I have a new(?) drinking game idea:

A group of people say a true, excruciatingly personal TMI about themselves, the more uncomfortable it makes others, the better.

The one that gives the TMI that is the least uncomfortable, drinks. The loser also has to say something uncomfortable directed to one member in the game.

The one that gives the best TMI can choose to double the loser's drink or choose another to drink as well.

Now watch as friendships die and never be the same again. Drunk chaos all around and nobody can look anyone in the eye anymore !!!

Not an Art Hoe but an Artist Hoe

Ngl, I'm not that much interested in art. For me, I'm interested in the artist. Seeing art in museums bore me after a while, but seeing the artist at work - thats what gets me. Seeing them turn a blank canvas into something they're proud of. Seeing them give their middle-of-the-night inspirations, their sleepless, shaking, coffee-induced motivation, their anxiety, their pain, their happiness, and everything else, a voice, a life, a chance to be seen is what is most beautiful. The art is subjective, but for me, the artist is always beautiful.

Reminders for aros who don’t want a romantic relationship!

- Your relationship status does not determine your maturity, worthiness, or happiness.

- Just because your peers are dating, getting married, or having children, and you’re not, doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

I literally just watched this episode, and I’m sorry, but there’s one thing funnier:

Zuko couldn’t speak during this whole fight/escape in case someone recognized his voice. Can you imagine the frustration he must have felt having to go through an entire fight without yelling? Zuko???

One of my favorite parts of rewatching the episode is imagining everything that must have been going through Zuko’s head during that escape.

It gets funnier when you think that he could absolutely, no problem go through a battle without yelling once, as seen here and yet chooses to be a dramatic gay and holler at the top of his lungs at every opportunity.

That says a lot about how he firebends vs how he fights with the dao blades.

He actually can’t, at this point, fight without yelling if he’s using firebending. In The Firebending Masters, he says he’s been relying on anger and rage to fuel his bending, so yeah, in every firebending fight, he’s drawing on rage and hyping that up by yelling. Someone has pointed out that after he finds the original source of firebending, he stops yelling all the time - I haven’t checked that personally but it does seem accurate.

But he doesn’t need to draw on fury to firebend when he’s the Blue Spirit. He can fight in total silence when he’s working with a weapon he’s more in touch with, when he doesn’t need to draw on hate or anger to fuel it.

A Hopeless Aromantic

All throughout life we are told that we’re gonna fall in love with someone, get married, raise a family together, and grow old together. I’ve always rejected this. Why? Because I am an aromantic demisexual. “But how can you be both aromantic and demisexual when you need an emotional connection before feeling sexual attraction to someone?” Sit down, reader, and let me explain everything to you. 

Firstly, the definition of aromanticism is “an orientation in which someone does not experience romantic attraction.” This is different from asexuality because this has to do with romantic attraction and not sexual attraction, or the lack thereof. Romantic attraction is when you want to be romantically involved with a certain person or want to date a certain person. I am aromantic in that I have never wanted to date anyone and never felt any inclination to date someone no matter the gender. 

Secondly, the definition of demisexuality is “an orientation in which someone feels sexual attraction when an emotional bond is formed.” This bond can be either romantic or platonic and is different from preferring to know someone well before having sex with them. Because I need to be at least friends with someone before I feel sexual attraction to them, I am a demisexual. 

Another thing I should add is that while I am demisexual, I am also bisexual in that I feel sexual attraction to guys, girls, and nonbinary people, but prefer girls. But that only happens once I have a bond formed with them. 

Now on to the main event. I have always related to the phrase “I want to marry my best friend” because I take it literally. The person who I want to marry would be my best friend at that time. Since I am aromantic, only platonic relationships work for me. This can be either something like friends with benefits (I still have a sex drive, unfortunately) or a queerplatonic relationship. All I want is a friend to spend the rest of my life with.

Humans do the same thing, thinking “once in done with this I can start enjoying my life” “once I’m out of collage I can enjoy my life” “once I’ve lost weight I can enjoy my life”. But we’re already living, and if we don’t appreciate it while we’re here and alive we will miss it.

If you haven’t seen the movie, the context is (spoilers upcoming): the protagonist (the man she’s speaking to) has wanted his whole life to get his break playing jazz. He gets a spot with this famous quartet (the headliner is the woman speaking to him; she plays the saxophone) and they have a fantastic show, but after the show he’s confused that getting his “dream” didn’t automatically fulfill him. He expected something to change. When he admits that to her, she tells him this story. Basically, he was living his life as one long sprint to one specific goal on the horizon, but in doing so, he was neglecting to appreciate the actual process of living. Once he achieved his goal, he realized he felt empty because he didn’t know what he was living for anymore. Part of the point of the movie is to learn that life itself is the point of living, and you don’t need one specific purpose--you just need to enjoy the process.

I just realized that I'm demiromantic. That fucking explains why I literally yeet my phone away from me (it usually hits the wall :((( ) when someone i met a few days or so ago flirts with me. I thought I was just bad at flirting and romance, but i really cant understand why people fall in love/like so fast.

I also dont really know where I stand with my orientation, because while i think i usually imagine my future relationships as straight, but I also think that if one of my close girl friends will like me and make an effort that way, then Im also okay with that???

Like idk man, im confused. All I know is that i usually dont have crushes easily, and when I do, its usually with someone I already am close with, and its only when they indicate/hint that they like me. (kind of like im just reflecting or reciprocating their emotions first;) (like, ok we're friends and thats cool, and imma hold you to that standard....then bam, wait, you like me?? Okay give me a sec, let me see if i can picture us together? Hmmm, yeah that checks out. Ok, sure, i kinda like you too) (but the thing is, the other party thinks that i wont ever see them as anything but friends [IM BAD WITH EMOTIONS AND FLIRTING AND ROMANCE OKAY???], so they never formally confess or ask me out, and im just?? Well damn, k, ig we'll just be friends then.

In short, i am still a single pringle at 23 and have never even been on a first date. So if any demis see this, pls advise??
