ZUTARA WEEK - DAY 2: Warmth

For warmth, I necessarily didn't focus on the literal meaning of it, which is heat. I represented warmth through physical affection, which is important to both Zuko and Katara. Touch is a boundary they share until they slowly become vulnerable to one another. It starts off as something small, as we see in the Crystal Catacombs, and then develops into its conclusion: a mutual embrace born out of genuine understanding and forgiveness. I decided to represent this through the Italian Renaissance style of "Tondo". For context, the Tondo style is a circular painting/artwork. The word "tondo" means round, but in this art style, the term symbolizes unity and eternity. I found that PERFECT for Zuko and Katara's relationship: connection and eventful trust.

found an image from the movie Painted Skin on pinterest and Immediately thought of Zuko in his Firelord era, so I drew it bcs why not and damn it fits so much jsjs

I tried to play a with a little bit of a meaning to the piece, attempting to make zuko look fierce and stuff while his reflection has more of an insecure and scared expression. Y'know, typical Zuko shit.
