and easy to get, including for people who have no training in using them safely, or a known record of violence against the people near them.
This.
And frankly, if we ban abortions, yeah, there will be a lot of people who instead have a child despite the medical threat, or undue burden. More adoptions may happen, but far more medical problems will happen and far more children will be raised by parents who can't afford them, can't manage them, and maybe even resent their existence, which is abysmally bad for the children, much less the adults involved.
And of course, no, banning abortion doesn't stop them entirely - and the ones people seek outside of safe, sanctioned environments are often deadly for the recipient, which is yet worse. The only "up-side" to banning abortion is that more [unwanted, unsupported] children are born, despite the consequences to existing adults.
So, in review:
The consequences of banning abortion are Bad, Also Bad, Very Bad, and Very Very Bad.
The consequences of banning guns are Good, Excellent, and No Worse Than It Was Anyway.
