I think it would be so funny if Octavian never realized Nico was Greek. Like the boy practically fooled both camps, and he has a seat in the SENATE! Octavian’s power comes from manipulating the Senate. So of course he’s going to try and get close to the son of Pluto. Not only that, but Nico can control the Lares. Which means he could TECHNICALLY sway the votes in his favor by controlling the Lares. However, after joining the Argo II, and after countless near death experiences…He eventually learns that Nico is Greek by none other than Percy himself

Percy: Yeah I have met Nico on multiple occasions

Octavian: I thought you’ve never met him before

Percy: No, he lied about knowing me. I was the one that brought him to Camp Half Blood. He’s a Greek, and the son of Hades

Taking into account how demigods work in PJO (since it's very different than in actual mythology, because demigods DON'T HAVE FUCKING SUPERPOWERS), THEY SHOULD BE LIKE THE FUCKING SHYT.

You're telling me that Demeter's kids... the kids of the goddess that literally almost starved humanity to extinction, the goddess that very probably fought in the Titanomachy... are not as powerful, but a motherfucking Ares kid IS?! Like, I'm not saying he ain't powerful, but like man, she's very probably holds more power than him.

And APHRODITE, THE GODDESS OF LOVE, THE DAUGHTER OF FUCKING URANUS? Like, bro, half of the things in mythology happen thanks to HER: The Argonautica (for Medea and Jason), The War of Troy (Menelaus & Helen & Paris), and so many tragedies in which she might not be physically present, but she's still there as the romance included...THE ELDEST OF THE OLYMPIANS, DUDE. Her children would not be powerful as well? HER SON IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE MOST KNOWN HEROES!!

honestly. when i was younger i was confused as hell when everyone hated octavian. i mean i also didn’t particularly like him since the narrative loved to shove it down your throat that octavian was the bad guy but like. younger me was like “what are you guys saying?? hes literally RIGHT!!” because look at it this way:

a giant UFO comes down from space. on it is some popular human celebrity who has been missing for a while and also a bunch of humanoid aliens. people have theorized that aliens are real, but never actually set out to truly find one. then they come, bring the popular human celebrity back and claim they’re peaceful. and you’re telling me that we WOULDNT be distrustful? also, just because we have one alien in our possession doesn’t mean that all of them are good. this one could just be more open minded! also, with the current state of the world, every country would most likely try and nuke the aliens.

it’s also super annoying how the narrative likes to act like octavian is SOO crazy for not trusting people who 1. he has no prior knowledge on, unlike the reader. and even when Percy told him that the greek camp was good, Percy kinda came off like “source: just trust me bro” 2. FAMOUSLY COULD NOT BE TRUSTED. but remember guys (everything forward from this is bad sarcasm that i learned how to use recently)!!!! octavian is CRAZY!!! he has VISIONS that aren’t actually true because haha RACHEL is the oracle not stupid ugly scrawny white blond kid!! how could you forget?? schizophrenia is something to be laughed at, not treated or helped with!! because that’s what rick riordan seems to think about it.

Dark Pjo Headcanon

I'm just imagining how Chiron probably stopped the quest because of the gods and Percy's disappearance and how pissed the Hephaestus Cabin, Travis, Connor, Malcolm, and Will are. 

It's difficult for all of them to see their friend in pain. Will knows there is something out there that can heal his burns. But chiron isnt allowing quest. They are so desperate they want to go even without a prophecy. Surely someone will know something. 

But Chiron doesn't allow it. Then Percy disappears and while they sympathize with it, they get more angry when Chiron allows a search party and such, while he didn't allow a small sidequest thing to get Jake’s medicine. Then the newcomers come and they are allowed a quest as well. 

Their anger grows. At Annabeth, at Percy, at Chiron, at the newcomers. Logic takes a backseat, emotions are high. Fights break out between cabins. Finally Chiron gives them a quest. But it's only after the newcomers return from theirs.

They, thankfully, get the medicine and most of Jake’s burn heals but some have become permanent. A forever reminder that he wasn't able to fill his brother’s shoe. A reminder that a newcomer was easily able to do that within days. Jake stops looking in mirrors from then on. He wears full sleeved clothes and while he keeps himself clean, he doesn't like rubbing soap over himself, since his hand would touch his scars and all the remainder comes back to him. 

There is a shift in camp after that. It doesn't feel like home to them anymore. There is a hostility and it seems like a fight can break out at any moment. For the Hephaestus Cabin, Travis, Connor, Malcolm, and Will, it's a sign of what they were always too scared to look at: The camp doesn't care, especially in the face of the “heroes” they will always be sidelined and thrown away. It's an ugly thing that they, before, didn't want to face but now have to anyway. Their hatred towards, not even the gods, but at camp and Chiron only grows.
