Armin who always makes sure his hands are warm before touching Annie and Annie who will shove her freezing hands under Armin's shirt and make him jump out of his skin, then look at him with puppy eyes and say "you're so waaarmm"
Castes Mikasa would send Eren a video of two bonded kittens that refuse to let go of each other and just caption it āusā
Anyone else think Annie would actually be really good at carpentry, coming from a home with a single parent and not a-lot of money, it makes sense she learnt how to fix things like loose floorboards or be able to re-shingle the roof
In contrast, Armin is the type who gets a splinter if he so much looks at a block of wood and has an unlucky habit of conking himself on the head with whatever tool he is attempting to use.
When the two eventually settle down in their own house, Annie tends to do most of the upkeep and repairs on her own. Armin still tries to be helpful by sorting materials or bringing her a snack while she works.
Which she usually rewards with a loving kiss.
He also discovers he has something of a āHandywomen kinkā
Seeing Annie in her preferred working cloths consisting of frayed jeans, a red plaid flannel with a cropped tank top underneath drives him absolutely wild.
After the rumbling I want Karina and Mr. Leonhart to end up going out with each other and eventually get married.. just purely for the drama that would ensue.
I love how opposite Reiner, Annie and Bertolt are from Eren, Mikasa and Armin in almost everyway..
Eren has this genuine drive and inner strength but lacks the ability to utilise it on his own, yet despite that, is able to inspire and push others with his passion alone; creating his own army amongst his peers.
While Reiner is physically strong, he lacks Erenās drive and perseverance and back in Liberio he was the weakest link. People in the cadet corps only listen to him because of the front that he puts on.
Erenās cause and desires to be free are real and unrelenting and knows what he wants.
Reiner is torn between who he thought he was and who he really is and the mask is slipping.
-
Mikasa wears her emotions on her sleeve and was born for battle. Her strength was something she unlocked through her desire to protect Eren and others she cares about, people whom sheād gladly follow to the ends of the earth for.
Annie was forced to fight for a cause she never truly cared about, making her closed off and cynical. When Marcel died and she wanted to turn and leave, she was literally dragged to the wall to finish the job theyād started.
Mikasa chases after Eren because she cares about him.
Annie remains at Reinerās side because she feels she has no agency.

Armin is the voice of reason amongst his group whose words have gotten all three of them out of harms way multiple times. Heās not quick to backdown if he feels thereās something that can be done to circumvent their situation and stands up for what he believes in.
Bertolt is completely resigned to their circumstance and is unwilling to go against Reiner. His only purpose in all of this is so serve as āthe gate-breakerā and thatās it. All while he just looks on at Annie and Reiner that are constantly on the verge of killing each other with no intent of intervening.
Armin is an integral part of Eren and Mikasaās ability to push forward.
Bertolt is the third-wheel that Armin fears himself to be.

Poor Mikasa, one day he will notice
one thing i think is so Neat about atla is how all the main bender characters have an arc that corresponds to their "opposite" element. zuko's arc is about the capacity to change yourself and your worldview, and the culmination of his arc is learning a move inspired by waterbending. katara is all about passion and drive, wanting to become a great waterbender and fight for what she believes in, and over the course of the show she comes into her power. toph's arc involves getting free of her restrictive family and connecting with a community, and aang's arc is about learning to stand fast in his beliefs and confront difficult issues head-on. it's a beautiful bit of symmetry that reinforces the show's point about the illusion of separation
What gets me the most about pretending that Sokka is "the mom friend," and the accompanying implication that Katara is never forced into this role by the narrative, is the sneering about zutara that almost certainly goes with it. Like, how dare we imagine that Zuko might help Katara out with chores instead of pretending that everyone else already does. Which is also always accompanied by characterizing Katara as "not a mom friend, just bossy," because if the characters around her were already doing the work she does, she would have no real reason to complain the way she does, right? And thus, there's no reason to imagine anyone helping her, either, so we might as well just keep the status quo.
Katara is the ONLY character who explicitly calls out sexism and it's no coincidence that people are scrambling to characterize her as immature or irrational while they praise her brother for the things she actually does, that he canonically relies on her to do for him.
How do you look at Katara, a character who holds so much narrative significance connected to her mothers death, to the point that her older brother says he can no longer imagine their mothers face without seeing hers, and say ānah sheās not the mom friend. Thatās actually her brother.ā???
she's so eyes
After over a year I finished 7 Seeds. Phenomenal read and now one of my fav manga of all time. I loved the characters, their relationships, and the overall story and conclusion was fantastic (still reading the epilogue volume, so glad there's a slower conclusion after the intense climax because that was insane). I am SO excited to read Basara and Don't Call It Mystery and all her oneshots, Yumi Tamura is an expert in her craft!!

