Overlock Stitch by @clothes_reetzy
Damn, that's useful
Finally a hand sewing tutorial on a hemline that isn't just the ladder stitch! the ladder stitch disappears when you tighten it, but it's not meant for hemlines because it breaks really easily! The overlock stitch is more stable, so it holds much longer, and it won't pucker or warp the fabric!

Admittedly, I don't know a lot about Demi Adejuyigbe or have a strong connection to their work (I've merely seen him around some places and thought him cool, beautiful and funny!) but I am deeply wishing for the day they get away from dropout.
I'm always wishing for better for Black trans folks but especially in something like a scenario like that w/the antiBlackness and transmisogy/noir. (Don't get me started on the sexual harassment in that one episode. Genuinely, vile.)
I wasnât aware of any antiBlackness, transmisogyny, nor SH related to Dropout? Could you lmk about it or point me in the direction of more info? I donât have a subscription so I only see the small clips they release for free
Okay, I was working through some asks but I can totally answer this now!
For the antiBlackness, I'm not sure how indepth you wanna know. It started as a very white company and has stayed so for a very long time. Some of their hiring processes have gotten better, some haven't, and the microaggressions seem to come and go in waves.
They recently just did a sponsorship thing with a cop show that helps recruit for the LAPD, so that's a great example.
They praised the show, its writers and actors, who are infamous for their copaganda and appreciation of the LAPD and said they thought some fans being upset about "copaganda" was worth the exposure and fun.
Their transmisogyny is immediately blatant in the fact they barely hire transfems at all, while having quite a number of TME actors/regulars, including trans ones!
In 2024, a statistician here on Tumblr even created some data based on their numerous shows, noting that around the time they'd had less than 5 openly TMA performers on their shows. In 2024. She went through over 1000 episodes! It's gotten slightly better, number-wise, but the microaggressions still come in waves and the lack of regular TMA performers is blatant.
They even did a HP spinoff roleplay in 2021(?) with no transfems involved and the game master blocked transfems on twitter for asking to at least be involved in a story that was based off of a tale that was being used to fund their genocide.
Now, I will admit, I haven't watched dropout in awhile! I have a lot of issues with the company and its members. but I did watch an episode awhile back that was some sort of "fun" Cast Members Running For President of Dropout shit (episode is called "outvoted")
On this episode, there was a pre-recorded "scandal" for each candidate that would be played around their speeches or whatever. The candidates didn't record them, it was a surprise that was part of the game.
Brennan was accused of regularly having diarrhea. Another was accused of wanting to build a pipeline on Indigenous lands. Another of drinking toilet water. Another had no accusation at all.
And Demi Adejuyigbe, the only Black trans person in the room (not to mention the only, I believe, TMA trans person), was accused of having an animalistic penis.
This was a running joke throughout an episode where another slogan was "Say NO to BLM!!!" (which stands for Brendan Lee Mulligan, but the joke was that it also does not.)
He may have been okay with it (Their initial response was confusion and then, like a badass, "So?"), he may have not but I actually think regardless, it is highly inappropriate and reeks of transmisogynoir to have one TMA trans person on your show, not to mention a Black one, and have a reoccurring bit where you joke about their genitals, much less that they have animalistic ones!
Like, what the fuck? It was the only explicitly sexual accusation and it was fucking nauseating. No one said shit and that's not just a microaggression; that's active, insidious and open transmisogynoir and sexual harassment.
I honestly haven't seen the incident with Demi discussed in the community, so it doesn't surprise me you haven't heard about it. A lot of dropout fans love Demi as long as they can ignore the realities of them being a Black trans person. Which includes the transmisogynoir and general antiBlackness.
I could throw out more but that's what I was initially referencing with some sources to go along with it.
2026 TUMBLR WHITENESS CENSUS
There are SIX questions total in reblogs, the end will be marked by large green text. If you donât see all six, check reblogs and grab the version with the ending note.
1/6 - Do you identify as some flavor of white?
White
Non-white
Only considered white outside of imperial core
Insecure Mixed Person externalizing my family racial issues here
Answers amended from the 2025 census based on feedback. If youâre mixed, choose what feels right to you Iâm not here to do phrenology or paper bag test you but donât make it my problem either. When in doubt, ask yourself: would the whites kill you too in the race war?
This census is US-centric because so is tumblr, unfortunately. This poll is also starting with a heavy Black/racialized bias due to my personal followers. The main point of this census is to see how white-dominant the site is currently compared to prior years, as well
For the purpose of this census, Imperial Core will be defined as the following: United States, Canada, Australia, Aotearoa, basically all of Western Europe, Japan, and Israel. If you want to argue about any of these designations, too bad maybe they should stop colonizing.
Reblog from question 6/6 below!
2/6 So is you Black or nah?
Ye
Nah
Insecure Mixed Person externalizing my family racial issues here
Not considered Black in my country, but considered Black elsewhere
3/6 How about trans?

