People Who Hate Damian Wayne
I just wanted to say this really quickly, because it gets me going a bit when people say it.
People give Damian a ton of crap for his attitude, and yes, he does have an attitude.
But people seem to forget that he’s 13.
Like dude, all 13-year-olds and have attitude problems.
Not to mention that kid’s been through a lot, (you know, never being able to have even the slightest bit of a trauma-free childhood, which is more than most of the other Robin’s can say.)
Not only that, but Jason didn’t have a good childhood either, and he also had an attitude problem.
And, of course, people love Jason, and say that his attitude is funny and relatable.
But when it comes to Damian, an (at the time) 10-year-old boy, who was raised by the League of Assasins, and has an attitude problem because, you know, he’s kinda traumatized…
Nope, that child deserves to die.
Like, I get it. All of the batboys had traumatizing childhoods.
Which is exactly my point, why is Damian not allowed to backtalk Superman every once and a while without people rolling their eyes?
Like they’ve never seen any kid with a “normal” childhood do that before.
I also don’t think it’s necessary for Damian to, “Get older and grow out of the attitude.”
I think it makes his character interesting.
And hey, not every character is going to be a totally polite upstanding member of society.
My point is, people just hate Damian.
You don’t need to like a character.
But I have to just call out some reasons why some excuses are lame.
If you still don’t like Damian after this argument, then that’s fine by me.
And I see those of you in the corner, hating Damian because “It wasn’t necessary to make another Robin.”
Because as we all know, Batman needs his Robin.
(I’m not going to explain it to you, just go look it up.)
And when Damian is an adult, (if Batman is not retired by then) there will be another Robin.
And before I forget, Damian pre-dates Cass.
Before you use the “Damian’s storyline is a copy of Cass’s” excuse.
(Also, please stop telling people who aren’t familiar with him that he killed Dick, because that was a stupid alternate timeline piece of crap that nobody liked and make no sense, and therefore, it isn’t canon, as determined by the entire fandom)
