Asmodean Crystals?
Helluva Boss is back, and of course, so am I! So, while my first watch through I was completely stunned by the emotional backstory of Stolas all tied together by a beautifully sang song, the second time through, I really paid attention to the littler details.
I saw a lot of comments on how Stolas’s most genuine happy moments come from when he spends time with Octavia (as seen in the family picture frames on the wall), but, no one really questioned the specific page that was shown twice.
Asmodeus is a huge figure in the ring of Lust. Out of all seven of the sins that the rings are based off of, Lust revolves around love and sexual desire. As a sin, it’s the lack of control when sexual feelings and tensions take over.
So what does this mean for these crystals?
I theorize, it’s similar to a love potion. As we clearly see in the episode, Stolas lacks genuine connections. He considered Blitz to be his first friend even though Blitz did not feel the same. His wife only sticks around because she feeds off of Stolas’s suffering, and his own father couldn’t even remember his name. When it comes down to it — does anyone love Stolas?
Short answer: no.
I definitely belive the series is building up to Blitz realizing that, hey, he actually might have a thing for Stolas, but as of right now, the relationship is still very one-sided and forced (hard to accept, I know). But with Blitz not only being his first friend, but also his first lover that wasn’t pre-chosen for him, I can see Stolas getting so hurt by the unrequited love that he might attempt to do something.
Something like, say, put a love potion on Blitz?
I know I know! Seems like a lot, but with Asmodeus’s ties to the lust ring, and these crystals (that are named after him), showing up not once — but twice — after being specifically turned too, I can see them playing a major roll within this season. And my theory, is that these crystals act as something similar to a love potion. How do they work exactly? I don’t know, but really something to keep in mind.
Overall though, this was a beautiful start to the second season! I hope all goes well with the releases of new episodes and That Vivzie and her crew have no issues in their production.
