Okay let's get this straight.
"Asexuals can still have sex" does not mean that asexuals can begrudgingly put their sex repulsion aside and force themselves to please their partner. It means that because asexuality is simply defined as a spectrum of little to no sexual attraction and one's sexuality consists of many different factors other than attraction, such as sex drive and emotional connection, there are individuals on the asexual spectrum who can and do enjoy having sex even though they lack sexual attraction.
"Aromantic people can still date" does not mean that aromantic people can lie to themselves enough to go against their actual wants and get into a romantic relationship and pretend to be "normal". It means that because aromanticism is simply defined as a spectrum of little to no romantic attraction and human relationships are very much complex and romance itself is loosely defined, some aromantic people do in fact desire a romantic relationship while not experiencing romantic attraction because of other factors such as companionship and intimacy
@pancakeknight exactly, I really think we should be phrasing it like that
People really need to take a wider view of this paranoia about age gaps and realise this is how we lose the ability to build communities. You need to be able to realise that people can have things in common with you even if they grew up in a different time/place/culture. You also need to realise you can build communities with people who donât have obvious things in common with you, that people can have the same goals and needs as you even if in most ways theyâre very unlike you. Now, more than ever, we need to be able to work together to have any chance to stand ip against the few who have so, so much more power, money and influence than any of us do individually. We need to form communities that reach across age (and class and race and sexuality and so onâŠ).

I just don't think i'd be able to live without this sky tbh
"aros can still date" well i don't want to. "aros can be in qprs" well i don't want to. "aros can still get married" i cannot stress enough how much i don't want to do that. "it can be completely platonic" i don't care i still don't want to. "aros can still go on dates and kiss people and act indistinguishably from an alloromantic person" why are you so hell bent on us fitting into amatonormative society as much as possible. "aros can still love" is this just to make you feel better? it feels like it's just to make you feel better
and donât get mad at me but itâs sort of the aro version of telling a gay man âwell you can just date a woman and act straight, you dont have to actually be in love but you can date a woman, you can marry a woman for the tax benefits even, why not just date women it would be easierâ like thatâs definitely a possibility but an overwhelming majority of gay men want to be with men. and many, many aros donât want to be with anyone. and repeatedly being told how we could put ourselves in a situation we donât want to be in just to keep up appearances is exhausting
Many queer people are just fundamentally not normal, because ânormalâ is socially constructed. It is an arbitrary category meant to be weaponized against marginalized people. If you limit your advocacy for queer rights to those who can be crammed into that category, you wonât have a leg to stand on when that category gets smaller and you suddenly arenât in it anymore.
"Too often these days I find myself in the position of defending someone I think is annoying from someone I know is dangerous."
I think "throwing the most cringe members of our community under the bus doesn't stop it from barrelling towards you next" is a phrase that desperately needs to become a piece of calligraphy or cross stitch that people hang on their wall in a little frame
Superman isn't woke. You're just so evil that you see a man doing acts of kindness and you think it's a targeted political agenda

