To the broke customers who are âjust here to relaxâ
To the women who start grinding on their boyfriends after a couple of drinks
To the groups of young people who spend the whole night talking to each other and dancing around on the floor
To the men who are looking for sex
Go. To. A. Regular. Fucking. Club.
Strip clubs are places for men to trade money for companionship and entertainment. If thatâs not what youâre here for, youâre in the wrong place.
Get out.
My whole problem with the âI do makeup for ME! Iâm EMPOWERED when I put on makeup!â discourse is that it completely erases the fact that women arenât actually given the ability to MAKE that choice. Itâs impossible to say that youâre doing it for self empowerment, or that âif it wasnât so much fun I wouldnât do itâ because thatâs just not true. Women who enjoy doing their makeup and women who donât enjoy doing it both have equal pressure to wear makeup. Whether you enjoy the process or not, you will be taken less seriously as a woman, valued less, respected less, considered âunprofessionalâ at work, etc. if you choose not to wear makeup. Men arenât faced with the decision to get an extra hour of sleep or to be taken seriously. By writing it off as a cool empowering fun thing women do as an exciting entertaining hobby weâre justâŠ. erasing the entire institution of makeup and of beauty standards that seriously harm women. If you enjoy doing makeup thatâs great, thatâs fine, and you should keep it up! But wearing makeup in the first place wasnât ever your choice. We donât GET a choice. I hate people saying âoh you donât have to wear it! If you donât like makeup donât put it on!â As if Iâm expected to just be cool with the way the world will treat me if I donât conform to modern beauty standards! If youâre worrying about your eyebrows or lip plumpness or skin tone evenness thatâs not you making a free willed cool decision to feel insecure and concerned about facial features that men never have to think twice about. Thatâs you thinking in a way youâve been trained to think! And people wanna pretend that putting on makeup is Empowering⊠what the hell is empowering about making a choice thatâs been forced on us since we were old enough to be seen as sexual objects lmfao⊠thatâs bullshit that doesnât empower me and having to give up valuable time and money and energy that men are never asked to give up makes me feel like shit!! It makes me miserable! It makes me dread every single morning because I know Iâm gonna be putting forward all this bullshit labor just to exist and be taken seriously in my stupid body
A+ post. I would like to add, as well, that this sudden emergence of make up being cool and empowering for women comes directly from make up companies and Sephora, in particular. When I worked at Sephora they told us, in a hundred different and equally veiled ways, that the trick to getting people to buy something is to make them want it. When you need something you become restricted by the thing, but when you want something youâre exercising your free will. We were told we were âcelebrating beautyâ and making people comfortable in their own skin but in reality we were slinging $30 concealers at 15 year old girls who donât understand that the skin around their eyes is thinner and therefore always darker. We were pushing eyeliner and mascara in âfunâ colors to get young girls into make up under the guise of self expression. And the women who worked with me would go on and on about how their make up ritual was for them and how it was their âwar paintâ but then they would confess they felt uncomfortable leaving the house without a full face on. Most annoying to me was the short lived emergence of the naturally flawless skin trend. When I started at Sephora the trend was matte everything, full coverage foundation and strong controuring. It was a lot of make up to wear everyday and when summer came there was the biggest swing Iâve ever seen in trends where girls wanted BB creams and sheer foundations, no contouring, just the bare bones. From that we noticed a lot of people coming in for skincare. There were girls walking through the store with huge water bottles asking for sunscreen and face washes and Sephora was having NONE of that. It felt like a step in the right direction, taking care of your skin, protecting it from the sun, drinking water, and most importantly, it felt like the trends weâre moving away from âcover your flawsâ to more of a self-care aspect (Iâm very aware that the same motivations were behind the skincare trend but it wasnât as sinister feeling). Sephora soon came out with the Celebrating Beauty focus where we were supposed to push the empowering effects of make up to people who werenât in the store for make up. âOh I see youâre buying a face wash for dry skin; let me show you this foundation that hydrates and gives a natural glow.â The goal was to get people buy make up in large quantities, not skin care. Sephora actively quashed teen girlsâ attempts to take a step in the right direction by telling them make up is empowering. They are financially invested in the belief that make up is empowering.
damn this addition that was added to my post from my main blog⊠great commentary from someone who has actually worked in the industry and seen the way it works to harm women first hand
Bathrooms, locker rooms and the like are segregated by SEX, not gender identity. They serve bodily needs, which is why you pick one based on which kind of body you have. They do not exist as validation chambers, secret clubhouses or political battlegrounds. They are places to piss and change clothes. That is all.

yes tell me more about how watching a video called âteen slut gets ass fucked by manâ doesnât make you hate women, tell me more about how watching a video called ânasty whore gets whatâs coming for herâ doesnât contribute to rape culture or alter your views on consent. tell me more about how porn doesnât objectify, degrade and commodify womenâs bodies when the only people in hetero porn getting physically and verbally abused are the women.
âOf the 304 scenes analyzed, 88.2% contained physical aggression, principally spanking, gagging, and slapping, while 48.7% of scenes contained verbal aggression, primarily name-calling. Perpetrators of aggression were usually male, whereas targets of aggression were overwhelmingly female. Targets most often showed pleasure or responded neutrally to the aggression.â

ok firstly Iâm traumatized, not crazy, so jot that down
hot take
femininity already IS weaponisedâŠâŠ its target is to injureâŠâŠâŠ. Women
i want to die
Thatâs literally sexual orientation.Â
I thought they said no one was telling us to have sex with anyone that has a penis?
rape activism everyone
they want us to have absolutely zero sexual autonomy. if we donât want dick they want to ruin us socially. but donât worry, itâs progressive!~
Then they wonder why so many lesbians are âterfsâ.
why is trans activism the only movement worried about how somebody wont or will sleep with? Imagine BLM asking people if theyâd sleep with a black person. Or it disabled rights activist questioning if you slept with a wheel chair user?? This is not activism. This is pushing a rape agenda.
Itâs because BLM and ADAPT have real things to worry about like being killed by police or excluded from public life. Trans activists already have those privileges so they focus on getting laid instead.
Will sexual harassment discussions ever advance to the core issue of womenâs status as consumable sex objects instead of centering on when and where itâs inappropriate to consume us? Tune in next century.
You canât weaponize the things that disarm you.
Man: *Walks into a strip club, the implications of what happens at the club clear as day*
Stripper: *Offers man a lap dance*
Man:Â âOh I know what you are doing, playing mind games with me, manipulating me, I know exactly what you wantâ
Stripper: Gazes around the STRIP club in absolute awe that this brilliant man discovered she was trying to sell him a dance rather then make a new companion. Brilliant. Â
telling smokers what to do? i saw so many anti kink women using smoking as an argument in an bdsm discussion. someone tells you that something isn't good for you and your first reaction is defense, anger and sarcasm. i don't blame you. all people who do something unhealthy react like that. maybe smoking makes you feel good but it's a good coping mechanism? you smoke to piss of this guy who abused you...
Defense, anger and sarcasm? Wtf, no. My reaction was to agree with the person in a dark humor kinda way, like yep I know itâs bad for me already like wow itâs kinda common information, you know?
If you want though I can be facetious and pretend you are the first people to ever deliver me this enlightening information
