Think tanks explicitly founded to "abolish transgenderism" will publish a report that's like "there's no evidence that trans healthcare works if you ignore all the evidence" and be taken seriously, meanwhile actual researchers go "there's seriously NO evidence that gatekeeping helps" and get ignored
Like on the one hand there's new papers each year going "So it turns out that there's literally no fucking reason to restrict transition access based on these arbitrary criteria, and in fact, they were explicitly made up by some Danish fuck because he was personally obsessed with the idea that trans people were demons, and as it turns out the only measurable impacts of this policy are to increase risks to the patient" that have no impact on the healthcare systems they're criticizing whatsoever.
And then, on the other hand, you've got "Shockingly, this life-altering treatment that massively impacts how the patient is perceived by others in all facets of life is primarily supported by observational studies, as opposed to the enormous violations of bodily autonomy and human dignity necessary to perform a true randomized control trial. We recommend that treatment ceases immediately because you don't understand how evidence-based medicine works." And that becomes a linchpin of the politics of multiple European countries' trans healthcare politics for the next several years.
It's fucking clown world. Nobody who enabled this should be in a position of any power whatsoever.
No more waiting, no more debating, go get your hrt. "I don't know if I'm really trans!" You are. Now go. "I'm scared!" We all were. Now go. "There's a long wait to be seen!" Go get your name on the list then. DIY if you need. "What if my friends don't accept me?" They weren't really your friends. Now go. "What if my spouse doesn't accept me?" Get a divorce. Now go. You do not need to continue to live in agony and depression to pretend to be someone else. Go get your hrt.

GLaDOS voice: "Would you like to see some artwork I generated? I've heard from other test subjects that AI-generated artwork produces an uncanny valley response in human viewers because they can't perceive it as fully real. They've told me that it looks absolutely hideous to them, that they can't imagine anything more disgusting than AI art. But, well I've been practicing and wanted your honest opinion. Feel free to let me know how ugly you find this by ranking it on a scale from 'vomit-inducing' to 'eye-bleeding'." A robotic arm lowers from the ceiling holding a hand mirror up to Chell's face
Last year JK Rowling personally funded a group called Sex Matters to amend UK law so that trans women *overnight* went from legally women to legally men. This has resulted in mass exclusion of the trans community from numerous organizations, along with ongoing violent assaults on both trans and cis women alike.
With the new Harry Potter series she will be making a reported $20 million per-season renewal + other performance dependent royalties. She has been open across multiple interviews regarding her intentions to use said funds to push forth even more trans targeted legislation in the years to come.
This isn’t a “she gets paid no matter what” situation. The more eyeballs on this show the more money she has to actively harm vulnerable communities. By engaging with it you are directly supporting this and otherwise making a conscious choice to consume HP over doing the literal very least possible to not destroy the lives of trans people across the world.
If my stating the objective facts above upsets you then feel free to unfriend and move along. Your nostalgia-goggles feelings for a tired, problematic franchise mean nothing to me compared to the welfare of my trans friends and loved ones."

If a trans girl tells you that she wants to start dressing more femme and your response is "but you're conforming to gender stereotypes" then she is entitled to punch you in the face as hard as she wants
Also, if a trans girl says she wants to go on hormones and your response is "but you're still valid if you don't get hrt" then she is also entitled to punch your face as hard as she wants
reblog this version you fucking cowards
hey remember how one of my theories about the harassment against patricia was that regurgitating the false claims & misrepresentations allows you to justify having mistreated her in the past? & it lets you characterize her as someone it's ok to mistreat?
like. person A says "you underpaid me", "you treated me badly", etc. person B replies "ok well youre a Groomer so who cares." like it's not subtle, the transmisogynist allegation is itself a response, a defence, & a cudgel. it lets you retreat & reframe the discussion into some juvenile Morality Scaling bullshit. "ohh youre saying ive wronged you? umm well have you considered that youre a worse person than me so it doesnt count?" the transmisogyny at play lets you get away with mistreating her, it lets you escape consequence or accountability for mistreating her. you get to leverage the vitriol people have already heaped onto her to get observers onto your side. willful & eager invocation of privilege allows you to rewrite the conversation from "litigating your behaviour" to "litigating her character"
Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.
post so nice had to reblog it twice and force it down everyone's throats
At minimum about 4.5 thousand people liked this without reblogging it.
