This is genuinely one of the most vile posts I've ever seen on here.
The idea that transmascs (or any marginalized person, really) are excited about the idea of getting to be "higher" on the social ladder than someone else. This is just plain bigotry with literally no basis in reality.
This post already has hundreds of uncrtical reblogs. Knowing that, at minimum, hundreds of people think this of transmascs makes me sick to my stomach. When history looks back on your hatred I will not be forgiving any of you.
Never forget when I was at a party and I told a newly out trans man that he could tell the gross cis Grindr men to fuck themselves if they were harrassing him and a trans woman stepped in to tell me off because "They might actually be closeted trans women"
Literally wanting trans men & mascs to accept transphobia, harrassment, fetishisation and bullying from cis men online on the OFF CHANCE that they could potentially be trans women.
The entitlement trans women and femmes have to center themselves in every aspect of community and constantly treat trans men and mascs like shit is actually fucking insane and I'm fucking sick of it.
I am a bit late to this but since it's Disability Pride Month and I don't see my disability talked about a ton, I will gladly get the ball rolling:
I was born with Nemaline Myopathy, which is a disease largely affecting the muscles, physical movements, ability to support my own weight, and fine motor skills. On top of the usual symptoms, I also have craniofacial deformities because of it. My tongue sticks out of my mouth and has pushed my lower jaw forward, causing an underbite and an open bite. I cannot chew solid food, I instead puree canned goods until they're completely liquid and I spoon-feed myself.
I don't know if I should infodump everything into one post, so maybe this can be like an "ask me anything" about my disability! I absolutely want to share everything I know but I also want to get an idea of what others might be curious about
is miles's coat dark red or pink (specifically magenta)
dark red
pink (specifically magenta)
Voting ended onJul 17
my case: i've thought it was red this entire time and i cannot be convinced that it's anything but red. look at that. that's fucking dark red with maybe a little bit of purple in it. but it's fucking RED.
gio's case: Miles Edgeworth is a fucking fruit and he wears pink. if you disagree with me i will shoot you in your own house
I had my T shot today and because I'm afraid of needles I always look away as someone else does the shot for me. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror across from me and I was making this fuckass pose. This sprite was beamed into my brain
This Independence day, are you celebrating the idealized America you remember from better days, or America as it exists today?
By Jane Migliara Brigham
If the architects of our suffering get their way, the phrase ‘Trans American’ will evoke the same historical horrors as the phrase ‘German Jew’. For as much as we like to say that “trans people have always existed”, we don’t like admitting that we, the individual trans people, will not always exist. We are mortal beings with finite lifespans that can be cut short.
Whatever you do, don’t be like Victor Klemperer. Do not attach yourself to a nation that hates you. Do not pretend that the nation that taught itself that people like you need to be removed from society will treat you as an equal when their leader dies.
I freaking hate seeing queer creators that I enjoy and look up to (especially TRANSMASC/TRANS MEN creators!!) be so awful about trans men and mascs trying to talk about how we’re oppressed. Like it’s most definitely not “only trans women” who are being attacked right now.
T has /been/ a controlled substance. “ROGD” was aimed at “mutilated girls”. Do none of you remember the Irreversible Damage book. That Joanne Rowling specifically got mad at gender-neutral language regarding menstruation and periods and said that people transition because of “the allure of escaping womanhood”.
Do all of you think erasure = safety? And that we only are “accidentally” and “less importantly” hurt?
We are all shot at by the same gun, but you still turn the knife on the rest of your kin.
Like I’m sorry but you cannot genuinely look at posts like this being so comfortably directed at us, much of the time without consequence, along with all of the real world things that are done to us, and then look me in the eye and tell me transandrophobia isn’t real. Shut up.
the difference between reproductive abuse between amab and afab trans folks is sending me up the wall a little. Yes, I don’t think people assigned male at birth should be forcibly sterilised or forced to donate biological material in order to receive gender affirming care. However, there is a vast difference between that and being forced to give birth. The rates of corrective rape and impregnation as a form of detransitioning that trans people assigned female at birth face is horrific and insane. Have you ever see a video of someone giving birth? Have you seen the changes their body undergoes physically? Have you seen the sheer amount of painkillers (sometimes denied for various reasons!) that people who give birth are recommended??
have you ever actually watched anything around pregnancy and giving birth??? Like, even so much as a 5 second audio from the process. The amount of physical trauma it carries out on the body and leaves is genuinely the subject of several horror movies. You’ll notice I haven’t even gone into specifics with this post because I’m half-convinced tumblr would ban me.
anyway I’m making this post because with the state of discourse on this site, I’m firmly convinced that if it were the other way around, and the current group of transgender and loudly transandrophobic shitheads were the ones facing the prospect of giving birth, and all the complications that come with it, and all the insanely high risk of fucking dying, and all the political climate that designates anyone with a functioning womb as a fucking incubator, and just the sheer pain and trauma of it alone, we’d never hear the end of it.
again, I cannot restate my point enough that it’s awful that people are forcibly sterilised or put through other forms of reproductive abuse that does not involve pregnancy or giving birth. This should not happen, and should be a part of the conversation around reproductive autonomy within the trans community.
