YOU S3E10 // S5E10
"Maegor, the First of His Name, came to the throne after the sudden death of his brother, King Aenys, in the year 42 AC. He is better remembered as Maegor the Cruel, and it was a well-earned sobriquet, for no crueler king ever sat the Iron Throne. His reign began with blood and ended in blood as well."
The World of Ice & Fire, The Targaryen Kings: Maegor I.
Third Coin to go, and the one I think came out best. A rough coin for a rough king. I like to think that Visenya wasted no time ordering the minting of this coin after Maegor's very democratic coronation. A very deliberate choice of titles, for who else to protect Aegon's kingdom than the current rider of Balerion the Black Dread? The Iron Throne will go to the man who has the strength to seize it, indeed.
"It was Aenys, Aegon's firstborn son by his beloved Rhaenys, who came to the throne in the year 37 AC at the age of thirty. He was crowned with great ceremony in the Red Keep in the midst of its construction, donning an ornate golden crown rather than his father's circlet of Valyrian steel. . . . . . Still, Aenys remained a dreamer, a dabbler in alchemy, a patron of singers and mummers and mimes. Moreover, he hungered too much for approval, and this led him to dither and hesitate over his decisions for fear of disappointing one side or another. It was this flaw that most marred his reign and brought him to an early and ignominious end." The World of Ice and Fire - The Targaryen Kings: Aenys I
Part Two of my Westerosi Monarchs' Coins. Poor Aenys, he would have been happier and lived longer had he not been a king. Nevertheless, as a king it's almost a given that they minted a coin with his likeness after his coronation. And as the heir to Aegon's legacy and new kingdom, King's Landing would have the splendor and funds to cut a dragon with more percentage of gold for Aenys' coins. Though it's almost sure that in the current Asoiaf timeline almost none of these coins would have survived to see the fall of the Targaryen Dynasty
Dunk took a closer look. The face on the coin was young, clean-shaved, handsome. King Aerys was bearded on his coins, the same as old King Aegon. King Daeron, who'd come between them, had been clean-shaved, but this wasn't him. The coin did not appear worn enough to be from before Aegon the Unworthy. Dunk scowled at the word beneath the head. Six letters. They looked the same as he had seen on other dragons. Daeron, the letters read, but Dunk knew the face of Daeron the Good, and this wasn't him. When he looked again, he saw that something odd about the shape of the fourth letter, it wasn't… "Daemon," he blurted out. "It says Daemon. There never was any King Daemon, though, only—"
The Mystery Knight
Decided to make those Targaryen monarch coins I was always talking about that were missing in the HBO adaptations, and since Daeron the Good is my fave Targ king I started with him (yes I know the text states that he's not bearded in his coins but I can headcanon that he grew one in his later years, maybe in his grief after the tourney at Ashford and before the Great Spring Sickness)
Will probably remake it in the future, but for now it will serve as the first part of my Westerosi Monarchs' Coins series. While researching the Valyrian word for King I came across the word Darys, which I decided to go with it for the Targs, but it will definitely will be missing from Robert's and Joffrey's coins, which will probably be just King in Common

Here are my character designs for Chivalry, Verity, and Regal (from the Farseer Trilogy)! My headcanon is that Chivalry and Fitz wear the same blue :DDD
Verity gets minimal embroidery because he’s described as wearing similar clothes as his soldiers; Regal, on the other hand, is very fancy XDD
Assassin’s Apprentice, chapter 15: Burrich tends to Fitz while reminiscing on his dealings with Galen. I wanted to contrast Burrich’s harshness against Galen with his gentleness towards Fitz, hence the focus on his hands.
Man, I just love Fitz and Burrich’s dynamic so much! :’’’D
Guess who finally got a copy of Royal Assassin and binge-read it in a few days? XDDD I’ll definitely get some art done for it, but in the meantime, have some Fitz and the Fool (and Smithy) from chapter 13 of Assassin’s Apprentice!
Also, this is technically my first time drawing a doggo, even with a reference pic, so please go easy on me loll
I didn’t give Chivalry long hair for nothing lmaoo
Anyways, I ship Chivalry and Burrich now XDD My headcanon for this is that Burrich regularly braided Chiv’s hair (y’know, like he braids the horses’ manes), and that’s how he started developing Feels! Also, I imagine this is when they’re younger, around their early twenties, so I left out their beards!
Alrighty it’s time to get into spoilery Royal Assassin fanart, starting with Fitz and the Fool in chapter 20! There’s already an official illustration for this scene, but I wanted to do my own take on it ^^;;
