Why is “barely legal” pornography always about age? I think they should experiment with teetering on other types of illegality. For example, they could film just outside of a restricted military area.

Thank you Ken! Very cool.
This also the mood I get into when I hear the name Jeff Bezos.
I like Ken. Him in response to right wing media framing him as being transphobic:
Once in a lifetime astronomical marvel!

An anon shared her roommate conflict with a dedicated account that posts rants about college roommates(OP).
Cnetizens:

@photomatt should kill himself.
I genuinely hope this circulates forever.
and my take today is that framing misogynistic writing as an "inability to write female characters" subconsciously takes away most of the blame, implying that women are an alien creature compared to men and that it is no fault of the writer because it's out of their skill set. it's not an inability, not a lack of expertise, it's the simple refusal to consider women as individual people and give them the same depth and grace that comes easily to the writer when they write male characters. it's not that christopher nolan, stephen king, james cameron (and frankly anyone using the argument, both professional and hobbyist; yes, that includes fanfic writers) etc can't write women, it's that they just won't. at that point in time it is a conscious decision driven by the laziness to unpack their misogynistic biases, and should be addressed as such
whenever a transmed draws the hypothetical non-dysphoric "fake" trans person it always looks identical to how transphobes draw trans people. which could mean nothing

Hey all Twitch streamer, Twitch has you opt in by default that your streams will be use to train GenAI. To opt out, you have to go your "Settings" and in the tab "Security and Privacy." At the bottom of the tab, there is the "Training for Generative AI" setting.
The indian burial ground trope is weird cause it's like. Obviously the horror is white people being haunted by their own sins, right. The colonialism. Murdering these people and paving over their graves. But they literally never frame it that way they're too racist so it's still, like, subliminal white guilt under a thick layer of "what if the savage ndns come back 😨" like the scary thing here is YOU LOL
Thinking about The Shining (1980) more specifically because I watched it the other day ... if we want to have a pretty generous reading, yknow, Jack is textually explicitly racist in a way that we could interpret all of this as On Purpose. Especially considering we don't see any Native ghosts, just white men going insane and killing people, as they are wont to do. The donner party shoutout towards the beginning is a fun gesture to this white people tendency. But generally this trope is executed in a way that's really not self aware it's just spooky ndns. And I'm not convinced King or Kubrick were *really* thinking about it that wokely, either
The implication seems more vague about this place, the land itself, remembering the violence that happened here & driving people to madness and/or maybe possessing them, influencing their behavior.. It's a little ambiguous. Which I love supernatural ambiguity as you know but I really cannot stress enough that if ndns fight you trying to desecrate their graves you're the bad guy like that part is pretty cut and dry actually
It's also frequently pretty unnecessary set dressing. What if you were in a haunted hotel cause a guy went crazy and killed his family in there ... and there were dead ndns also. Implying it's the dead ndns fault. Man white people just do that sometimes
I've always thought it had less to do with overt colonialism and more to do with the importation of European ghost story conventions into North America. Like if you had a version of the Shining set in England, you would have a whole run down if the sordid history of this property, how it used to be an aristocratic manor house run by a lord notable for his cruelty and then before that it was a convent for nuns suspected of Satanism and then before that it was the centre of an ancient Roman mystery cult, which they appropriated from some druids and so on. But in America, the best you can do is some vague handwaving about burial grounds
saw a post on bluesky about reimagining The Iliad as a mecha war and that idea goes unbelievably hard. achilles in his legally distinct gundam cutting through dozens of enemy suits. aggamemnon in his gold-plated mech. paris using a long range sniper rifle to exploit a design flaw in achilles' armor. the gods are all various megacorps who have a stake in the war bc it'll impact their profits.
