Chronically Ill Billy Kaplan Headcanons cause I'm dealing with a flare up and thus he must too:
He has chronic fatigue syndrome
The gloves of his costume are compression gloves to help with wrist and hand pain
He refers to his bad days as "going through the horrors" and his illnesses as "the witches curse" and more because he's dramatic like that
He brings a water bottle with him everywhere but always forgets he has it, leading to lots of headaches
He gets headaches and migraines. A lot.
Often times bad flare up days line up with bad depression days and bad anxiety days so he's just all around miserable
If his body is sick and tired, so is his magic, and it's never fun
He gets brain fog which gets in the way of his spells sometimes
Do not ask him to go outside when it's cold, his joints will hurt or he will catch a cold that lasts a month, he basically becomes a hermit from November to March
When he gets sick, he gets sick, and it takes him a while to kick it
Sometimes new issues pop up and he tries magicking them away but it rarely works
In fact, he's tried multiple times to wish away his pain and illnesses on bad days and it has yet to work (probably because he doesn't believe it'll stay gone)
He has however found a few spells that help, though the pain and illnesses are never truly gone
He has a cane to help with mobility issues on bad days but is very stubborn to use it
He decorates his cane to be galaxy themed and match his costume after a lot of pressing from his friends and teammates to make it look fun
When he doesn't want to use his cane, he'll have Teddy carry him (one of the many benefits of having a super strong boyfriend/husband)
He also wears body braces like knee braces and wrist braces when the joint pain gets really bad
He gets the worst flare ups after particularly stressful and busy missions and needs a few days to recover after
Loves a good heating pad, heated blanket, or hot water bottle, just anything warm on the joints
Don't ask him what his issues are, he doesn't know either, he just knows that it all hurts
The YA have been told by him that they're allowed to strong arm him into taking care of himself if he doesn't want to, though he'll claim he never told them to do that and acts annoyed when they do
