So after making latex neck ridges a couple times I can safely tell you that it’s chewy but doesn’t make a noise. The cardassian will make a noise though

I've said this before but I would love a 10 episode "making of" type season of GBSB.
How many rounds of interviews are there to find the 12 sewers? What kind of challenges do they have in the initial application? Do they submit a portfolio or is everything depend on how they do in the challenge?
Do they get a stipend or a budget for the materials they use? It seems like the made to measure, they bring their own fabric - so are they buying it out of pocket?
Is each season filmed in 10 weeks straight or are they filming like, once or twice a month?
How far in advance to contestants get the briefs? It seems like they know all of them prior to filming, because I've heard some of them say "I just really wanted to make it to X week" or "I've practiced 10 times" (which suggests they had a lot of lead time, either because they know the schedule and/or there's a bit of breaks between filming)
And also how much detail is in each brief? Do they get examples or strict instructions on what not to do? (There's been times where I've misunderstood the briefs until I've seen what they actually make). It also looks like contestants submit a sort of outline? I swear I've glimpsed what looks like a standard worksheet, more structured than like a notebook or sketch. And sometimes they'll say "I'm not sure what I was thinking" or "idk why I thought this was a good idea" (which could mean, that now that they're seeing, they regret their idea, but sometimes it feels like they're a bit "locked in" to the specific pattern).
ALSO what tools can they bring from home??? I'd be using starch in every challenge, swapping out sewing feet left and right, using a flexible ruler to grade a crotch curve. To say nothing of having like 5 bobbins pre loaded. I get the feeling they aren't allowed to do most of those things though?
Truly I would love a full season where they answer my questions lol.
Interesting how Sewing Bee is doing international themes, compared to how Bake Off had to give up.
Bake Off, for some reason, decided that Paul Hollywood spending the research budget to sleep around in a resort in Mexico constitutes Mexican culinary expertise. (Sweet corn in bread? Hardly shocking, Paul.)
Sewing Bee brought in a third judge, which was fun, and he had the insight to tell between "Wikipedia skim" vs "creative interpretation."
It just rewards creativity. A judge with limited knowledge can only confidently reward the most superficial creations. Mexico is spicy, wow. The guest judge on Sewing Bee had actual opinions on the execution of superficial and insightful ideas.

something is going wrong for a sewer. they are bent over their machine looking very worried. the camera zooms in on their shaking hands. it is at this point that patrick or esme appears, raises an eyebrow, and walks off again

the winner of the transformation challenge WILL be the most impractical outfit of all time but it has impact so who cares. also it has a bow
when a garment looks amazing from afar and then one of the judges looks at the hemline and goes "oh"
writing an intimate scene between Julian Garak so often takes on the exact same outline stage 1: "I will not tell him anything private." (Proceeds to tell private thing.) Stage 2: "Oh, wow, emotional honesty is nice. No, wait, it's that other thing! Quick, change the subject!" Stage 3: "Oh, this new subject is much more comfortable. In fact I'm so comfortable that I find myself wanting to be emotionally honest. But I will not tell him anything private." (Proceeds to tell private thing.) (rinse and repeat)
you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.

I have many ideas for the Pride and Prejudice au like Garak being accused of stealing Dukat's fortune and his rightful position in the world when the exact opposite is true. But! I would love to brainstorm this with someone who knows Pride and Prejudice whether it be the movie or the book, and of course garashir. Tea and cookies will be provided!
