It's been 10 years since Merlin ended... and that finale still makes me cry everytime.

He lets out a cry of anticiipation like “oho!” or “let’s go CSX!” He then honks on his car horn the pattern known as “shave and a haircut.” Each time, the train conductor responds with the correct answer, which is the two-beat pattern “two bits.” Each time, the driver joyously cries, “A-ha!”

Lantern Shield with Gauntlet and Retractable Thrusting Blade (before 1596)

A mannerist combination weapon consisting of a round shield, an iron gauntlet, a retractable thrusting blade, and an oil lantern. The lantern could be used to dazzle an opponent during combat in low-light conditions. The object was part of the collection of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol and was likely intended as a technical display piece rather than a practical battlefield weapon.
