Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) | dir. Jon Watts
CAPTAIN MARVEL (2019).
Itās always a good time to remember that a canon novel included this bit about Obi-Wan.Ā
(before reblogging this again, adding that this is fromĀ āMaster and Apprenticeā, the short story by Claudia Gray fromĀ From a Certain Point of View, since itās nice to give credit and also otherwise everyone goes OMG WHAT IS THIS FROM when I rerun this one š)Ā
I'm gonna keep saying it as long as it's needed. Black Lives Matter āš¾

Say what you want, but Calanthe strutting into court in full plate armour, covered in blood and shoutingĀ ābeer!ā at her guests is a lot more attractive than putting women in skimpy armour that exposes 98% of her body.Ā
Christopher: A woman? Kirk: A crewman.
OH LOOK AT THAT THE 1960S
AND SHEāS IN COMMAND GOLD FUCKERS.
Sheās not in Medical blue, a caretaking, feminine role. Ā
Those in Gold were either OFFICERS, NAVIGATORS, PILOTS, TACTICAL OFFICERS, or WEAPONS SPECIALISTS. Ā
This is the Kirk everyone likes to forget.
Yāall, if you care about feminism, then you ought to care about the history and context of the miniskirt. The 60s were an era of rebellion against the 50s, and the skirts were part of it. They were literally cutting edge fashion, and a statement that women made against the more housewifey style of skirt from the decade before. It was Grace Lee Whitney herself who suggested to Roddenberry that they wear them, and Nichelle Nichols has said she never had a problem with them. They are a product of their time yes, but the women chose to wear them because of the context of that time.Ā
Also some men in Starfleet ware miniskirts and dresses:
And some of the women wear pants:
Theyāre given the power of choice, regardless of gender or sex.
ShitĀ ā-ā None of this even clicked to me - Thats fucking glorious :D
Picard in that dress is so good. Look at him! He looks formal and serious and dignified! He looks like heās captain of his ship and heās got some important business to do. And heās in a dress and tights. And itās not a joke. Itās not a joke about a man in a dress! Itās just, you know, a man who is wearing a dress, and thatās normal and appropriate. Itās part of the uniform. It fits him. Itās totally unremarkable and that is so rare and Iām so happy.
I feel obligated to point out that this is Picardās literal dress uniform (his Extra Special Fancy Uniform), and he hated his dress uniform? But he hated it because the collar was uncomfortable, not because it was A Dress. Thereās zero commentary on how itās A Dress and a lot of bitching about its lack of comfort.
This is very true

I JUST SPIT OUT MY SPIT
āMen like me donāt start the wars. We just die in them. Weāve always died in them, and we always will. We donāt expect any praise for it, no parades. No one knows our names. In fact, by your standards we have no names at all. We donāt have names. And no one will ever know who we are. But we do. We always do. Weāre the Grand Army of the Republic.ā The Cestus Deception by Steven Barnes.

I think we should also appreciate how he took the time out of his days to visit kids at the St. Jude hospital while still battling with his own cancer. He was a real life superhero to not only me but millions of people <3
anyway his smile at the end is the reason i cry myself to sleep every night
incorrect star wars quotes
I didnāt post this one at first because I realized after I recorded it that I wasnāt looking in the right direction but whatever Iām posting it anyways because I feel like my acting is good and Spidey over there totally killed it
