Okay I’m finally answering this after three months, leave me alone.
Listen, even with the two on one advantage that Blake and Yang has on Tyrian, we already have canonical proof that, with Tyrian, that does not matter at all. Not only did he completely decimate RNJR, but it took three fully trained Huntsmen to take him down. Even when it was Qrow vs Clover vs Tyrian, he was still holding his own up until Qrow decided to team up with the literal crackhead.
On the topic of all their fighting abilities, all three have their strengths and weaknesses.
Yang: She can tank and dish out a lot of damage, and with her fighting style, she excels in close combat with some mid range options because of Ember Celica. On top of that, she possesses a lot of natural strength shown in her being able to carry giant speakers without any strain.
However, Yang is a flashy and slow fighter. Not only are her punches easily telegraphed, but she has a habit of yelling in her fights just before she attacks, even if it’s an attack that her opponent does not know she’s about to use. Just look at her fight with Robyn. As well as that, she has no ground defense and rarely dodges, though the dodges that she does make are so obvious and telegraphed I’m surprised no one hits her while she’s spinning around like a dreidel. Also she still has a nasty habit of putting herself off balance whenever she fights.
Blake: Incredibly fast and has a wide range of attacks due to the nature of her weapon and Semblance. With her clones, Blake is able to blitz through a target and redirect attacks that could hurt to her clones. She can easily fit into the front line or a support fighter because of this, and is shown to meld well with others and their fighting styles. Unlike Yang, Blake has shown a great control over her emotions when it comes to fighting, and she doesn’t make rash decisions in the heat of the moment.
However, and especially in these later volumes, Blake keeps resigning herself to a support role. In every fight, she is taped to fighting alongside Yang’s side, and when she is fighting on her own, it doesn’t go as well. If Tyrian breaks through the rhythm of the fight and disrupts Blake’s flow, she has difficulty in regaining the foothold and that can prove deadly when fighting with him.
Tyrian: Tyrian is one of the best fighters in RWBY, and it shows. His fighting style and speed can match with Qrow’s, proves too fast for other quick fighters like Ren and Ruby, and his acrobatic style mimics Neo’s, which would put a slow fighter like Yang on the back foot while being quick enough to keep up with Blake’s blitz moves. His weapons are small and perfect for him as they deal damage the moment he strikes, and with his Semblance, he is deadly when he comes in close, which is where Yang needs to be if she wants to use her own weapons and abilities.
Despite that, Tyrian himself suffers from a pretty big flaw. He has the tendency to stop and savour any moment of victory, and gives in to dramatic prose way too often if he feels his opponents aren’t worth his complete attention, which is likely what he’d think Yang and Blake would be since they’re just “kids” to him. Though once they prove him wrong, Tyrian won’t make that same mistake again.
Given all these strengths and weaknesses, the fight would be very one sided. Blake and Yang’s teamwork now just consists of throwing Yang at the enemy and minimal actual teamwork, especially in their fight with Vine and Elm since most of that fight had Blake getting thrown around and Yang throwing punches. Tyrian has proven himself to be a very dangerous threat, he broke Qrow’s Aura, killed numerous Huntsmen, killed Clover and beat Team RNJR without a single hit on him, despite them outnumbering him four to one.
Added into his stinger able to tank a fully powered hammer strike from an amped Nora, before it was amputated and he got a metal stinger instead, and the fact that his poison completely incapacitates a grown man in half a day, and his Semblance shredding Aura like it’s paper, Tyrian is more than capable of handling two college drop outs.
Verdict: Tyrian the crackhead wins.
