Let's just say the man is accustomed to a certain life style and having to sleep in a tent and eat canned food is a novel experience. The man packed cologne and pomade in his suitcase because even when he's roughing it he's got to groom those side burns.
It's so true though. Watson just cannot with Jekyll/Hyde.
Just to reiterate how stinking rich Jekyll/Hyde was he had 250,000 pounds sterling in the 1880s that's more than the vast majority of people would see in their entire lives. It's the equivalent of like 40-50 million in USD today. And that wasn't even including equity, the book seems to imply that those are his liquid assets. I also personally head canon that he has never lived outside of the city and struggled after faking his death to get by without servants. This man is not built for the wilderness and has grossly underestimated how rough an extended period of camping is.
That said, he still manages to get by, but he is bitching and whining the whole time because he's cold, his socks are wet, and he hasn't had anything to eat that wasn't reconstituted shelf stable rations in about a week.
Watson by comparison was living off of about 250-300 pounds per year from his military pension and that was enough to live on comfortably for your average middle class Victorian and he is well accustomed to roughing it. He has zero patience for this rich boy.
That's accurate! Watson is the first member of the crew to clock that Hyde comes from a rich background. It takes him a little longer to cotton on that Hyde is at least as old as he is but he does when Hyde accidentally lets slip some details from when he was in medical school and Watson realizes that this man went to medical school at the same time he did.
(Don't worry, I'll draw what Leon's 'pectines' look like soon! But If you're wondering what the hell pectines even are, they're comb like appendages located on a scorpion's underside and are used to 'feel' the ground beneath them when they scuttle around.)

The airport’s a mess. The outside is crawling with the Army, National Guard, and anyone else the government could bully into showing up. The inside is crawling with infected, people in pajama pants and neck pillows, carrying briefcases and backpacks and anything else they couldn’t generate enough brain power to let go of.
The survivors radioed in, they’re holed up in an exclusive lounge area, barricaded in. One of them is a sitting Senator, which is probably the only thing standing between this airport and several hundred pounds of plastic explosives.
Leon’s damn glad that Ashley insisted he have a ‘disguise fit.’ The brown trench-coat and false ‘bag’ for his tail won’t exactly get him under the radar with his height, but the twitchy Reservists with automatics are way less likely to ice the next undiscovered NBA star than a giant bug with a pistol.
There’s no reason to shed the coat or the scarf around his neck and face (a gift from Luis with Ashley’s help, a nice blue with a subtle pattern) as he works, making his way through the airport. He has to detour around the entire Boeing currently making the atrium its home, but he works fast.
In the back of his head, Leon almost wishes he had this armor back in RC. It would’ve made navigating the sewers easier, anyways.
Probably still end up with a septic bullet hole in his shoulder, though, so it wouldn’t all be winners.
Something’s going on around the corner, infected yells garble out half-coherent vowels, just almost loud enough to drown out the female voice bellowing insults right back. There’s no gunfire, but there is a steady rhythm of concussive thwacks, like she’s trying to beat the zombies away with a baseball bat.
He rounds the corner, gun drawn and tail poised, and takes out a dozen infected before he even really turns to look at the survivor.
Standing there, panting and splattered in the aftermath—wielding, ironically, a red and white umbrella—is none other than Claire Redfield.
“Finally,” she says as Leon frantically tugs his hood back into place. “God. Was starting to wonder if they were gonna send anybody in for us after all.”
He coughs and turns, surveying the room to avoid looking at her. “Yes, well. Uh. You okay?”
Claire snorts. “Didn’t they teach you at cop school to look people in the eye when you ask them questions? Come on, Kennedy, I don’t bite.”
Leon startles. “I—Claire—hm. It’s…”
She smirks back at him. “You think I wouldn’t recognize those N-Sync bangs anywhere? Get real. What’re you doing here?”
“My job?”
“Okay, rephrase. What’re you doing here, wearing… stilts? And dressing like a store-brand Tyrant? What the hell, Leon?”
He winces. “Would you accept that it’s a long story?”
“Accept? Yes. Stop at? Absolutely not. When we get out of this airport, you and I are gonna have a talk,” Claire says. “The only thing that’s important for here and now is, are you still you?”
Leon lets out a heavy breath and settles onto his haunches to look her in the eye while he pulls down the scarf. She winces, but slides right past ‘horrified’ into ‘idly curious.’ “The first night after we got out of the city, Sherry got under the covers in that gross motel and she cried herself to sleep. The next morning you two got into a joke argument about if it was a comforter or a duvet, and you both ended up in hysterics and every time I asked what you were laughing about it just got louder.”
Claire thinks on it, mulls it over for half a second, then sighs. She bounces a soft punch off his shoulder, thankfully not the armored one, and grins. “So give me the Reader’s Digest version.”
“Caught a nasty parasite in rural Spain a little while back, got a makeover I didn’t sign up for,” he says plainly, scrunching up his eyes and lifting his mandibles slightly in a smile, “but I’m still me. Promise.”
“Just taller and pointier.”
“Exactly.”
“More or less of a nerd around pretty girls than you used to be?”
“Rude.”
Claire laughs. “I’m glad you’re here. I mean, I’m not glad you’re here, but I’m… you know what I mean.”
“Glad to have backup you know has your six.”
“Exactly.”
Leon reaches into his coat and brings out a spare gun and a box of ammo. It looks like a toy in his hand, but Claire lights up the second she sees it.
“Oh, Leon S. Kennedy, I could kiss you. Right on your weird buggy mouth. I can’t believe you’re still carrying this old girl around! Can those Flintstone mitts even get under the trigger guard anymore?” she asks, taking the pistol gently, running a thumb over the grip like a child’s forehead.
His face heats up, and not for the first time, he’s glad it’s pretty hard to tell when he’s blushing these days. “Not really. But I don’t feel right going out without her, as silly as that sounds.”
Claire expertly checks the chamber, discarding the umbrella like an afterthought. “It’s okay, Tilly. The Redfields know how to show a girl a good time.”
Leon rolls his eyes and straightens up. “Alright, Casanova, let’s find the other survivors and get the hell out of here. …Did you nickname my gun?”
Claire takes point, easy as anything. Leon follows closely. “Technically, Sherry did. But who am I to argue?”
“She already has a name!”
“Yeah, but look at her. She doesn’t look much like a Matilda to me.”
He snorts. “You’re insane.”
“I’m not the one doing this for a day job.”

Leon: … Why do you call me Matilda at all?!
Claire: Well… not like we can call you both Tilly either.

This is definitely a situation where i can see Leon wearing this, with so many people at the airport he needs to cover up so he doesn't cause a panic.

The notion that humans are an invasive species is an ecofascist belief. We evolved just like every other animal, we are meant to be here just like they are. This is our home and we have a duty to care for it and change the environment for the better!
Every single person has the power to make a meaningful impact on the planet. I had the most fireflies in my town this summer simply because I have a large area where the grass is never cut.
Please do not give up because you think the planet is too far gone and it’s hopeless. It isn’t. Please fight.
