Maybe a hot take but after seeing that Pokemon Legends ZA won’t be an industrial era paris with piplup, torchick, and snivy as starters I’m genuinely bummed. No hate, the new game just looks the exact same as any other Pokemon game but without gyms. It’s really lacking that fun and interesting swing that Legends Arceus had, and the modern setting doesn’t seem like anything new.

we have literally only seen two non-reveal-and-showing-actual-gameplay trailers and one was half just repeating info the first one showed us, also regarding the starters the Torchic line doesn't have as obvious a France connection as the other two and Empoleon isn't all the way French as yeah it's still based on Napoleon but also Poseidon (and the people who think the starters we're getting would get regional forms like the PLA trio and not Megas have seemed to come to a general consensus on what'd be most likely and those all would have a French connection in their regional evolutions; Kalosian (since I presume they wouldn't name the variants after Lumiose like it's a region-within-a-region) Meganium would be Grass/Fairy and its flower would turn into a fleur-de-lis, Kalosian Emboar would be Fire/Steel and have a French chef theme (yeah yeah yeah morbid connections with that and a Fire-type pig, but nothing GF hasn't done before), and Kalosian Feraligatr would be Water/Poison and (while that's the loosest French connection in its basis) apparently like NYC Paris has its own urban legend regarding sewer alligators and there are indications from map stuff we've seen that we might be visiting underground bits of Lumiose)

Point being I respect your opinion but I think we might need to wait and see and for all we know we're getting something more different than you think it's just we haven't seen the differences yet if they'd even appear in the trailers (Z-A may seem main-series-y but e.g. the ScVi trailers didn't really say anything about Area Zero so maybe Z-A's got its own similar (but still its own thing, y'know, it might not even have to be a location) equally-massive equally-spoiler-y thing they're keeping hush-hush about until you actually play the game) just like how I'm 90% certain (but open to being wrong) that Urbain/Taunie aren't going to be our only rivals as e.g. while XY also had the opposite-gender-player-character-swapsies thing we had three other rivals apart from whoever you didn't choose of Calem and Serena and mainline games since then have seemingly stuck to a pattern of trios (albeit ScVi's wasn't two-guys-one-girl like SuMo and SwSh but then again many fans have Thoughts on Penny's gender situation)
