Orvs a fun meta book for about 90% of the book before it gets actually terrifying to think of the implications of its world building of story’s and the separation between reality and fiction.
Not only are they themselves made up of stories therefore turning themselves “fictional” but later Han sooyoung and Kim dokja even look beyond that and realize that there’s someone currently reading about them and talk about us directly in the epilogue.
However despite all that, the audience is still able to think “ok they know they are in the book but so what? We live in reality while they are stuck in fiction. It gets meta but that physical separation between the screen and their own awareness of being under the title of fictional is doesn’t change the fact that they can’t reach us in reality, that’s their world, this is ours.”
UNTIL NO IT FUCKING ISNT because HAN FUCKING SOOYOUNG WROTE ORV
Which fucking means canonically not only do we all live in the same god damned universe but also that every thing we read actually happened. But even then there’s still the fact that Han sooyoung and Kim dokja, the people who created the universe and know it best, stated that the universe they live in is fictional/just a story.
WHICH MEANS MOTHER FUCKERS that CANONICALLY our reality is…uh fiction?? By technicality?? Doesn’t mean it’s not all real it’s just also a story (I’ve lost the plot and I think so did our universe help)
