I made a dnd character named Morthos the Destroyer. He's a trust fund, crypto, secret furry streamer, and the absolute worst. But he's also the most pathetic uni professor you've ever seen, so i drew him cute. Guess what's in his locket, and you get a prize.

Holden chain smoking animation because I KNOW he destroyed his lungs dealing with the stress that he felt throughout that story. I also put him in shadows cause he’s very moody and always thinking T-T. I made this for my catcher in the rye zine so formatting it from a moving animation to a bunch of still frames was fun :p

More zine stuff! I really like the idea of a Catcher in the Rye adaptation where Holden talks to the audience throughout. Kinda like a mix between fleabag and the emperor's new groove.

I imagine this is how tough Holden pictures himself after being punched [for the 2nd time that week ;0;] The song I’m referencing is Virgin Viens by Coma Cinema. It describes the angst that not only Holden goes through but that many other teenagers experience. Seeing yourself warp and change inside and out through adolescence for the better or worse. You start coping with finding your ideals and identity whilst also juggling thoughts of sexuality. You may hate everyone, you may hate yourself, you may realize that everything you thought you were was a product of parroting your peers, only to start parroting different people. It’s a period of absolute confidence and soul crushing insecurity. That's because it's a taste of adulthood. To my insane teenage self [and to Holden Caulfield] , continue making mistakes and grow from it. Let others in but take everything people say with a grain of salt. Stay strong, but be kind. Growing up might be an ugly process, but know you’re not alone. :)

Catcher in the rye art book is coming along :p!!! Holden being the manager of the Fencing team sounds strange and thus being the only one trying to get the team to the tournament location sounds like a real recipe for disaster. But him forgetting all the foils on the subway and then getting insulted by his whole team on the way back to Pency sure is on brand. His propensity to deflect is also shown here when he talks about the whole situation being “pretty funny” when it clearly must have sucked to accidentally fuck over the whole team on your last week at a preparatory school you flunked out of. (Edit: put the gray hair on the wrong side of his head lol)
