What I’ve learnt from Tony Stark

1. Find a purpose in life. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is, but have a purpose to your existence.

2. People make mistakes, but smart people learn from their mistakes. And if you make different mistakes later, then you repeat the process.

3. Never stop trying.

4. If you can find the wire to cut, there’s no necessity to lie down on it always.

5. You are strong even if you are down, because it takes strength to stand back up.

6. A sense of humor goes a long way in life

7. See the men under the mythical monsters and the monsters under mythical men. Know their value.

8. Accept imperfection but don’t stop striving for growth.

9. Take responsibility for your actions and take actions according to your responsibility.

10. Take pride in your strengths and poise in your weaknesses. When either falters, take pragmatism from your reality.

11. Love your friends while you have them

12. Don’t stop trusting humanity for the betrayals of a few humans.

13. Be brave in your shortcomings

14. Be your own hero

15. Be the change you want to see.

Note: These are things I have learnt from Tony Stark. So if anybody comes with arguments about misgivings or counter points, please don’t.

16. Name your things, give them character, make them yours. It’s not weird to care about your stuff, especially if they already mean something—for whatever reason—to you.

17. Demons, you’ll have them for life. Doesn’t make you bad.

18. Some of your decisions, whether you like it or not, could upset people close to you. Make them anyway. You can’t keep everyone happy all the time, not without leaving aside what you want or think it’s right. You gotta live your life.

19. Son, you’re such a geek. Be proud.

20. Communication, do learn it fast. It could save lives, including your own.

21. Chin up, shoulders back. Put on a smile, keep your shoes clean. Give no clues to your enemies.

22. If it’s in your power to help, do it. If it’s not, don’t punish yourself.

23. Keep studying, learn anything you want. There’s no real good reason to stop.

24. Everyone has their own reasons and motivations. Watch your step.

25. Rules, good to have them. Good to break them too when needed.

26. You can still go on, broken heart and all. Keep moving.

48. Learn to be your own anchor, you’re own saviour. There will not always be someone to tell you to get yourself together, so be that someone.

49. Try. All the fucking time. Never give up, no matter what. Trying is gonna get you somewhere, wherever you wanna get. Try and train and learn and try everything again. Someday, you’ll end up somewhere.

As someone who was on here in 2012 (I was 14) this is probably the worst thing for me to see at that time. I know I’m mentally ill, every therapist I see tells me I have some sort of disorder (been told I’m depressed, bipolar, borderline, and autistic). A mentally ill preteen is going to see this shit and get comfortable in their illness instead of get better, it might even make them worse.

Y'all need to stop this shit.