We gotta fix that.

it literally isn’t cheating if you start a fling with a tgirl that happens to have a chaser boyfriend. his existence should be treated like an afterthought.
what if i want it to be cheating?
"I'm sorry, I just, I have a boyfriend."
"Do you?" She furrows her eyebrows at the way you asked the question. "Wha…"
"I haven't seen you with a boyfriend."
"I showed up with him, he's-"
"Outside? He's been outside a lot tonight, huh? I've had my eye on you for two hours, and not once have you been on his arm. You keep checking your phone like you're waiting on something, but I don't think he's coming, baby."
Her confidence falters a note. "He's just, he went out for a smoke, he said he was coming back in…" You raise your eyebrows to reinforce your previous assertion. She falters under it, and reaches over with one hand to grasp her other forearm.
You sidle a little closer to her, bumping your arm into the fridge she's been standing next to, looking lonely. "I noticed you've been checking her out all night." You gesture at a redhead across the room wearing slightly too much lipstick. That one's been running her mouth to the little woman next to her on the couch ever since the party's host disbanded the half-assed attempt at icebreaker games, and the yearning on your conversational partner's face was so loud that you immediately knew she was missing something important in her life.
She blushes and turns away. "No, I, well, I just think she's really beautiful."
"You want me to get her number for you?" You don't want to get that number for her, but you know this pretty little thing is going to flinch at the notion of actually getting what she wants.
She plays right into your hands. "She's busy, and she's talking to that girl, and besides, she wouldn't want m-…" She tucks her lips between her teeth to smother the rest of the sentence, and she drifts to staring down between her feet.
You take a step forward and a bold step in the conversation, getting close enough to tuck a finger under her chin and lift to force eye contact. You murmur "She wouldn't want you? Why wouldn't she want you? Girl, you're a catch. You didn't come here all dressed up to look at the floor, did you?"
Her eyes get a few drops more watery, and she almost pulls away from your touch, but you take a second finger and run it under her chin again, and she almost puckers as she leans into the touch. A thirst she doesn't seem willing to admit touches her lips for a moment, but then she tries to protest "I came with my boyfriend-"
"Yeah yeah, your boyfriend. But I don't see him here now, with you. You're right here, with me, and I can see what he's missing."
You can feel the desperation in the way she leans forward. "What he's missing? What do you mean?"
"He showed up to the party with the most beautiful girl here, and somehow he's gotten fixated on the reflection in his truck's bumper outside instead of keeping an eye on his woman. I think he should be taught a lesson."
She pulls back a little past your outstretched fingers, but you don't cede distance, and she step back into the ample space available. "What? What are you saying? A lesson? He's just outside, he just, he was just getting a cigarette from her, he's coming back soon…"
"Oh, so he was talking to some girl? And somehow he forgot about you?"
She's on the verge of tears. "I, well, she was…" Her voice drops to a whisper, right about to break. "She's trans too, so…"
A cord unzips around your throat, the friction painful as you see this poor girl push herself aside to make way in her relationship for someone else just because they share a demographic with her. You step further forward and cup her jaw, staring deep into her eyes. "Oh, sweetie, do you think that's why he's with you?"
With an impressive degree of fortitude she manages to return your gaze, and you can see something vulnerable inside her unfurling under your attention. She murmurs out "He just said I'm his type, that he has a thing for tgirls-"
You cut her off with gentle firmness. "Baby girl, 'tgirl' is something that you get to say, not him. Do you like being called that?"
