[Image ID: A traditional drawing in highlighter, pen, and pencil. In the middle of the drawing stands Gordon Freeman, a broad-shouldered white person with short hair, glasses, and a goatee, viewed from the front. He is visible from the knees up, clutching a crowbar to his chest just under the Lambda logo on his HEV suit. The lambda logo and the armour plating on his suit are partially orange, while otherwise Gordon is colourless. He looks worried.
Behind Gordon are multiple things: a pair of colourless, disembodied, feathery wings, coming from his shoulders, and a Vortigaunt logo: an eye with three smaller eyes in a semi-circle above it, with the top eyes closed and the bottom eye open.
In the top left and right respectively, above Gordon’s wings, are a headcrab and a barnacle, and a houndeye. The headcrab and barnacle are drawn in orange while the houndeye is in blue. They are all drawn in the same style as Gary’s murals from Half-Life: Alyx.
Finally, above Gordon is G-Man, drawn abstractly. Gman is drawn as a circle of eyes inside the loop of a tie, shown above a briefcase detailed with lines and dots. The tie is accented in purple and the briefcase is accented in brown. Below Gordon, under everything else, purple and red text reads: “ONE FREE”, and then, crossed out in red, “MAN”. End ID]
I feel like Gordon would have trauma from being constantly hailed as the ‘one free man’, among other things. I took that idea and ran with it; therefore, my interpretation is that Gordon is nonbinary due to his trauma. (He still uses he/him in this interpretation, however.)
