"it's really hard to get a diagnosis for dissociative identity disorder, which means it's fake." no, what that means is that the vast majority of diagnosing psychiatric professionals (at least in America and Canada) are not trained at all on dissociative disorders and did not receive enough training in trauma therapy to be able to recognize the signs of DID.
we were diagnosed 3 years after we originally tried to seek help for it, only because we were lucky enough to find someone who had sought the training and did the research. it has been confirmed since by several other professionals who have specifically gone through the training. it can and does happen, but the reason it's hard is because us dissociatives can't match up easily with the professionals that know jack shit about it.
that's the problem. a lack of competent providers and ways to get dissociative patients to see the ones that exist.
Oh, hey, We did a summary of a diagnostic guide for DID a while back that happened to go over this exact problem! The exact quote was, "The difficulties in diagnosing DID result primarily from lack of education among clinicians about dissociation, dissociative disorders, and the effects of psychological trauma. This leads to limited clinical suspicion about dissociative disorders, misconceptions about their clinical presentation, and difficulty recognizing the signs and symptoms even when they occur spontaneously [...]." (Side note, this guide is from New Zealand, so the same problem evidently appears there, too.)
This is such a problem that texts specifically on diagnosing these disorders will acknowledge it. How are you meant to get diagnosed with something that most clinicians don't know shit about? How are you meant to get proper attention and treatment if the people who should be able to recognize when you need it just can't? It's so frustrating.

I know intersex people are still getting excluded in a lot of LGBTQIA+ spaces (let alone wider society) and I think it's crucial to show this group is included in the statement that we all deserve equal rights.

Like we have commodified human connection to a degree where if you go beyond smalltalk you're oversharing and if you talk too deeply about your life you're traumadumping and if you get visibly upset you're manipulative and if you care too much you're codependent and if you want to talk about anything heavy you're expected to go hire a therapist because your friends shouldn't have to deal with that stuff and yet we're all sitting around wondering why so many people are lonely...

States of Being
We were trying to explain to some friends earlier that saying "this person is in front" and "this person is co-conscious" isn't always the most useful phrasing for us because either of those terms can mean a lot of different things. We have our own words that we like to use to describe where folks can be in relation to our awareness.
The states on this chart are still a bit of a simplification, as we flow between them and it's more of a spectrum than a discrete set, but they're close enough to the actual language that we use to do the job.

you gotta wonder how many breakthroughs never happened because a woman found some anomaly while toiling through menial calculations, and her boss just assumed she fucked up the math 4 times in a row. maybe she just made the numbers look right the 5th time like he wanted.
Getting terfs on this so I want to say that like any other group of marginalized women, this goes doubly so for trans women. I know a number of trans women in academia who tell me about how their colleges will frequently ignore them, and outright refuse to credit them for their contributions when they finally bother listen. Trans women are women, your feminism will devolve into reactionary drivel if you cannot accept this
