I guess the point is that you could shapeshift into the body you always thought you’d grow into when you were a kid

When someone attempts to defend their stance that there are only two 'genders' (by which, they of course mean 'sexes', and even then they are incorrect,) with the phrase:

"It's basic second grade biology." As was the go-to argument in America a few years ago.

I like to very kindly and calmly reply with:

"Zero is the smallest number, it's basic first grade math."

-To indicate that there are some things that we simplify when teaching small children, so that they can better wrap their heads around the fundamental parts of the subject first. However! We do this with the expectation that they will learn the complexities when they are ready to move forward and expand their understanding. We do not typically use qualifiers such as 'whole number' or 'biological sex' when those terms would only distract. 'Basic' does not mean 'the complete truth', Basic means basic.

If you are an adult who firmly believes that you were taught everything you need to know in elementary school, that is concerning, and tells me that you do not see the value in education.
