if you know me irl no you don't. // (whatever pronouns you want, adult, UK) // queer aroace-spec. exclusionists can suck my dick. // I made my icon and header myself bc I am a master of graphic design.
I just realized that your icon is not Patrick Bateman. You and I have been Tumblr pals for YEARS. You're always really tiny, though, and I hadn't looked that closely. I see you in my notifications all the time. I'm sending this ask on anon bc I am embarrassed lol
it's really really funny to me that like "people under 18 might consume porn and that's generally fine actually" is some shocking take. like were you not also young once. is it not normal to develop sexually around the age of 12. is it not normal to experience sexual thoughts as a teen. like it's fucking absurd that we're suggesting mass surveillance of children to ensure they will never see a boob ever outside of a classroom instead of just teaching children how to interact with adult content safely. you're just arguing for abstinence again, plugging your ears going "lalala" when someone tells you that kids should learn about sex or they will have sex in worse more dangerous ways
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher appears in a sketch with the cast of Yes, Minister.
NO, PRIME MINISTER
Drama on 4
A comedy drama, based on real events.
It’s 1984, and ‘moral campaigner’ Mary Whitehouse, as President of the National Viewers & Listeners Association, honours the creators of BBC TV’s popular situation comedy, Yes, Minister, with an award ‘for exemplifying wholesome television’.
Yes, Minister actors, Paul Eddington and Nigel Hawthorne are decidedly unenthusiastic at the prospect of receiving an award from Mrs. Whitehouse.
But there is worse to come: Mary Whitehouse manages to persuade the Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher to present the award – as it’s her favourite TV programme.
When Eddington hears this news, his fury knows no bounds. The last thing he wants to do is to appear on stage with Mrs Thatcher.
There is, however, still more bad news: Thatcher’s Press Secretary, Bernard Ingham, suggests to the PM that, as part of the ceremony, she could appear in a comedy sketch with the cast of Yes, Minister.
She thinks this is a marvellous idea – it will show the public her ‘softer, more human side’ – and decides that she and her advisers will write the sketch themselves. Rehearsals begin at No 10 in earnest, with civil servants standing in for Eddington & Hawthorne – who, until the night before the awards ceremony, know nothing of this plan.
Our play follows the progress of these rehearsals, intercut with scenes showing the full horror dawning on left-leaning Eddington, as he learns, bit by bit, what is in store for him at the ceremony.
The sketch is finally performed, and broadcast live on BBC Radio 4’s World at One.

my specialty is liking the same movies that 50-year-old dads like but in a way that would instantly send those dads into cardiac arrest if they heard me talk about them
you ever realize how able bodied people just are not expected to do things that cause them excruciating physical pain? like they’re just. not
if i shouldn’t use my cane because i can sometimes technically walk without it, it would just hurt like a motherfucker then abled people should no longer be allowed to use potholders to take things out of the oven because i mean
well they could technically pick up a hot pan with their bare hands. it would just hurt like a motherfucker
if you use potholders how will you ever build up the calluses necessary to pick up scalding hot metal without burning yourself so severely? it’s like you’re not even trying to get better
whenever i look into a historical monarch who doesn’t get talked about much and is just kind of a blank spot in my understanding of the historical narrative, 95% of the time what i find is pure white hot blistering capability. a pencil pusher for the ages. a 39 year reign with no more than three hours of sleep a night. there aren’t any good stories from his reign because he systematically caught and stopped all catastrophic good stories before they could start. you shrimply must respect it
kind of fucked that because i haven't verified my age, from tumblrs perspective I could potentially be a minor. so obviously they cant show me mature content like. uhh. clothed women. but they can show me AI generated porn ads.
i know it's been said on here and said again but people do so desperately need to genuinely do intentional work to build distress tolerance and start figuring out how to recognize the differences between danger, discomfort, and when a situation that is merely uncomfortable is triggering an emotional flashback in your bodies because it resembles a past situation that actually was dangerous which makes it difficult to realize/believe that this moment is merely uncomfortable.
i spoke to an allistic person who said their autistic classmate had a meltdown in class, during which the autistic classmate collapsed to the floor in the middle of the room, screaming and crying. they said it was "terrifying" and they were arguing for the autistic student to be removed permanently from the program.
when i asked whether their autistic classmate's meltdown was dangerous or merely uncomfortable, they said, "i felt like i was in danger!"
i understand that. but that's not what i asked.
