U literally cannot save your mother like it cant be done
Writing taught me that the most interesting thing about a person is never what happened to them. it's what they decided it meant. two people can go through the exact same thing and build completely different selves out of it. the event is just the event. the story they tell about it is who they become. I think about this every time i catch myself retelling something from my own life and notice i've quietly changed what it meant. we are all editing ourselves constantly.
idk what neurodivergent young adult needs to hear this but you are NOT supposed to give 100% at your job. I've gotten more promotions and raises since I started giving 40-60%, which my evil CEO uncle informed me is what bosses actually expect when they say 110%. My mental health has improved tremendously. I've spent 2 out of 5 workdays secretly writing my novel for the last 2 years and I've never been more respected and appreciated. Also--when you see glaring wasteful errors in the company's operating systems, say absolutely nothing! Embrace inefficiency. It is your friend in this capitalist hellscape.

It's crazy how my bisexuality seems to function because I was ID'ing as a lesbian in high-school/early college. But it always felt wrong/too restrictive a label, even though at that time in my life I genuinely had little to no interest in men that weren't fictional. I start ID'ing as bisexual around age 21. Suddenly I'm pretty much exclusively into men for the next few years (although I do go on dates with some women). Cut forward to now (26 years old) and it's like the switch has flipped and I'm exclusively into women again. Like don't get me wrong, I'm still bisexual and I think I'm attracted to people regardless of gender howEVER when it comes to who I actually want to practically date... it's like the needle is just going back and forth every few years. Men, women, men, women, men, women. And right now it is VERY firmly on the women side of things.
Reblog this and tell me what was your biggest crying over a piece of fiction. You can be vague if you don't want to spoil.
āmy father is a boy and my mother is a girl so iām mixedā is the funniest possible response to someone asking your gender and it came from 6ā5 Viking footballer and notable weird little guy Erling Haaland on a Snapchat
comedians can only dream of writing something this funny
AYESHA HARRIS & KEN KIRBY as PARKER ELLIS & JOHN SHEN THE PITTĀ | Season 2, Episode 15, ā9:00 P.M.ā
I pull up my slide show. The first slide says āI do not want to financially support the Church of the Latter Day Saints in any wayā. There are murmurs of agreement and approval from the room
Next slide. āBrandon Sanderson is a member of the LDSā. The muttering has changed tone
āItās not a very big amount of money though.ā Someone in the audience pipes up. āHis cut is only a small fraction of the cost of the book, and then-ā my next slide shows an income breakdown, it is titled āa small fraction of $10,000,000 is still a big numberā
Iām sweating. The following slides explain tithing rules. The vibe of the room has shifted. I start to doubt Iām getting out of here alive
armand confessing to stalking daniel for 52 years, panicking when daniel doesn't find it romantic, and basically yelling LESTAT FUCKS HIS MOM!!! to divert to attention off his feelings. incredible.
hannibal and will werenāt even toxic. all of that was normal
starting the countdown until gaylors start saying that Adam Sandler officiating Taylor's wedding (sorry if this is how you found out) is actually proof that it's a sham because it's a reference to I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007), in which Sandler and Kevin James play heterosexual men who enter a mutually beneficial fake gay marriage, a dynamic that Taylor is inverting as a queer woman pretending to be straight while cleverly flagging the obvious farce to those with the eyes to see