However I’m going to need you to get incredibly fucking real with me for a moment about the disparity between the sides of the conversation here.
Trans men being seen as "undesirable, unfuckable women" after transitioning
Trans men being one of the demographics of the LGBT community at highest risk of rape
Trans men being targets of forced detransition via corrective rape and forced pregnancy
People denying both that this increased risk of rape and forced detransition even exists, and instead attributing it to trans men being "TERFs in waiting"
People insisting that trans men being seen as unfuckable women and/or mentally ill girls protects them from systemic violence and therefore makes them less worthy of protection
would be funny if it wasn't fucking terrifying. When you deny the reality of transandrophobia- when you claim that trans men are lucky to "only" be seen as "ugly mentally ill girls"- you are enabling societal violence against trans men.
I left Twitter cause I got tired of receiving death and rape threats for being a trans woman by fascists on the platform after Musk took over only to wind up on tumblr with a bunch of trans women insisting we do the EXACT same thing to trans men that LGB without the T did to all of us trans people.
They want to dump trans men on their own the same way cis gays did to all trans people.
I refuse to have it. I refuse to turn on my trans brothers. I will shout it over and over from the roof tops that we need to stick together now more than ever. The discourse between fems and mascs is just about the most stupid shit you can possibly do under a fascist regime THAT WANTS YOU FUCKING DEAD.
Don't be a fucking idiot. Touch some grass. Testosterone is not some magical poison that turns you into an evil misogynist. Trans men have experiences with misogyny before they transition. Teansandrophobia is real. Trans men are real men. Testosterone should be free and handed out at your local pharmacy like napkins at McDonald's.
And the best part is that you too can believe all this and still be completely valid as a woman. Recognizing the rights of trans men to exist and be happy and support them in doing so does not invalidate my feminism nor my own identity.
Dr. Alan Hart, a trans man from the USA who pioneered the use of X-ray photography in tuberculosis detection (saving countless lives according to researchers), was "reclaimed" by the lesbian community after his death in 1962, which means he was deadnamed and described as "a women loving woman who had to transition because at the time transsexualism was a quick medicine against sexism and homophobia" by numerous gay and lesbian associations and activists (including Jonathan Ned Katz whom I just quoted and who received many awards for his contributions to... I don't know, transphobia against trans men I guess), even though his widow always expressed how offensive it was to both her and her husband to refer to them as lesbians.
Hart was on testosterone, legally changed his name, and had gotten a hysterectomy (that was described as "unfortunate" by the Right to Privacy gay and lesbian political action committee), making him the first documented trans man to transition in the USA, yet he was characterized as a lesbian woman because cis gays and lesbians had the nerve (when do they NOT have the nerve, dare I say) to think they had the right to "honor [his] life as a woman" by having fundraiser dinners with his deadname attached to them, having college lectures where they talked about him as a lesbian hero, and using she pronouns for him until 2000. The USAmerican trans community, including trans activist Lou Sullivan, had to fight to defend Hart's identity and to have his manhood recognized by the wider community by protesting these lectures and dinners and having a conversation with the Portland chapter of the Lesbian Avengers association, which ended up having a favorable response and joining the trans community in the battle.
I want to end this by reporting the words of Candice Hellen Brown, a trans woman from Portland who wrote a letter to Just Out magazine in 1994 defending Hart's transness:
The Right to Privacy Political Action Committee in Oregon has a big fundraiser every year that is called the [deadname] Hart Dinner. When asked if I am going, I indignantly answer, "Not until they stop using the wrong name and gender for one of our heroes!" His name is Alan [. . .] He never wavered from his identity as a man, and upon his death, his widow continued to insist that he was a man. Why would such a straight man be called a lesbian by the gay community when today we would certainly call him a female-to-male transsexual? [. . .] He was transsexual or, at least, a transgenderist - a true pioneer. One who is seen as a hero by today's transsexual community. Please don't let him be taken away from us by allowing his old name to be used as though it were a badge of honor.
Think about this story every time the "trans men never contributed to anything in history" discourse resurfaces again. If this can happen to a famous historical figure from the USA and from a relatively recent time who medically transitioned and was explicitly out as a trans man, imagine how many others from other countries, historical periods, and situations have been erased or "reclaimed".
I think a lot of people hear "Misandry/hating men isn't a constructive use of time and does harm to marginalised men." and hear instead "You have no reason to be wary of men, they're all victims too".
I, as a trans man, am still wary of cis men I don't know. I am still very aware that a lot of peri-cis white men have not only priviledge, but power over others, including me.
I am also aware that I don't feel safe around people who recite things like "Kill all men" or are self proclaimed misanderists. And this mindset can lead to dangerous ideals of bio-essentialism and even gender-essentialism that labels any man evil, any woman pure, and treats trans men as traitors.
