I was rewatching The Enemy Within and all I could think about is how this was literally Kirk’s headspace throughout the whole episode:

Vulcan is a desert planet, especially the area Spock is from. Those dorks can handle HEAT what they can’t handle is humidity.

you know how for a lot of people being in heat makes them turn Evil(Tm)? Humidity does that to Vulcans. No one notices except for the Vulcans themselves but put these guys in a wet/damp (hot or cold) planet and they’re ten seconds away from breaking a table in half. They’re been talking about philosophy for an hour, no voices have been raised but phrases are getting shorter and shorter. Everyone around them is Worried.

I think Spock can adapt better to the humidity due to his human half but he’s still not used to it at all. Jim takes him to a hot water spring, and there’s a solid five minutes before they get into the water where Spock considers the pros and cons of breaking up with Jim Right Now just so he can return to the ship.

Every so often if I’m feeling down I remind myself that Erid and Vulcan canonically orbit the same star, 40 Eridani A, ergo during the events of phm they shared a single Petrova line.

So that means Rocky and Grace are the historical figures who saved Vulcan from extinction.

Since Mary’s ship logs were dispersed and studied, I like to imagine that Vulcans think of Rocky and Grace with a sort of reverence. Maybe they have statues of them in the Katric Ark. In the Kelvin timeline, after the events of Nero, the old symbols and statues are resurrected on New Vulcan, this time with some new additions.

And that is how the city center of New Shikahr ends up having four prominent statues; an Eridian and a Terran who saved Vulcan’s planet, and a Vulcan and his Terran Captain who could not save the planet but managed to preserve Vulcan culture along with the Elders and save as many lives as they could which allowed the Vulcan race to avoid extinction once again.

Bonus HC: Jim and Spock argue for years over whether Grace was more prominently a ship captain or a science officer, both wanting to claim him as one of their own. Scotty always happily reminds them that the real hero was the engineer who saved him.

I love the “captain’s log” mechanism in Star Trek as a method for time skips and exposition.

I am, however, devastated that we never got an episode where any captain’s voiceover is strained and slow. very precise about the events they’re describing. While the screen itself is showing the most batshit insane events and making it clear that the captain is trying VERY HARD to keep everyone involved out of a court martial.

Jim loves the feline vocalisations Spock can make, despite the latters reticence due to the emotional implications they carry. He loves hearing him purr and the occasional trill in the back of his throat that he tries to swallow down, thinks its the cutest thing ever.

It pisses McCoy off though because why the hell does that green blooded hobgoblin keep rumbling and huffing at him. I like to think Spock will also do that thing cats do when they refuse to look at their owners when they're annoyed, to McCoy.

some people really don’t realize how privileged they are that they get fanfics for free. imagine having access to something for free because someone is kind enough to share it with you… and then being rude, entitled and an ungrateful pos to that person who was kind enough to share their creation with you for free

“almost 1 year is a lil too much for me” fuck off. fanfic writers don’t owe you anything. one of my favorite fics was updated after 13 years, and what I did is that I thanked the author for choosing to continue the work, I didn’t act like a spoiled toddler by asking why they didn’t update sooner. and even if a writer chooses to abandon their fic permanently with no explanation, that is their choice, their hobby, their decision. they don’t owe your entitled ass anything.

you people let tiktok rot your brains to the point you see everything as content farm and engagement. not a piece of art created by the artist’s love and passion. it’s dystopian.
