When consciousness trickles back in, the first coherent thought that enters his mind is Did I hurt anyone?

The second one that kicks in immediately after is Ow.

Bruce wonders if he’ll ever wake up in this body without some semblance of pain. It’s such an intimately familiar companion by now that if he wakes up feeling normal, he’ll think he’s been experimented on and somehow, they’ve come up with a way to transfer his mind into another body because this isn’t his.