Non-binary/Genderfluid/related but TME*
Non-binary but donât consider yourself trans
Agender
Two-Spirit
Otherwise cultural gender (please share I wanna know!!)
Other not listed
Cisgender
Note for clarification:
*For those who donât know, TMA means transmisogyny affected (such as trans women, some non-binary people, etc.) whereas TME means transmisogyny exempt (Cis men, cis women, transmasculine individuals, etc). If you want to ask for clarification for which applies to you for the purposes of this poll, feel free to ask and Iâll try to reply, but if you try to argue or quibble about the terms themselves, Iâll block you.
4/6 Are you currently inside or outside the imperial core? (Defined in first post)

Immigrated to imperial core from outside of it

here's two articles about how JK Rowling just posted on X an upskirt photo of Freda Wallace, a transgender woman, after deadnaming her and misgendering her repeatedly online.
The wealthy author escalated a social media spat that resulted in posting a photo from a 2023 event at the Institute of Economic Affairs in
Rowling posted the picture taken from below because the trans woman, she said, was "refusing to debate me."
Thank you for posting without the fucking destiel meme
what I mean: "sexual intercourse" is as much a social construct as "romantic courtship," and you discover this very quickly as a queer person if you try to talk to able bodied straight cis people who literally think the only thing that counts as Actual Sex is penis-in-vagina penetration, like they call oral "foreplay" it's so dire. various people have a lot of vested interest in cleanly defining "sex" vs "not sex" for a whole slew of reasons (ex. censorship dodging and enforcing, conferring the social clout of virginity and prowess, finding and closing loopholes about premarital sex, deciding what relationships "count" as serious partnerships, ligating what is general assault vs sexual assault vs Something That's Definitely Probably Fine And Not Sexual At All, Actually, etc.), and it's really not something you can just fall back on as obvious common sense that people are dumb for questioning.
what I say: sex isn't real and you can't have it
âKids shouldnât learn about periodsâ what
what do you even mean. I got my period at 11 and know people who got it younger
Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.
Edit: why are you all too scared to repost this. Cmon. Be vocal about being against racism
Edit 2: if you feel the need to announce in the comments that you're not reblogging for whatever reason just know that I genuinely do not care.
But also know that I will look through your account and if I notice that youre actively a racist or you just dont reblog stuff about that I will ridicule you in a reblog. Idc idc. Not reblogging is fine but if you feel the need ti announce it youre annoying asf.
Edit 3: seeing as you guys need evidence that white queers are sometimes racist
HI LETâS SHARE NICOLEâS WORDS ON THE SUBJECT!Â
It has been literal years but every time I see Martinâs tweets posted somewhere and his word is shared as truth while her post is not shared it sort of reiterates the fact that we trust men to speak about feminism more than we believe women who experience it.Â
Interesting, innit? https://medium.com/@nickyknacks/working-while-female-59a5de3ad266
Reading her account of how their boss treated her blows me away. Men are so emboldened that they will literally admit to illegal discrimination casually and face no consequences.
In all the years of seeing this post Iâve never seen a link to her side. Didnât even know sheâd written one.
Adding screenshots of her post. His whole post is there without needing a link. Hers should be, too.
Also, she posted this is 2017! Itâs fucking 2020 and Iâve seen his side of this for years, but it took 3 years for her side to make its way to my dashâŠ
Iâve reblogged his story at least twice; itâs time for Nicoleâs.
Reblogged him, bout time I got to reblog her.
Iâve never seen either side of this story, so sure, Iâll reblog this.
jkr is literally posting upskirt photos to her social media. when will it finally get through to harry potter fans that their support makes her feel confident and correct enough to do things like this
If the holocaust denialism SOMEHOW wasn't enough for you to shut up about your favourite kids book as an adult; JK Rowling just committed a sex crime IRL against a transgender woman.
When do we start to care.
If you could write a book, what would it be about?
(I hope your pain eases đ«)
I have multiple fiction books I hope to have the brains to write one day actually. Hereâs an example:
Guilt
in a world where semi-immortal deityhood is a job, a blessing/curse depending on what you Represent, and those who do it are mostly-randomly chosen, a Black transfemme in the 1920s suddenly becomes the personification of Guilt. Her first few decades are spent in fear and confusion on the run, as her presence in one space for too long results in her accumulating the Responsibility for every unsolved/unknown âwrongâ around her. This almost always ends in her murder and reawakening in a new place.
For those first few decades, she canât stay in one place too long and doesnât get close enough for anyone to explain whatâs going on to her, and her own attempts at research donât explain whatâs happening to her either, until she finally meets someone else like her. Threat, a butch transfemme that has figured out a way around her âjobâ drawbacks by becoming a professional dominatrix. Threat is able to explain to Guilt that sheâs not alone, and that she isnât the only one like her out there. That there are whole hidden cities of the âgodsâ where she might be able to live unaffected by her curse.
Guilt is finally able to spend a slightly longer time in safety thanks to Threatâs curse warding away those who would hunt her, but the rise of the carceral state means that there are options beyond death as âpunishmentâ. In a police raid, Guilt gets arrested and trapped within the prison system for the first time.
