My representation of the Arthur Parnassus from “the House in the cerulean sea”
"I want to be remembered as the Anti-JK-Rowling."
"JK Rowling the billionaire author (which, by the way, billionaires should not exist) who instead of using her wealth and reach to better our world has decided to spend her days on Twitter attacking trans people for having the audacity to exist. Imagine, you are one of the BIGGEST authors the world has ever known, writing books for standing up for what's right, only to turn into the villain you warned about.
"What a slap in the face that is. What an absolute betrayal. People like that - people who think that they are somehow better than others, more human, deserve to be shunned from society, no ifs, ands, or buts, and nothing less than just that. At the end of the day, Rowling has no idea who I am, and that's okay. I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing, writing for my community who deserves to see themselves in books.
"Our stories matter. Important stories that show all the different facets of our lives. Stories where we get to be the heroes. Stories where we get to be the villains. Stories where our truths are put down on page. Trans and nonbinary authors like Ryka Aoki, Anna Marie Macklemore, Andrew Joseph White. Those authors are telling trans stories in a way that no one has ever done before, putting trans characters front and center where they belong in stories that defy imagination."
TJ Klune Library Journal Day of Dialog 5/9/2024
tj klune deserves more recognition for creating happy queer stories. we need them. our lives are not a tragedy.
“Strange,” he said. “You’re so strange. Are you dreaming? Somewhere, in there. Your battery is dead. But are you really gone?”
There we go! My little illustration for TJ Klune’s In The Lives of Puppets. Not actually a scene that takes place in the book mind you but inspired by a couple different ones here and there. Vic putting Hap back together using wood is such an interesting visual in my mind.
if there’s one thing i know about tj klune, it’s that he loves to write about a cool-ass house in the middle of nowhere
and i will read every single book he whips out!!
I saw this image of Athena and Odysseus and it was too freaking funny🤣🤣

ASKSKSMK IM NORMAL ABOUT THIS ART
for me it's just. when i say stede bonnet is cringe what i mean is that most people have a little voice in their brain that stops them from saying things like "i'm stede! i'll be your robber here today," or "i'm replacing the books i've looted with ones i've already read!" or "i might be landed gentry but i'm thrilled to be granted entry." or from wearing brightly colored wildly impractical clothes because you love them. or from running away from an entire perfectly safe and comfortable life where all your decisions are made for you to do something you love the idea of but will almost certainly be unbelievably bad at. and what that voice would be saying is you can't do that, everyone will think you're cringe. stede bonnet doesn't listen to that voice, and the narrative of ofmd thinks that's something to admire about him, and that is something i like about him and about the show
i'm cringe but i'm free

I honestly don't understand where the idea of Snape being ugly and him spending his entire life alone because he was "so ugly no one could love him" comes from. And I’m not just talking about Snaters here.
Even many Snape fans insist that any artwork of him or the actor chosen for his role must have a hideous, monstrous face. I constantly see posts where people demand a "disgusting, ugly Snape" because they say, “that’s canon Snape.”
Yes, Snape doesn’t fit conventional beauty standards, and he’s never described as handsome. But that doesn’t mean we should turn him into some kind of grotesque creature with zero appeal. This is yet another instance where Snape’s character falls victim to a black-and-white worldview. Just because someone isn’t described as beautiful doesn’t automatically make them hideous or unbearable to look at.
(Part of the idea that canon Snape must be ugly and repulsive seems to stem from the fact that he came from a working-class background and didn’t appear to have any romantic relationships. It’s as if people forget that the real obstacle between Snape and a romantic relationship with Lily was his obsession with the Dark Arts—not his looks, his clothes, or his lack of wealth.)
I can think of plenty of people in the real world who are like Snape. They’re not stunningly beautiful, but they’re not ugly either. They have average, normal faces, and some might even be attractive or "hot" depending on personal taste.
next prompt of @superfallingstars's snapetober "haunt"
it seems everyone's doing lily and severus and i won't be the exception. i've been thinking about Severus' loneliness in DH and how he had very little to hold on to. in the heart of the enemy, hated by people he was protecting, losing the only person who knew his true self. it must've been an incredible torture, and he definitely had his moments of weakness when he was alone.
so i guess i wanted to draw a gentle haunting.
