so actually, I will never be over buck canonically calling bobby "pops" until he told him that they weren't a family and then we never get to hear it, because apparently he never did again. (ahhhh–)

this is the moment he realizes his lie actually might work, and instead of feeling relieved, he’s probably just terrified, because the one person closest to him, the one who always saw right through him seemingly doesn’t anymore

#something something commenting on the other's well-being first something something Eddie actually cradling Buck's face like Buck clearly wanted to do something something can they kiss already
4x14 “Survivors” -> 9x13 “Mother's Boy”
eddie thought that he and buck were attacked for being assumed to be a couple, btw. the way he perceived the events of the crash and buck going missing– the reason why he woke up in pain in a hospital and didn't know if his friend was dead or alive– means he has experienced the trauma of being hate crimed and then dealt with cops who tried to cover it up and arrest him.
...so that's not great for his repression journey.
Am I the only one confused how pretty sure at least a couple people have said Buck's received more than one apology from his parents while Maddie's got none? Of course Maddie deserves an apology but as far as Buck I don't think Margaret's ever canonically apologized and pretty sure Philip only apologized this episode (and he let Buck immediately refute the fact that they were terrible parents).
Interesting Margaret actually tells Buck she's proud of him for I'm sure the first time but anyway we all know that attempt at absolving themselves, my point is- someone correct me if I'm wrong- besides that scene I don't think there were any others about Margaret and Philip being bad parents until that scene with Philip in 9x12- where Philip does apologize for not going to the funeral but not for anything else (only other time he says I'm sorry is giving condolences) unless you count him saying they were "terrible parents" (which Buck immediately refute then he says "not great" and buck refutes and Philip lets him, saying "I appreciate that" which ??) so yes Maddie never got an apology and I feel awful for her- I love both Buckley siblings- but as far as Buck, the only one he got can hardly be counted- and it was only from Philip
I even rewatched that scene with Buck, Margaret, and Philip at the station in Buck Begins and they just say (Philip) "you have to know, we never blamed you" (have a hard time believing that, at least as far as Margaret) "none of this was your fault" then, after Buck says he still wished he could've done more, (Margaret) "Buck, you were born to save someone and that's what you do, everyday. We are so proud of you"
yeah, 100%. I scoped all of the episodes with his parents before this one, and the word "sorry" or anything close never left their mouth. he does say they "wanted [him] to forgive them" and that he did, but all that tells me is that he's always been expected to move on without an apology. more than that– he has to apologize for showing that he has feelings about what they have done.
what if buck hides his emotions and trauma because he's afraid to be "unstable" and make everybody walk on eggshells like his mom?
this is the first time I've noticed that buck looks like margaret– because that's what grief looks like on his face, and her constant is grieving.
he often acts like his father in difficult moments with eddie (think the infamous shoulder squeeze and his quiet support while eddie has a mental health crisis, loses christopher, etc. just like philip has done ever since they lost daniel), but now with buck being this close to crashing tf out...
if buck lets his pain and anger out, he probably knows he's going to look and sound just like his mother– and maybe that's a big part of why he rarely yells at people and pretends to be fine.
buddie + sharing the a closet (again)
good god, eddie probably knew he was going to be a father– probably had a marriage license– before he had a driver's license. I bet he drove like shit because his dad didn't teach him how, either because he was busy or because eddie avoided it after the incident with his sister's birth. who was it that taught him? did he learn for christopher? also 1. when and 2. how tf did eddie learn to hot wire his parents' car? did he end up with a record for driving without a license? is military the only place that would take him at the ripe age of 18?
did it occur to anybody else that buck let himself snap at that guy for calling him an idiot– but not ravi for being the first to do it, or chim for making fun of him baking, or eddie stepping on his hope of talking to bobby– because it was "safe" to be angry without worrying about being abandoned for expressing a single negative fking emotion? he tries so hard not to lash out at his loved ones– but they're the reason he needs to right now. his support system is not supporting him in coping.
can't they see he hasn't moved past bobby yet? that was his dad– he needs more time than it's been and more consideration than he's getting.

911 Season 9 Episode 5 Predictions (some slight spoilers for ep. 1-4 and stills/sneakpeak from 5)
Hoping...
Both Eddie and Chris's heritage feels like it's being celebrated during Dia de los Muertos
Eddie's upcoming "spiritual awakening" won't ignore his established religious trauma
Eddie parallels to the flashbacks or whatever it is that they're doing now with Micheal
Eddie feelings Realization (the flower scene!)
Bobby resurrected (Buck screams because he finds him– very scary looking– in his attic)
Expecting...
Eddie having a "spiritual awakening" will be nothing more than a lame weakening of his skepticism toward the supernatural
Shannon and Bobby are discussed
Eddie and Buck will speak??? to each other
Eddie is looking at Chris in the flower scene
Buck screams at something that at this point is ridiculously unrealistic compared to what we're already doing (real ghost, dead body...)
Worried...
Chris won't be shown as having any kind of connection to celebrating Dia de los Muertos
Eddie's "spiritual awakening" is literally just him believing that person is possessed and getting Aggressively Catholic all of a sudden
Eddie and Buck continue not to interact
Eddie will get a new female love interest so he can "move on" from Shannon like Bobby would want and not "waste his time alive"
Bobby isn't brought back (this seems like our last chance with the Day of the Dead theme)
No cause it’s the fact that he goes from making this face while holding the flower upright and proper
To making THIS FACE while suddenly going weak and dropping his arm
It means SOMETHING I’m sure of it !!!
I really wish I was one of those people that can happily multiship but unfortunately thinking about buck or eddie with anyone but each other feels like I’m having my teeth pulled out one at a time with pliers and no anaesthetic
