Hello there, I just post whatever and reblog a lot of things, check my likes, there's usually cool/weird shit Ask me about my completely nonsensical and ridiculously big crossover fanfic!!!! (Don't message me with a single "hello" or whatever, I will assume you're a bot and ignore you) That's all! C ya!!!
we need to bring back old school tumblr communication and im so serious. sending an ask to a mutual just to say hello. seeing three different asks in your inbox all asking how your dentist appointment went. seeing a post you think one of your mutuals would enjoy and tagging them/sending it to them in the dms. nowadays its just silently liking a post or (if youre feeling extreme) replying under posts. WHAT HAPPENED TO US!! we used to be a proper community!!!! #LetsBringWhimsyBack
I'm just a coward that can't bring themselves to start conversations and likes to lurk here, but if someone else starts and doesn't seem to be a bot, I'll try my best to keep the conversation going
A non-writer asked me "but where do you get your ideas" and i genuinely did not know how to explain that it's not a place. it's not a website. it's not a folder. it's that i was on the bus and a woman was holding a paper bag very carefully and something about the way she held it made me need to know what was inside and then i needed to know why she was sad about it and then there was a whole person and then there was a whole story and the bus had already stopped and i missed my stop. that's where.
Something I spent WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much time on lol. This is entirely just riffing off of the many 'kinds' or 'tropes' in mecha design I found. Feel free to suggest more of them.
Might make a document providing examples for each one, but idk. I think most of these are pretty self-explanatory.
I actually drew this a day before the finale. I was gonna finish it but I got distracted and honestly I can’t be fucked to finish it now. What’s it been, three years? God damn. My humor has changed… slightly.
Real Rorschach Test: Let's examine your responses as a jumping off point to help you understand your own mind better.
What people think the Rorschach Test is: The inkblots can read your thoughts. The inkblots know you better than you know yourself. The inner workings of your mind are naked before the omniscience of the inkblots.
I am always shocked that media can’t differentiate psychologists from psychics. The amount of undergrad Psychology graduates who are functionally omniscient is truly staggering.
It probably didn't help that at some point they tried to "standardise" the ink-blots of "The" Rorschach test. That led some people to believe that there were "correct" answers.
this guy tried extremely hard in the 60s and 70s to turn the rorschach from a vibe check into an objective, scientific test, with *psychologist voice* statistically significant correlations between coded features of responses and psychiatric symptoms. he wrote huge thick manuals full of how to score and code rorschach tests, which you can download from libgen, and they're some of the best and least appreciated pseudoscience i have ever seen
It was more than 50 years ago that I first laid hands on a set of Rorschach blots. I remember it vividly because I was awestruck at the prospect of being permitted into the inner sanctum of clinical psychology. During the next two years, I became even more excited about the test as I served as a summer intern, first with Samuel Beck and then with Bruno Klopfer. There were no limits to my admiration for the seemingly magical ways that they culled information about people from no more than a handful of Rorschach answers. They became two of my professional models, not just because of the wonders they could perform with the Rorschach, but because they were also extraordinarily sensitive about people. At that time, 1 had no idea about my own future with the test, but I did sense that something was wrong in the world of the Rorschach. This was because of the considerable animosity that Beck and Klopfer conveyed toward each other and because of the markedly different approaches that they used when addressing the data and substance of the test. I was truly baffled when I learned that they had not communicated with each other after 1939.
a set of drawings of Luz, showing her path in Stagnant Light through to For Your Sake!
Individual images + lore below!
Concealed
this image depicts Luz more-or-less how she's been presenting from Belos' defeat, up until the events of Stagnant Light!
as 'Concealed' implies, this is her appearance under the effects of the concealment stone, looking happy and healthy and, mysteriously, not having aged a day...
as if to regress and 'go back' to simpler times, the stone has given her a barely altered version of her S1 haircut, which Luz herself paired with clothes similar to the outfit she wore for the majority of the show, wearing purple and whites matched with blue shorts and black leggings
Shattered
this depicts her immediately after the events of Chapter 7 of Stagnant Light, her bloodied hand bandaged after her breakdown.
with the concealment stone gone, many details (besides another sudden inch of height) about her come to light! like her lengthened neglected hair, the crackling scars from being disintegrated and put back together, her eyebrow split, and a gray eye from nearly being petrified by Belos.
not visible are scars on her torso, following the shape of the rib bone adornments and the glowing chest emblem from her Titan form!
Healed
this image depicts Luz how she appears in For Your Sake, and the beginning of Growing Pains!
(new fic namedrop yeooo!!)
she is much happier, having learned to look after herself and accept her scars as part of her! with the help of healers, physicians, and therapists of course
inspired by the resurgence of the culture on the Isles a full year on from Belos' death, Luz still wears an outfit vaguely reminiscent of her debut outfit, but with a uniquely Demon Realm twist in the form of a purple tunic adorned in white patterns and decorations
oh, and black compression gloves and binder (not visible) to ease her chronic pains and help her get back in the groove of rebuilding the isles!
in the veezine discord server (go join @vee-fanzine) one @branmuffins22 brought up THIS garment and said it is very masha-coded. i could not disagree bc cmon look at it!!!
i then, finally, decided to draw them in it along with a few other things to go with!!