And a lot of these takes lump all men in together when intersex, disabled, trans and men of colour, etc, do not inherintly carry all the same privilege as the white, able bodied, peri-cis man you all default to. In fact they are all oppressed in their own ways. (Money, education and upbringing can also play a part in this)
No one is saying that you can't or shouldn't be wary of men in general, or you can't of had bad experiences with them. But acting as if it is the default of all men does not help anyone but excuse it as something all men do and not an active choice some men make. And something our society does not correctly punish or call out.
The problem is the patriarchy, not a random disabled trans man implying that maybe he understands what oppression feels like.
Insisting on lumping in marginalised men, and the rise in hatred towards trans men lately, does not help anyone. Its not punching up. It's punching sideways.
pretty shocking claim, isnt it? the kind of claim that should be backed up with evidence, right?
well, I agree. in fact, I spent an hour writing up a long reblog proving that the random user @/tomboyfriends is not and has never been the coiner OR the person who popularized the term "transandrophobia", only for the very same person who asked for proof to instantly block me, making my post disappear for everyone else.
I am not going to just drop that. this is now deliberate misinformation being spread by @daughter-of-sapph0, who I now know for sure knows better.
so this is my own original post, documenting her claims and demands for proof, and the post I wrote giving her just that:
below is the reblog chain that led to this.
/end of screenshots
my response:
right. so you admit you vaguely know who saint is, AND that He's the real coiner, but youre claiming that its on ME for thinking that a post that says "the word transandrophobia was coined by a detrans nazi twerf" is about Saint, when there's zero context as to who youre claiming is the "real" coiner. this post is written that way to confuse. even in the screenshots you're using as proof, @/neongreentoxicity immediately knows that person thinks the post is referring to Saint. it is not on me for just reading the post the way its written.
but sure, I will prove how silly this entire conversation is.
this random person who i have NEVER heard of even puts IN that literal post that the word has been used before online, and IN the screenshots you give, @/neongreentoxicity notes that they do know that the word was actually coined on Twitter in 2017. so yall DO know that it is an abject lie to call this person the coiner. she objectively isnt.
also, her bio clearly says "no longer crypto", so she ADMITS she was a crypto all along. crypto terfs exist to spread misinformation and stir up problems in the trans community. this random person ADMITS thats what they were doing!!!!!
but ig now the bar has been moved to proving that she didnt popularize it. fine. thats incredibly easy to prove.
unfortunately, Saint has lost all His posts, as multiple times He was reported repeatedly until He was terminated. so ofc that makes it difficult to prove His popularity, and i know you dont gaf about the actual repeated testimony of people who have been in the community since before this random person's post existed, so I wont even try to use my own experiences as evidence.
but thankfully, we can just use our brains here.
here is that nazi's "coining" post, where op clearly says they didnt coin it, as it already exists. they clearly found the term themselves, and made this post just trying to spread awareness of the term.
lets look down at the bottom. how many notes does this post that apparently "popularized" the term have????? forty-four notes. hmm.
if you go through every other post about transandrophobia on this person's blog, you will see that only ONE other one was made by them. it has fifty-eight notes. interesting.
now lets compare that, shall we?
unfortunately, Saint's old posts are all wiped from this website. I even signed into my old blog where multiple times I helped Hymn find His old posts and sent them to Hymn after he was termed. here's a taste of what that looks like:
genuinely, it goes on and on and on. all of His old posts are gone. its kinda heartbreaking, as its some of the history of our community and a lot of the posts that helped me come to terms with being trans.
all is not lost though. @nothorses (who i will refer to as Grey) is thankfully still around. Grey has been the archiver for our community for quite awhile, and was a mutual and friend of Saint's from the getgo (or at least before I showed up). if you ask around, I promise you that most people will credit either Saint or Grey (or Jaz, or a couple others who routinely reblog from both of them) as where they first came across the term. Grey is always the first to point out that Saint coined it, though ofc now Grey has a lot of original posts and is a trusted figure in the community.
without spending too much time on it (I am sure you can find old Saint posts on Grey's blog somewhere, but I already spent too much time on this post), here is a popular older post of Grey's. no, it is not from before that random person's "coining" post, but it IS just five months later, and you can clearly see that Grey is a popular Tumblr user. this is his original post, and it has six-figure notes.
here is an original post from Sept 2020, wherein Grey uses the term "transandrophobia" and explains its systemic and real-world effects. no, it is not as popular, but as anyone in the community can attest—any post that describes transmasculine oppression using the word "transandrophobia" will never make a lot of notes. however, tons of his original posts from 2020 about transmasculine oppression that do not use the term have a fuckton of notes.
this should be sufficient to prove that he is a popular Tumblr user who blogs about the transmasculine experience. and he has also been using the term transandrophobia since 2020.
now, even if we pretend that this nazi terf liar actually coined the term (which your screenshots definitively prove to be false), how on earth can you claim that she popularized it? she doesnt have a single post on it that breaks three figures. not even 100 people have interacted with her posts.
