ok so imagine an au where Tony doesn't actually die after the snap just goes into a coma and is declared dead to the world so he can recover peacefully. This is why Pepper can't give time to Peter despite knowing Peter's importance to Tony because she's busy keeping Stark Industries working, taking care of Tony and taking care of Morgen so she makes Happy take care of Spiderman. Peter still gets EDITH and far from home and no way home happens so the world forgets spiderman even existed and may dies as well.
SPOILER WARNING FOR SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY
NOW, brand new day occurs where peter has to deal with
1) Almost getting controlled by a telepath but finding out he's immune.
2) Getting ragdolled through the streets by holding onto a tank.
3) Getting hit through walls, having a chunk to roof be brought down on him and repeatedly punched by the hulk.
4)Having to deal with his even more evolving spider-DNA and having a identity crisis.
5) Having to fight against weapons specifically designed to beat him.
6) Getting fucking shot.
Which is not counting getting hit by moving train and falling through a building in the previous movies.
now it's Hulk who finds out who Peter is after he is done beating him up (and forces Bruce to remember) and Bruce (who i head-canon actually knew Peter because of Tony talking about him a lot and working a bit with him because Peter is very smart) realizes 'Holy shit it's Tony's kid.' And Pepper gets Bruce out of the psychiatric hospital who finds spiderman and convinces him to start letting people in more.
Imagine Tony's horror and what his kid has gone through and the heart attack he gets when the goddamn Punisher shows up to make sure Peter is ok. Just Tony being horrified at the shit his spider-son went through while he wasn't there is very funny.
