Something that happens to trans men and mascs when we come out is a sudden loss of support services we had when we were still perceived as women. Scholarships, housing, resources we might once have relied on for survival are now either barred from us or require us to endure subtle or overt misgendering in order to maintain access. Even for programs inclusive of all trans identities, it can require outing oneself which can be very dangerous for those forced to be stealth for survival. And unlike cis men, trans men and mascs do not have access to a lifetime of privileges afforded by the patriarchy. We may have had to cut contact with everyone we once knew, pick and choose who we interact with to prevent being outed and, in many cases, are very visibly trans regardless. We started out oppressed by the patriarchy, and now that we’ve transitioned we still are but now without access to resources that would be given to us unquestionably had we stayed “women”. It’s one of the biggest contributing factors to why ftm detransitioners are relatively more common, some people simply can’t afford to live their lives authentically when it means losing access to their means of survival.

But you simply must question what standards you are conforming to, what they uphold, how and why they were formed. If you don't, you've decided to sell your soul for comfort - and if you do this as a white person you are perpetuating evil in a way unique to the embracement of whiteness as a power class. Because it is your whiteness that allows your deep level conformity and disappearance into the system. Seeing other white trans people openly crave to be a cog in the machine is baffling and I have no sympathy for it. It feels childish to me. Transmedicalism is ethically conservative, ideological childish, and honestly it's just mean to humanity. It's a mean, hateful ideology.

I haven't met a single kind transmed and I haven't met a single transmed who seems happy with their self and able to accept themself and their reality. I think that says a lot.

Thinking back to the first story I ever started writing down (I was 7 or 8) about a group of stray cats who, every full moon, took the form of human kids. They actually were human kids, who had been killed (all at different times/by different people). Their bodies were each dumped by the side of the road where a cat had been hit by a car previously, and their souls landed in the cats' bodies. Eventually they all found each other and decided that every full moon, when they shifted, they'd try to solve each other's murders one by one. It was going to be a series, with each book focusing on a different kid's murder mystery. I told my mom about it once, briefly, and she said "Those cat books (warrior cats) are making you creepy."
