So when you say alien au. Do you mean xenomorph alien or just alien not human but a person from space?
Okay, so, itâs actually a little bit of both? In my AU, I wanted to stick as close to the lore and abilities of the original Murder Drones Solver as possible, along with adding my own flares and twists. They could be considered Xenomorph-like because they have multiple stages of life, and certain variations could be seen as âparasiticâ. But at the same time, theyâre actually just mimicking humans and human behavior.
The best way I can explain it is that Solvers basically mirror whatever they see. In my AU, they start off in a more bug-like stage, and gradually begin to mimic the dominate species of whatever planet theyâre trying to take over.
Solvers (aside from Half-Strains, but Iâll talk about those in a later post) start off as little âgrubsâ for about the first few weeks of their existence, before they begin to grow to match the observed fauna around them.
Then, at that point, they rapidly begin transforming into the shape of whatever species they are mimicking. Now granted, once theyâve taken that shape, they can no longer change into any other creature. Letâs say the planet youâre going to take over is full of sentient dolphins, and youâve been a fluffy cat-like creature since you hatched. Unfortunately, you are not going to grow gills.
Now, the same cannot be said for Hivemothers, which can take any form they like, due to their appearance being mostly illusion. But thatâs getting ahead of myself.
Solvers work as a âhiveâ, with different squadrons and their own Hivemothers, much like bees. So, for your TLDR, the answer is theyâre shapeshifters, made to infest and take over planets from the inside. :)
