I feel like most people don't know how crazy ocd can make you seem it's one of the most mentally ill things you can be. like the level of superstition is insane, you have to complete certain trivial tasks so God will not kill your family. and then your whole thing basically becomes about the stress of having to constantly do meaningless tasks to avoid killing your family. and when you get too good at avoiding killing your family, that's when you start being able to kill people with your mind without trying or wanting to do that. so obviously you start killing people with your mind powers, and it's silly but you can't take that risk because you're quite familiar with the way thoughts affect and decide reality. that's why your brother is alive to this day after all, because you listened when you had to switch the light on and off 19 times and saved his life. and your cat is healthy because you won an ocd mini game and made it inside in time before a red car could drive by. and why did I even randomly think about killing mind powers if I don't have such a thing? Maybe it's important and meaningful that I had such a thought at a moment where my family being killed is a sensitive topic for me, maybe everything has been leading up to my killing powers this whole time. and you need to go on a new mission completing new meaningless tasks to undo the killing of your family you just caused. you must think it away as hard as you can with your mind powers. torrents work like this

i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3

unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it

i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map

i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs

this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.

crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.

"why qbittorrent not the others?" prev tags; qBittorrent has been standard for a while and it works really well too. It has a bunch of features to automatically keep your torrents organized and going to the right places, supports I2P, default tracker lists, etc etc. All around it's the best client.
