The amount of nonblack tadc fans I’ve seen on Twitter jumping to defend the tadc cast members who joked and giggled about saying the n slur on accident when they were fully grown by saying “it was years ago and they were both only 231!1!1!1! Stupid n- I mean *AMERICANS* this is just drama and you’re cancelling an innocent artist 🥺 we forgive you” is the craziest thing in the world to me. Like buddy this is not your apology to forgive. Like I’m sorry but if you’re repeatedly doing this over and over, friends with people who enjoy doing this and are still willing to employ them and keep them in your inner circle and defend them that’s.. weird. Full stop. It’s hard to believe it as a “sincere mistake” if you keep over the course of your life making the jokes and downplay your black fans genuine concerns or disappointment. People asking why Artemis II matters, lemme tell you

1. First woman to enter deep space, Christina Koch, went as a mission specialist to help test the preventative measures against the radiation that causes cancer in the ships, and primarily affects women. It affects men too but less so. Christina's literally so inspiring to me.

2. This mission and further Artemis missions are testing safety concerns to help push the boundary of what we've been able to explore up to this point. Safety is the primary purpose of the trip. This is the first step to exploring Mars and further planets! Including Europa (my beloved.)

3. Before this, only 24 humans have ever entered deep space. Of that 24, 5 are alive today and they're all in their 90s. We very much needed a newer trip to help confirm or change whatever information we had from years and years ago. Having 4 living testaments of space exploration is a very important part of keeping said exploration alive.

4. Even though it wasn't the primary purpose of the trip, we've gotten so many rare pictures! Including my favorite "Hello, World" taken by commander Reid Wiseman:

It's the second photo EVER to have a fulll illuminated Earth hemisphere, the first being "Blue Marble". All other photos of the Earth have been spliced. Blue Marble was taken during the day and Hello, World was taken at night (the exposure has been lifted for clarity). It's my new favorite photo, it's so beautiful.

@/zombiedeers and I were talking about Kermit's performers earlier, and while I'm not a big fan on discussing which performer was/is better etc. etc.

We both agreed that Steve's performance as Kermit grew bittered over time, that by the end of it, Kermit became crass and irritated by not only to his fellow muppets, but to his whole career as a performer himself. Which is heart breaking when you think about how we kind of see Kermit slowly fall out of love with the very thing he's most passionate about, along with the people he enjoyed working with the most. His friends.

Now, this is how I choose to see it. I said that Steve's Kermit was him experiencing long term grief after losing Jim. I imagined how much it took a toll on him losing the most important person in his life. The person that brought him to life and experienced all the ups and downs with. I can imagine how such a loss could change him. While he continued moving forward through out the years, a part of him was still missing. How he's been acting during the years prior, were the cracks of grief bleeding through, and it affected his relationships and career.

Matt's performance as Kermit, along with the recent Muppet Show special, is Kermit allowing himself to heal and find that love for performing again. Not just finding love for the stage, but rebuilding and strengthening bonds that have grown distant. This isn't just a one man show, but a group effort that builds up a family.

As corny as this may sound, what brings the Muppets together in the end is heart, and I think they were able to find it again.

Aside from the scraping, AI tech companies, including openAI/chatGPT, have outsourced training their models to countries in the global south, specifically Kenya in openAI's case. These workers are working in sweatshop conditions for less than 2 bucks USD per hour. I'm on mobile, but if you search 'openAI Kenya slave labor' and related keywords, you can find multiple articles about it.