Her first time incarcerated is brutal but relatively short, as she ends up being murdered by a guard, causing her to reawaken free again. The knowledge of there being safe places for her out there makes her take bigger risks, spend more time trying to find them, anything for this singular hope.
The next time, she ends up in a nigh-permanent solitary, barely remembered enough to be fed, forced to stay alive but her time being extended over and over for things she never did, in a system that doesnât care about her. Trapped in an endless hell of ever-changing guards and no way to kill herself and escape.
Eventually, the prison is shut down and every prisonerâs case is reviewed as part of a restorative justice initiative. The cases are being reviewed by the current Truth, and Guilt is not only freed, but finds that while she was cut off from the world, many of the hidden cities came out to force a change they knew wouldnât happen on its own.
Sheâs able to reunite with Threat and find a space that will be safe for her, where her existence wonât be seen as an automatic admission of guilt, whereâs sheâs finally able to just be and exist without being afraid every single moment.
Where sheâs able to be happy.
I typed out the entire plot of this shit for yâall motherfuckers you better interact đ€đ€đ€
Heartbreaking: person has a great point but uses delusional as an insult in their post
queers who unironically hate on furries and kinksters are funny as hell. like awh what's that buddy? you base your moral judgements on your petty disgust rather than intrinsic harm? awh...
you would be homophobic if you were straight.
Saw this on Twitter and I obligatory need to share it
So she actually said that she does not see the appeal in Senshi at all and that the panty shots weren't intended to be horny - she just has a neighbor who looks kind of like him and does laundry in his underwear. Which she finds kind of weird and offputting, and put into his character to be funny.
But that's the thing. She doesn't exaggerate or grotesqueify or alter people's bodies to fit some standard. (Except insofar as she draws different species differently, and those are exquisitely practiced to ensure they have the same diversity of appearances that humans do.) She just presents people exactly as they are, complexities and oddities and all.
It just so happens that when you present people exactly as they are, what you present will be beautiful and alluring to many. Even the things you yourself might find weird and offputting. Honestly I think it's a touching example of how you don't have to see the beauty in everyone for the beauty to be there, simple honesty is enough to let the wonder of people's humanity shine through.
#i think we should put this post next to the interview where she said she doesn't want to eat the food in the series cuz she's a picky eater#and file them both under 'you don't know an artist from their work'#and maybe you don't need to!#maybe all you need to know is that ryoko kui is Good At What She Does#idk I don't like the implication that artists (and women especially?) can only create from personal life and feelings#some people have imagination and craft#kind of a tangent but. there you go.
no but you're very correct
& honestly there's no debate to be had the zendaya earrings are orders of magnitude worse than kim kardashian wearing that marilyn dress. yes that piece was a one of a kind unique textile made so specifically for marilyn monroe she had to be sewn into it. at the end of the day it was a ~70 year old usamerican cultural artefact being repurposed by an american for an american cultural event and everyone involved knows exactly where the dress came from + what happened to it + where it went afterwards. zendaya is wearing the looted (or forged) cultural heritage of a people her government is currently bombing & whose lives they have been deliberately making unliveable for decades to a movie premiere that has fuck all to do with iran. we don't know where those discs came from where they were found or by whom & we never will. AND the jeweller appears to have altered them substantially from their original condition. destroying a people's cultural heritage at the same time you destroy their country + their lives so you can look good on a red carpet One Time i want to fucking hurl
The earrings, worn by Zendaya at The Odyssey press tour, are believed to be 2,000-3,000 years old and come at a time when the US is bombing
An archaeologist quoted in the article says "the point of these earrings is not to showcase legitimate ancient artistry, it is to fetishize the past, to be a commodity, stolen from the elite, circulated illegally, and immorallyâŠthis is about class signalling."
Now that everyone is discussing Nolan's Odyssey movie, I feel like it's a good time to let non-Italians know that the production dumped plastic props into the Italian sea. Weirdly enough I could not find any article in English about it but it's a fucking problem nonetheless.
I might translate this article later today. This one was the most complete one, even in Italian news it's not talked about that much.
Non Ăš la prima volta che la produzione solleva un vespaio in Sicilia. A Lipari una squadra di sub sarebbe perĂČ giĂ impegnata a bonificare i
They dumped plastic skeletons in environmentally protected areas, against the literal contracts they had to sign to get the permits to film in environmentally protected areas. Like they not only did a bad ecological thing that freaked out some divers, they literally broke environmental protection laws and their contract with the Italian government

It was probably when i took up gardening that I discovered that being was better than thinkingâthat actually you don't have to think things through, you can garden all day and your mind will have been moved by the gardening. And it's the same when you're in water. You're thought through by the water rather than having to think. /End ID]