One of the common mistakes I see for people relying on "AI" (LLMs and image generators) is that they think the AI they're interacting with is capable of thought and reason. It's not. This is why using AI to write essays or answer questions is a really bad idea because it's not doing so in any meaningful or thoughtful way. All it's doing is producing the statistically most likely expected output to the input.
This is why you can ask ChatGPT "is mayonnaise a palindrome?" and it will respond "No it's not." but then you ask "Are you sure? I think it is" and it will respond "Actually it is! Mayonnaise is spelled the same backward as it is forward"
All it's doing is trying to sound like it's providing a correct answer. It doesn't actually know what a palindrome is even if it has a function capable of checking for palindromes (it doesn't). It's not "Artificial Intelligence" by any meaning of the term, it's just called AI because that's a discipline of programming. It doesn't inherently mean it has intelligence.
So if you use an AI and expect it to make something that's been made with careful thought or consideration, you're gonna get fucked over. It's not even a quality issue. It just can't consistently produce things of value because there's no understanding there. It doesn't "know" because it can't "know".
its been just over a year since i posted this and i still encounter people saying things like "i asked chatgpt and..." or "i made this with chatgpt and...". and these arent like teenagers or students they're adult professionals using this shit for their job. i dont know how people live like this
I don't know how to make this any more clear but if you use ChatGPT to do work you're only hampering yourself.
If you stop using it (or Co-Pilot or any other bullshit AI helper) you will learn and grow more, develop new skills, and become a more valuable employee at work and/or do better at school. There's no shortcut to developing useful skills, you just gotta keep working on it.
SURPRISE SURPRISE
Researchers find that the more people use AI at their job, the less critical thinking they use.
#it is easy to say this now but it was also incredibly easy to say this at the start and at every point along the way ( @qqueenofhades)
When I say that transmasculine people, including, obviously, binary trans men, don't hold power over women, there's always ONE fucker who's like "oh yeah ? But what if it's a whit, able-bodied perisex transhet man who's papers are all changed, who cispasses and is totally stealth AND is a manager ??? What then ???"
And I'm like, you CAN'T be in good faith rn. I'm not saying this particular case doesn't exist but be for real, it must be one in a fucking million. And even in this case, the dude is one outing away from having all his privileges taken away from him, which isn't the case for cis white men.
Stop nitpicking. Transmasculine people don't hold power other women. Period. If you want a punching bag, aim at the people who are truly after your ass.
They did this during ace discourse as well. There was always a mythical "aromantic heterosexual cis white frat boy" who was out to invade LGBT+ spaces. They can't find any real world examples of someone who's exempt from oppression, so they invent a strawman to suit their arguments.
Same tactics, same bullshit, same bloggers, new target. They've truly learned nothing.
And yanno what? That mythical aromantic white cis het frat boy wouldn't be "invading" queer spaces, either. The other conditions of a person's life do not invalidate their queerness. One can be white and queer, male and queer, cis and queer, het and queer, a frat boy and queer...so why not all of the above and also queer?
Just cause he's not denied healthcare for being aromantic doesn't mean he's not subject to other bullshit. Example one, being queer and not accepted by the queer community due to hostile fuckin gatekeepers. Called hysterical and ostracized by non-queers for using a term that works for his romantic attraction? Having his intentions for casual sex seen as predatory by pretty much everyone?
This website is fucking OBSESSED with "who holds power over who" but really gang? The world governments hold power over ALL of us. That's the big one. Cops, judges, politiciansâ THESE people hold the power over others. Illusions of queers holding power over other queers are delusions (unless they're speaking directly about queer people in positions of authority, then obviously fucking yes those specific queer people hold some power over other people)
A group of Wikipedia editors have formed WikiProject AI Cleanup, âa collaboration to combat the increasing problem of unsourced, poorly-written AI-generated content on Wikipedia.â The groupâs goal is to protect one of the worldâs largest repositories of information from the same kind of misleading AI-generated information that has plagued Google search results, books sold on Amazon, and academic journals. âA few of us had noticed the prevalence of unnatural writing that showed clear signs of being AI-generated, and we managed to replicate similar âstylesâ using ChatGPT,â Ilyas Lebleu, a founding member of WikiProject AI Cleanup, told me in an email. âDiscovering some common AI catchphrases allowed us to quickly spot some of the most egregious examples of generated articles, which we quickly wanted to formalize into an organized project to compile our findings and techniques.â

So JKR is anti asexual now to
Anti-asexual discourse has always been a canary in the mine when it comes to anti-LGBTQ stances. First it's trans people, than ace people, then gender non-conforming people, then bi people... it will just keep going until it's every queer person.
I looked up the tweet to confirm it was real (because even now it was shocking), and she doubles down (as she always does) in follow up tweets.
JK Rowling has targeted asexuals on International Asexuality Day, branding it: 'Happy International Fake Oppression Day'
Itâs always felt like the way TERFs hate Asexuals is related to the fact that we kinda fuck with their narrative by existing.
They canât spread transphobia on the back of gender essentialism that says people with penises are animals with no impulse control, if simultaneously itâs generally understood that some people (which includes some people with penises) just donât have that sexual impulse.
If asexuality is real then a lot of Radfem rhetoric starts falling apart.
White people love to be like "I avoid Black people because I'm scared I'll accidentally be racist to them" and think it's 1) somehow not racist to do this 2) a normal thing to do and admit
There's a deeply compulsive urge in a lot of White people to flay themselves open in this bizarre, uncomfortable confessional way where they just NEED Black people to forgive them for, idk, being white?? And they will openly admit to the wildest shit with the most pleading expressions and it's insane to me
Every time a Black person is like "the reason for x behavior is racism" they will get swarms of people being like "I DO THIS, BUT PLEASE HEAR ME OUT" like I need you people to please get a grip, you are talking to a person and what you are saying is absurd

Donât let anyone or anything convince you for too long. So go out. Do it fat! Wear the clothes you love, pursue the opportunities that excite you, and live unapologetically. Thereâs no reason to put off living the life that you want, waiting for a moment that youâre not even sure will come. You deserve to be happy and fulfilled just as you are, and the world needs you exactly as you are today. Everything good that has ever happened to you, happened in this body. Girl, just do it fat.
I see this post all the time and I'm so confused. Most people throughout history were busier than your average resident of a developed country is now. My primary reaction to reading about the past since I was a child has been "I'm glad I don't live then, I'm too weak for that, I could not do that much work all the time."
In the past things took longer to do but they often required a waiting period. You had to chop wood, put it in your stove, and light it, but it took a few hours for it to get hot enough for baking and then another hour for the bread to fully cook. History books will say things like "It took 4 hours to make a loaf of bread" but they don't mention that you only had to do actual work for a fraction of that time and the rest could be devoted to other tasks or relaxing for a while
Employee workload has doubled or tripled because of modern technology. It makes things faster but also creates less downtime which employers have filled with more responsibilities. You can do more work in a 10 minute period if all the files are on the computer but in the olden days you got to take a short walk to the filing cabinet and let your mind wander while you thumbed through folders, which means a modern 10 minutes of work is more mentally exhausting. The amount of work one employee has to do today used to be split between 2 or 3 people. We lost those moments of downtime we used to get by having to do things the slow way
