Hot take of the day is that the world is kinder to fat people than it is to people with longer than average limbs. Shirts and pants never fit right because the sleeves and legs are too short. And if I buy one size larger, the shoulders are too wide, or the shirt is too big around, and the waist is also too large and wearing a belt just makes it fold and look bad. Meanwhile, a lot of stores offer plus size options. Fat people can go to any regular store and find clothing tailored for them. I have to go to a big+tall store if I want sleeves that reach my wrists. I shouldn't have to go to a specialty store to get clothes that fit correctly. Fat people are celebrated in tv and movies and cartoons and music as representation. Body positivity normalizing fatness is a current trend. Long-limbed people are only celebrated when they go to the Olympics. Otherwise, we're called freaks. And yes, I'm speaking from personal experience.

Once again, my issue is her arrogance. She thinks that she is more special and more important in the eyes of her god than issues all over the world, and more important than other skaters. Alexa Knierim is a narcissist.

As for her god? Yeah, if her god prioritizes figure skating over global issues like hunger and war, that is not a good god. Get off your high horse and get a reality check.

In response to Slate's article on the possibility having non-heteromative team in figure skating (particularly, ice dance and pairs), Oniceperspective shared a glimpse of Gabriella Papadakis (FRA) and Madison Hubbell (USA) working on their same-sex program. You can see how they switch the leading figure between them.

Johnny Weir sitting on tv and calling Alexa Scimeca Knierim a roll model is sickening. Never forget that Alexa was more than willing to bully people in order to protect John Coughlin. One of the women who was sexually abused by Coughlin died last year, his evil extends far beyond his death. But Alexa gets lauded on tv as someone for young skaters to admire. 

Remember, we will never know the extent of Coughlin’s abuse.

And remember Alexa continued to defend Dalilah after the allegations of Dalilah’s emotional and psychological abuse was made to light and then still defended her after Dalilah was suspended by Safesport.

Alexa is an abuse apologist through and through and everyone needs to be aware of this and it needs to spread into the main stream.

It truly is a shame that figure skating has become all about the quad jumps and very few skaters actually care about artistry anymore.

Exactly. I think most of us fans still care, but the way high points are given for jumps that sometimes look actually rather crude is really disappointing.

I also dislike the fact that commentators on tv often say the men NEED quads to even have a chance. Why? If they have a more complex and artistic programm, why don't they have a chance?

That happened before the season even started. He was complaining in an interview how skating is a homosexual dominated sport, and how he aims to make it more many and straight by his skating, basically saying that he as a straight man feels threatened in the sport. It was just a lot of "make figure skating straight again" bullshit.

He made this apology video later with an obviously scripted speech that he was reading. Didn't help him much.

My problem with Alexa Knierim is that years ago I saw a brief after-skate interview where she thanked God for her (and her husband's) win. This is problematic because she believes that her deity loves her more than anyone else, enough to "give" her a win. Girl, God has better things to do. Do you think with all the wars and fighting going on in the world, your god cares about skating at all? If so, that's a shitty god.
