The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.
Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.
No carb, engine donāt start. No protein, engine dies out fast.
Easy carb add on:
Cookie
Fruit (canned or fresh)
Chips
Piece of bread
Popcorn
Crackers
Easy protein add on:
Nuts
Spoonful of nut butter
Cheese
Roasted chickpea snacks
Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
Small canned sausages or similar
Sugar in there.
I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.

FULL AUDIO: Ā Live audio commentary -Ā Iron Man (2008), by Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr.Ā (2h29m length)
There has never been a directorās commentary for the Iron Man films that included Jon Favreau and RDJ. Ā While promoting The Jungle Book,Ā Favreau told Reddit that they actually did do an unofficial one back in 2008 for anĀ Iron ManĀ screening but it was not officially recorded by the venue.
Someone in attendance did manage to record the whole thing and it was shared on Reddit yesterday, eight years later.
The screening took place on September 6, 2008 at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, CA and was hosted by American Cinematheque as part of their āLive Commentaryā series.
** NOTE: Ā the commentary starts at approximately the 7-minute mark. **

WHAT
highlights/key takeaways include:
favreau talking nonstop about how rdj kept insisting on so many little editing tweaks that ultimately made the movie flow better
jay leno criticizing rdj for clearly not knowing what he was doing when tony clumsily takes apart a car engine [favreauās own] (18 min mark)
tony waking up in the cave after being kidnapped was the first shot they did/rdjās first time playing tony stark for the actual movie
rdj apologizing for this hat:
saying how that costuming choice had been his call and he didnāt knowingly mean to give such a dickensian sad boy look
when the next shot appears, favreau immediately demanding that rdj apologize for this hat:
telling how it irritated the marvel execs to no end (āwe donāt show up for one day and he puts on a castro hat?!ā) while rdj murmurs defensively in the background (āc'mon, that was a great hat.ā)
favreau had to fight to keep in so many shots of tony working with his hands/just building things frame after frame, since he was adamant that these images were āwhat the whole movie was aboutā
the fact that tony wasnāt supposed to have his iron man mask up during the goodbye/death scene with yinsen ā but they had him lift it for a single take for some technical reason that wasnāt meant to be used, then ended up using that take in the final cut (45 min mark)
rdj interrupting favreauās explanation of the above, wanting silence for āmy coming out partā (when iron man steps out of the darkness of the cave and unleashes hell)
favreau was simply indulging rdj when rdj suggested that tony make everyone sit down on the floor for the first press conference, saying that he went along with the kooky idea āonceā just so rdj would trust him as a director ā but then ended up keeping it in bc it was so tony
rdj and favreau agreeing that the scene where pepper reaches into the arc reactor casing in tonyās chest is their āfavorite sceneā
the execs wanted to know why tony was drinking āthat green shit,ā which seemed to detract from the scene; favreau tells that rdj was adamant that tony would want to heal his body with superfoods
ā āi would never not look someone in the eye when i shake their hand. but tony would.ā ārdj
lots of references to indiana jones, star wars, robocop, alien
rhodeyās ringtone is the theme to the 60s iron man cartoon (same theme is used when obie introduces an absent stark at the award ceremony before the vegas scene)
the reason that tony ridicules dum-e and U so much is that these bots were used pre-production in a superbowl commercial to promote the upcoming movie, to show off what kind of ācool techā tony has around ā rdj got annoyed by that, saying āthese are THE DUMBEST robots anyone would ever have ššā ā so when it came time to shoot his scenes with them he didnāt bother to hide how he really felt about them
ā the photo of the iron man suit used in this newspaper shot was taken by real paparazzi, who caught up with the crew while they were shooting on a closed highway and snuck some photos; favreau thought it would be ācoolā to get back at them by using their shot in this scene, but then they sued marvel for $5 million for stealing their photo
putting the bonus scene at the end of the credits roll wasnāt something favreau originally wanted to do, worried that people would miss it ā but it turned out that when ppl did in fact learn that they missed a scene at the end, they came back to watch the whole movie again just to catch that scene, which boosted box office revenue (this idea was suggested to him by dir. edgar wright, who happened to be at skywalker ranch during an early screening of the movie, and thought that sam jacksonās scene didnāt land right where favreau had initially included it early in the credits sequence. marvel was unhappy with this call until they saw how well it played with audiences)

I love that the modern-day tumblr post equivalent of chain emails only requires me to reblog a relatively pleasant image instead of forward an email to a bunch of my friends and family members to quell my raging anxiety.

Prompts for AI-less Whumptober 2026
As always, picking what prompts to include was really hard thanks to you guys' wonderful brains, but we hope this list will excite many of you! Additional info + plain text versions of the prompts can be found under the cut. Please check the FAQ below before sending asks.
That cat is legitimately getting a state funeral, several statues, a weepy 10 thousand word obituary from The Guardian and an Elton John tribute song when he goes.
genAI companies are now buying up rare and antique books so they can scan them and use them to train their AI. then they're destroying the books afterward.
AI companies are quietly obtaining rare books, ingesting their contents, and then destroying them -- even if they're exceedingly rare.
they've had to face settlements against stealing from current authors, so they'll just go for the old books now. they're also doing this so they have the only copies of rare books.
they're taking water, power, natural resources for their data centers. they steal. they're book burning, essentially. i'm just so angry, i'm at a loss right now.
Vernor Vinge wrote about something very much like this in his 2007 novel, Rainbows End, where a tech company seeks to destroy all physical books - it's set in 2025...

The pathologization of anger needs to be talked about. What do you mean my therapist is telling me that thereās something āchemically wrongā with me because I am still angry about my mom DYING OF COVID.
of course Iām still angry? My mom and 1.3 million other Americans are dead and you want me to shoot sunshine out of my ass about it?
āBut Itās been 3 years since she died, you have complex griefā yeah and she was on a ventilator for 11 days and she kept writing āI am scaredā and āI donāt want to dieā on a notepad over and over again. While you were still going out unmasked and unvaccinated and coughing all over each other, I was living a nightmare I couldnāt fucking wake up from. And every single day Iām reminded of it in the form of āhaha wasnāt the pandemic such a wacky time hahaā and āIām not getting a booster you canāt make me 𤪠(nobody asked)ā and āitās not real they made the numbers up!!!ā
āYouāre not copingā Ok hereās the deal; Iāll stop feeling this anger when we have a national memorial (we donāt) or a cdc equipped to stop it from happening again (we donāt) or a population that takes a deadly disease seriously BEFORE it effects them personally (WE DONāT!)
until then, Iām pretty sure my anger is A COMPLETELY NORMAL HUMAN REACTION given the facts at hand
I didnāt expect it to, but this post is taking off. I never share fundraisers but this organization is spearheading federal recognition of peer-submitted Covid memorials and bringing recognition of Covid loss to the public view by testifying to congress to combat misinformation. They do things like create funds for children orphaned by Covid too. And much more. Like. They do a lot. Theyāre THE Covid nonprofit imo.
If my my momās story touched you in any way, and youāre able to, I would love nothing more than to have some folks donate to their cause. They are a registered nonprofit with a platinum transparency rating. (You can write it off on your taxes!)

All of my love to you.