most of the aruani smut fics that i read usually have the armin eat out annie scene and i love it but can you explain why this is kind of a headcanon?
Hi anon!
I think it comes from the what the act represents in Aruani sex rather than the act itself. I have to elaborate a bit on this so bear with me :>
[N/SFW]
There are many ways where you can write nasty smut, keep it purely porn-without-feelings and have it work perfectly well within canon/au/divergence/whatever. In general that is, it's very much possible to strike a balance with smut that doesn't need much characterization or an insight into too many emotions, yet remains highly enjoyable.
It's possible to do this with Aruani smut too (and many authors do it well!) but also - it's difficult.
As characters, so much of what makes Armin and Annie the people they are is how they feel about things, places, people, others, each other, and so on. These are characters who have been developed within a very complex world under very difficult circumstances, and therefore have more unsaid about them than said at any given point of time. I believe as a couple, even with the canon moments we have, the way they behave around/with each other says a lot more than any of the words they speak. Not to mention, the ways in which Armin and Annie contrast each other adds more complexity to their interactions. To give a very simple example, Armin leans toward selflessness, while Annie leans toward selfishness. These are foundational pillars on which Aruani operate even in a very plain environment, making it a difficult task to strip them away while keeping them true to character and behaviour.
Now, sex being a very intimate and emotionally vulnerable act in and of itself, it goes without saying that an Aruani smut scene will have, in some way or other, a display of their barest, most naked and raw feelings. They are emotional characters even outside of a sex scene, so stripped of their clothes and courage they make for a very vulnerable, insecure, frightened pair. Here again, you have their contrasts at the forefront: Annie's impatience, Armin's hesitance; Annie's eagerness, Armin's consideration; Annie's desire to have it all at once, Armin's determination to take his time... these add flavour to the kind of sex they might have. These are character points that spill over into the act of sex - you see why it would be so hard to take it away?
Finally, coming to the question at hand - eating out is hot xD Agreed, everybody agrees, it's like the question appearing on the exam every year for the last 10 years lol. But when authors write Aruani and cunnilingus together, it's more than the, let's say, eroticism of the act alone. Armin doesn't go down on Annie just cuz it's the mandatory bit of sex, it's because he likes to give, he likes to please Annie, he likes to watch her rise higher and higher in ecstasy while he postpones his own high - actually we can even say this is also his high - it's a spillover of his selflessness, he's going to give Annie everything.
And she's on the receiving end, of course, and doesn't complain (okay lets be real lol, she can't. she won't xD) - it's like a symbol of Annie's selfishness, her taking what he gives, accepting it because it feels good, because it's addicting, because it's a rush and she wants to keep climbing it. It's also a symbol of Annie, finally after years of being deprived of so much, accepts happiness and love and pleasure from an act on the most vulnerable part of her.
In short, when we write the eating out scene, it's (more or less) an subconscious way of adding characterization to Aruani. A maybe-maybe not unintentional added depth into the type of people they are under the pressure of sex. So Armin eating Annie out isn't just eating out. It's a tiny window into who they are in a naked, intimate moment.
I've had this idea stuck in my head all day
The way Zuko helped Katara find her mother's killer not only made her willing to forgive him, but also gave her closure to the trauma she'd carried since childhood.
That's what Katara needed more than being reminded that she's still just a kid, then being forced to be a mother figure and understand others better than herself throughout the series.
Reiner: Pstt Annie, hey Annie
Annie: what do you want moron?
Reiner: lets do the thing
Annie: what, no way in hell
Reiner: come on
Annie: no!
Reiner: it'll be fun
Annie: I said no
Reiner: just this once and ill never ask again.
Annie: ugh fine, promise?
Reiner: with sprinkles on top, are you ready?
Annie: yeah, I can't believe I am doing this
Reiner: Alright on three, 1ā¦2ā¦3
