I spent all weekend in the car (and I was the only one driving!) so I’m not really with it right now but I spent a lot of that time relistening to the Will Darling trilogy by KJ Charles

Which reminded why I was so nonplussed when people were like ‘wdym it’s slow burn but they are fucking the whole time??’ about Heated Rivalry

Anyway, yeah the books are completely different including that KJ Charles is a better writer than Rachel Reid AND the audiobooks are much better

EXCEPT that the relationship vibes are so very very similar

One of my favourite authors, KJ Charles, has a new book out and ny pre-order came in the mail today. I'm around page 60 and am loving it, but I just wanted to share her gem of a copyright page:

Buffy really is the show of all time huh. I am seven (7) episodes in and they have already scraped the bottom of the barrel without even touching the top. What do you mean they have already done praying mantis demons and hyena possession before more ordinary things like werewolves or demons. Like this is season one. Teen Wolf didn't start pulling that kind of thing until about season 4. I am convinced all the writers were doing multiple lines of coke before coming up with the ideas for each episode.

The thing about this show is that it finishes the arc of the premise (save our town from supernatural demon with the power of friendship!) in the first two episodes. like yes it takes a whole season to kill the big bad, but the very baseline is gotten out of the way immediately to leave room for much more exciting plot lines like the existential evil of helicopter momagers and how your worst nightmares WILL follow you into real life and yeah. hyena possession.
