I don't usually post anything, but now I feel compelled to do so. My country is suffering, Italy is suffering: the virus keeps spreading yet people (dumb fucking people, may I say) keep going out with friends, they go for walks in the park and some go out to party. This problem is real, Coronavirus is real! France keeps joking about the situation, Germany won't send help (physical help: intensive care machines, masks...) and Europe thinks is not that big of a deal. This is real, people are dying and soon we won't be able to help infected people as the hospitals are always full of people. In Emilia-Romagna we have 1417 cases (Lombardy has 4427) and in my city, Bologna, people are getting ready for the worst. The hospitals have been closed (except for people who really need them) to get them ready to host hundreds of people who will eventually need intensive care. My parents are doctors therefore they're more exposed, putting my whole family at risk: we don't fear the virus itself, but we are scared of the social consequences that being infected can bring. We could be put in quarantine (best case scenario) or, much worse, we could unintentionally spread the infection (as young people tend to not show the symptoms as much) and maybe other members of the family could suffer from this and get seriously ill. If they do get ill, our country may not be able to help them. We are scared and we need help, we need to be heard and we need you to donate to our hospitals, in order to help doctors and nurses in their extremely hard job.
