when the browser window gets too small the sidebar will disappear and become toggleable, the sidebar toggle button will appear on the right side of the headerbar next to the day/night button

No thoughts, only angsty Raybins stuff </3 ( I swear that I had a vision, back when I made this. The vision was that it's always angsty Raybins hours in t h i s household. That, and the fact that both, Raybins a n d Gavries are doomed in every version of the story, for slightly different reasons. Thanks for coming to my tedtalkđ«Ą )
And also. I kept thinking wayy too much about/ comparing Raybins ' final moments, aka Stebbins' death scene in the book and movie, which is actually...really interesting to me.
Because yes- they d o form a bond in both versions of the story. Ray i s the one person Stebbins opens up to ( too late), and reaches out for ( too late) towards the end of the walk (both, metaphorically and eventually quite literally as well). Ray is present during Stebbins' death scene in both versions ( which is s a pretty important aspect of it, imo) and you coul argue he is at least somewhat comforted by this in both versions of the story. However.
There are obviously a couple of differences ( which. Makes sense in regards to a couple of other main differences between the book and the movie, mainly Stebbins' illness and the change in regards to the last two death scenes).
But that o n e thing that I keep thinking about is the fact that movie!Raybins eventually got to form a bond ( although a bit later, and under slightly different circumstances than book! Raybins did) and say at least somewhat of a proper goodbye, in a way.
Meanwhile, book! Raybins obviously share a bond as well. And they eventually get to consolidate it as well, after Stebbins finally opens up aboit his father/ catches up with Ray and Pete. But then Pete dies ( and Ray becomes. Pretty much overwhelmed by shock/ grief) And then Stebbins tries to reach out to Ray again by asking him to continue his not-a-fairytale story ( aka. To keep walking with him) but Ray refuses, because he's too caught up in his own grief. And Stebbins views/ mistakes that as a rejection and lashes out and they both end up hurting each other/ have their little fallout -
And then they both spend several hours of that final day walking separately and all by themselves again. And they don't talk to each other again, up until Stebbins literal death, when Ray is about to give up, and approaches Stebbins one final time to say goodbye to him. ( and they don't really get to talk during that obe either, because Stebbins is literally at the verge of death at that point. But he still dies reaching for rescue/ one last act of comfort and clinging to Ray, after spending most of the walk by himself and I...will never be normal about any of that)
Also, this was originally supposed to be simply about the webweave, but I fear this is starting to turn into s yap session so I'm just. Gonna stop here, lol ( I could yap about all that for hours though </3)
Anyway, what I wanted to say is. Both versions of Stebbins' death scene/ Raybins' final scene are painful to me. But book! Raybins makes me want to scream and throw up and sob hysterically whenever I think too much about them </3
* cough* Hope you like the web weave though. And I also hope that this mess makes somewhat sense and didn't just turn into incoherent word-vomit at some point đ« đ«Ą
