Ialai, my crab claw guzzling sister 😻
Money, but it's different sized lithium ion batteries.
Find someone who loves you the way Brandon Sanderson loves the phrase "exploded with light"
Dalinar may deny it, but Renarin's autism is inherited from him.
bro is really always in the clouds + read the book a hundred times + learned it almost all by heart + in the middle of the dialogue inserts quotes from it endlessly associating what is happening with the events in it + does not fuck in interpersonal relations che kavo + so smart but such a fool
they HAVE this in common
my most problematic (tm) cosmere opinion is that i look at peak Blackthorn years Dalinar and go
Veil is on some gangster Kelsier type shit.
Pattern is gonna have to pull Shallan back from this honor chasm of her own making with all these split personalities.
I assumed that stormlight can only heal the physical, otherwise Kaladin wouldn't be so depressed.
So I also assumed that Dalinar's blind spot for shshshsh in his memory was traumatic repression, similar situation to Shallan with her parents, but then he sucks up a handful of stormlight and he finally remembers homegirl's name?? So I guess he had literal brain damage??? One too many war hammers to the helm or something????
adolin shallan kaladin stuck inside a whale
adolin: i made a big sword to punch that weird looking bag like thing on the roof of the whales mouth
kaladin: the uvula?
adolin (after a long moment of consideration): so its a girl whale
shallan just deciding enough is enough
Girl.....
The funniest love triangle in fiction happened in The Well of Ascension, the second Mistborn book, where Zane was like "[insert evil laugh here] I'm gonna torture my half-brother by making his girlfriend fall in love with me and force her to choose between us". Meanwhile Vin is just living her life and dealing with plot stuff and never gives any indication of harboring the barest romantic or even platonic feeling towards Zane, and when he finally makes his offer she's like "what the fuck dude of course I'm not picking you". The third point of the non-existent triangle, Elend, remains blissfully unaware of any of these events (including that he has a half-brother) because he's too busy dealing with other plot stuff. Anyway, kudos to Zane for inventing clowns in Scadrial
i promise i like these books and these characters but the cracks are showing.
one chapter it's going all fine and normal, even epic, and then one line reads like its pulled from high school of the dead and it ruins the entire vibe and my day.
Please correct me if I am wrong, because a fair bit of Cosmere math is going to rely on me not talking out of my Perpendicularity on this one.
It's been a while since I deep dived, but duralumin, and by extension aluminum, are not affecting allomancy when they are being burned by an allomancer. They are affecting Investiture. It is just that outside of a world hopper, or someone caught up in world hopper shenanigans, the only Investature most allomancers have access to is allomancy, and some exceptions like Twinborn.
What that means is, and someone tell me if this has happened and in what book if so, just don't spoil anything: a duralumin or aluminum gnat are actually potentially some of the single most dangerous kinds of misting. They just need another kind of Investature to work with.
A duralumin gnat can enhance any other kind of Investature potentially, and an aluminum gnat would be able to shut down any kind of Investature that would be internal that is used against them.
Personally, I could be the most dangerous assassin on Roshar, if I am given a target who is a Knight Radiant lets say, and I know they are also a duralumin gnat, I'm telling the client to go f*** themselves. Not happening. Even if I am also Invested, even if I had a shardblade myself, I would have to be incredibly desperate to take that contract.
I would sooner go up against a kolosblooded pewter savant in a bare knuckle fighting pit.
"Why haven't you read White Sand yet?"
Because I think something awaits for me in the devine for resisting
