i bet it feels good to be an underwater plant just swaying in sync with the flow of water
"Dogfish" by Mary Oliver, from Dream Work
My illustration for the poster of Paris Citypop 2026 !
listen I am all for fidget toys. But we need to go harder. Humans were actually not meant to sit through lectures without using their hands. Fight against the robotification of humanity. Do fibercrafts in your office/classroom/church. You do not need to sit there like the impassable ideal man. Do fibercrafts. Start embroidering at work. Listen to the call of the strings.
I keep seeing artists talk about heavypaint, so I installed the app to see what the fuss was about. here's my first attempt, I'm learning and experimenting as I go, I can see the appeal for sure 😌

personal favorite theme decor from the aquarium today
Image description: [An aquarium exhibit set up to look like a fake laundromat with many pink translucent jellyfish in a tank shaped like a washing machine. There are signs that say “Blue Moon Laundromat,” “Drop off laundry Service,” and “Professional Dry cleaning services.” The second image is a gif of the jellyfish moving in the dark blue water. ]
thinking about how ursula k leguin said "what goes too long unchanged destroys itself. The forest is forever because it dies and dies and so lives" and how everyday i wake up slightly different and i can feel myself shed the skin of who i used to be slowly, slowly, until i look back and can scarcely recognise who i was... but also she is still a part of me, part of the leaf litter and the humus, supporting me as i send new roots down and new leaves stretching up to the sunlight
HEARTBREAKING: friends who i should be going to the movies and playing dnd and watching anime and cosplaying and going to the mall and having sleepovers and exploring the woods with live one hundred trillion miles away
Pūkeko !
How does one hate a country, or love one? […] I know people, I know towns, farms, hills and rivers and rocks, I know how the sun at sunset in autumn falls on the side of a certain plowland in the hills; but what is the sense of giving a boundary to all that, of giving it a name and ceasing to love where the name ceases to apply?
— Ursula K. Le Guin; The Left Hand of Darkness; 1969
It's waterproof. It's windproof. It's lightweight and durable. And it's made from the intestines of two bears, painstakingly cleaned and sew
I really wanted to know more about this, especially how the water proof stitching works. Here's more information on this project, and hopefully more in the future!
This is amazing! I need to make a note to play around with that water proof stitch technology soon.
given the update on the colours of the moon, i thought it would be appropriate to match.
"Glimpsing at the seabed through the water and the complexity of the light within, at a soothing southern sea." By Shigeko Inoue (2002).
Born in 1945, Inoue studied traditional Japanese and Italian woodblock printing. Her work focuses on nature, transparency and the movement of water.