Her cheeks go red and she shakes her head in your hand a little. "I just want to be a woman, but-"
"No 'but' anything. You are a woman, and you deserve to be called that. What do you want to be called? How does gorgeous sound?"
Her lips part, and you can feel her breathing coming heavier. You adjust your grip to hold her chin like a chalice filled with angelic ambrosia, and you continue "Delightful? Sweet thing?" That gets a shiver out of her, and you can tell that if you find just the right phrase, you might get a moan out of her.
The air etches with the truest sentence of the evening: "Are you my little girl?"
You get the moan you were aiming for, and in the breathless moments she fails to respond you take another step forward and wrap your arms around her waist. You can see stars light in her eyes at your proximity, and she bites her lip for a moment before she remembers the chastity she's so foolishly trying to withhold. "Wait, no, I, I have a boyfriend, I'm lucky to have him, I won't cheat-"
You pull a hand around and put a finger to her lips. "No, you're lucky you found me. Now, cheating only counts if you're doing the same thing with someone else as you do with your boyfriend, right?" She nods her head slightly, and it's so blindingly cute it feels like looking into a supernova. You continue "So how about we do all the things he never does to you?"
A question I get asked a lot while working at a public library is "how do you deal with homeless people?"
And the answer is, we don't.
The unhoused people who come here seeking refuge 99% of the time understand that they will be kicked out if they misbehave.
The people you have to watch out for are Jessica, who only came because the kid she didn't want had to visit for a homework assignment and she just *needs* to yell at her child for asking to borrow two books or stay an extra five minutes, or Michael, who came in to look at porn on our computers for whatever fucking reason, or Karen who just wanted to come by to throw a fit that the particular book she wanted was checked out and harrass our staff about our collection being too limited.
99% of the time, the people we need to ban are middle to upper-middle class white people while the homeless and mentally ill/disabled people mind their own damn business and are honestly some of the best patrons we have.
I bring this up because today we had a man come in. He stopped at the desk, pulled up a chair and said "I'm newly homeless and was living in my car. I'm disabled. It was impounded. It's raining. I don't have a phone and I don't know where to go tonight."
And we did what we could to help. He was incredibly kind and patient despite his obvious anxiety and stress, more than most able bodied, housed patrons are to us under much less dire conditions. I liked knowing that we were the first place he came.
We have so many people like this who come in everyday. Many are quiet and keep to themselves, but sometimes they talk to us.
They tell us about how they're taking a few courses on a scholarship they applied for from our library's computer at the local community college to get their diploma. Or ask about a manga or dvd or book we might have to help them pass the time.
One woman, who comes in daily with her tattered walker always says hello to me and likes to work on the new jigsaw puzzle with me when we set one out.
So like, treat unhoused people like people. Treat disabled people like people. I don't want my library to feel like the only safe space in the world, but I'm glad it can be one of them.
I'm so sick of hearing about how "the homeless are ruining everything" when they are some of the kindest, most respectful people here. Sometimes they mutter, might not have had a place to shower, and might need a little extra space for their backpacks but that's FINE. It Doesn't Matter Actually. None of that is a problem or any of my business to care about (unless they request help/services), and I also don't think it's any of yours.
on TME/TMA: being mistaken for a transfem and catching strays is not the same thing as actually being a transfem: the actual targets of transmisogyny
I know a lot of trans men want to be TMA reallllll bad because someone mistook them for a transfem once and called them a tranny, but the "Affected" in "TransMisogyny Affected" doesn't just mean you have been Affected by transmisogyny at some point--it means it affects you, inescapably, in uncountably many more ways than just random harassment, every minute of your damn life. and it worms into your brain and stays there, because you ARE the tranny they were talking about
you may be a tree near the target and catch the occasional stray, but you are not the target
I had a really good example of this pop up on the bus a while back. TLDR an older cis woman accused of being transfemme was protected by several people, while I, visibly transfemme, was not when the same person started threatening me.
