Wilson pulled out a pre-loaded syringe. “Morphine, Wilson? Aw, you shouldn’t have,” House drawled. “I didn’t. It’s tramadol. Nonnarcotic, synthetic opioid. Has some interesting side effects though,” he said, tapping out the air bubbles. “Confusion, euphoria, nervousness are all possible. It’ll probably put you out too.” “So will Vicodin,” House protested. “And that’s worked so well for you today too. Just try this, will you? It might work, it might help.” Wilson brandished the hypodermic. House was silent for a few seconds. “Intravenous or intramuscular?” he finally asked. “Present backside!” Wilson said, smiling.

This was a really nice and hot fic!! I loved how attentive Wilson was to help House with his leg and how cute House was grasping at Wilson to say once the drugs kicked it. The wake up sex was so good I really liked how you wrote House testing the waters by kissing and licking Wilson's neck and Wilson moaning out House's name!! House pulling Wilson down at the end for a kiss to express what this was all about was chef's kiss. Thank you so much for writing this!!

Is that the deal?” Wilson stared at him, disbelieving. “Yup, that’s pretty much it.” House smirked right back.

reccer's notes: very funny concept of house deciding to stop wilson's problematic flirting habit. later he realizes that the best way to do this is to redirect the flirting and well i wont spoil it anymore!

Something clicked in his head as he watched Wilson blush furiously, keeping his gaze down and on the dishes. ''You give me the things I love because you want to be one of them.''

It was a little after five in the morning when Wilson woke to a knock on his door. He almost forgot he was expecting House, ready to grumble and glare at whoever dared to wake him up this early when he has such important things he needs to rest for. He was halfway to the door when he heard a familiar voice on the other side of it. “Oh Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may see thy body bare.” “That is not how the story goes.” Wilson huffed with an unimpressed look as he swung the door open.

reccer's note: its not a very well liked trope but this fic is based off of wilson and house's infidelity and the author has done a really good job portraying it. definitely worth a read

Because, in the end, they weren't normal. And this was all they'd ever known.

Wilson would love to – Wilson would like to do so many things, make the most of countless wasted opportunities, erase every mistake, since his time has shortened without any warning, cruelly consuming itself under every cough. House holds him close as if he is about to slip from his arms, and neither of them has the courage to discern what this thing between them is. There is no excuse or rational diagnosis that could cover it up.

What Best Friends Do

summary: The development of House and Wilson's relationship from friendship to something else after House comes home from Mayfield.

The change in House is noticeable the second he steps out of Mayfield. For starters, he looks different. The haircut is new, of course, but that’s not all. He looks… Serene. Content. Like he’s fully present for the first time in 15 years. Wilson’s overcome with so much pride he nearly wants to cry. He clears his throat instead. “You look good.” He offers. And then, to his enormous surprise, House hugs him. A hug. Wilson doesn’t remember the last time they hugged. Maybe at his last wedding? Or was it the one before that? It takes Wilson a moment to get over the shock, but after a few seconds he stiffly hugs back.

Wow. You deserve all the kudos. This was wonderfully written and so wholesome and sweet. And optimistic! I'm not usually a huge fan of poly shipping, but House and Wilson in an open relationship just makes sense. I really liked the way you handled their coming out at work. I also especially liked that House was the one who brought up marriage! Also, I liked that House gets the opportunity to grow and a supportive environment to do it in (can you tell I liked a lot of things). Wilson also gets to step up (as he loves to do) and grow and change as a character, which is neat.

In the show, a lot of the bs that goes on between characters gets swept under the rug. Partly as a result of the episodic procedural format. Also likely because uncomfortable things aren't often addressed or resolved in real life relationships, and these characters are all damaged and flawed. One of the nice things about fanfiction is the ability to address those conflicts. I think your take on hilson is really fantastic, in part because of how optimistic and hopeful it is. Your version of s6-7 made me so happy. Thank you for sharing!

Wilson continued, ''One, we can stay the night here. There's always the sofa in my office. Two, I can see if emergency services can effect a rescue of some kind. I'm thinking ladder trucks or a giant trampoline, maybe.'' House snorted and smiled half a smile. Wilson grinned widely. ''And three, yes, the stairs. I'll help you down.'' ''Four floors. Eight flights. Fifteen stairs per flight. That's 120 stairs.'' House gripped his cane and rubbed at his thigh absently. ''You counted?'' ''I remember.''

reccer's note: AU, in which House learns to love many Wilsons while stuck in a time loop. He does commit non-medically indicated breaking and entering. Author does a great job illustrating the feelings of hopelessness and hope by House as he's stuck to the same Friday for God knows how long.

House sighed, grinding his teeth. “It’s not that I don’t love you. I love you too much. Jimmy, my love is violent. It hurts people. I hurt people. And you’re soft, and you love neediness, and I’m a vulture who will pick and pick and pick until you’re nothing but bones.”  “But I’ll be your bones.” Dewy eyes reflected the sky bleeding purple into navy. “Your love isn’t violent. You’re lying on a surgical table for me right now because you love me. You opened your body and let them cut out your lung, your liver, your kidney because you love me. Your love is sacrifice. You love neediness just as much as I do.” 

reccer's note: A double sick fic special, testing the diagnosing skills of House and Wilson as they independently try to save the other from death. From trauma, many strokes of luck, and an out of body differential diagnosis, this fic has it all.

The Sudden Loss of Self

summary: Wilson is paralyzed from the waist down (or some similar injury, this was inspired by "Fifth Of July" a play RSL was in), becomes very depressed and angry and House has to help him find a reason to go back to work and keep helping people.

House was in a new wheelchair. Low slung with space-age three spoke wheels. “You blew money on a sports wheelchair? How important is it for you to win? Our bets never top five dollars.” “It’s not for me. It’s for you." House shook his head in dismay. "Your choice in wheels is disgusting. You drove a Volvo and now you own the Darth Vadermobile. Your wheelchair should be equipped with a horsewhip, it's so old-fashioned. Get with the program, Wilson.” House slapped the handrims. “This baby is the ‘vette of wheelchairs.” “I’m fine, with the one I h-have.” Wilson faltered. House had argued with him when he made his decision, but stubbornly refused to give in and erred on the side of caution, choosing a sturdier, mundane model. “Too late, this one is custom-built for you.” House passed his friend and moved toward the couch. Stenciled on the back in small letters were, “Beware Monster Trucks!” Right below in a larger font, “THE TUMORNATOR.”

reccer's note: this one features disabled!wilson and i wasn't sure how i was going to feel about it but im really glad i read it anyways! the characterization is brilliant, i can totally imagine canon!wilson behaving like this. the tumornator and wilsonfrared detector were strokes of genius too!

A Modest Proposal

summary: Tritter's case against House still depends on subpoenaed testimony from Wilson. To save House from losing everything, the doctors of PPTH decide on an unusual solution, which in turn leads to unexpected consequences. This is a story about the sacrifices we make that turn out not to be such great sacrifices after all. 

Obviously, there was a glitch in the system where Wilson was concerned, something in Wilson's psychological makeup that took the signals for 'run away as far and as fast as you can' and mistranslated them as 'quick, marry this guy.' And people thought House was the one who needed therapy. Wilson was a shrink's wet dream.
