i need to add because this part is so important to me and also is a question ive been dealing with for a while, which is that this is why the objects migrate to the grasslands. unlike every other movement of the objects we know of in bfdi canon, the move to the grasslands has NO explanation.

with them starting in the plains during BFDI, and them staying there due to the challenge from the speaker box, that part is settled. Their next and honestly most important migration is around BFDIA, with the move to Yoyleland for the episode 5 challenge. We then see throughout BFDIA the objects pack migrating around the world due to (USUALLY) the competition but ultimately still returning to Yoyleland. This does set up the reason we are in Yoyle City for IDFB, even if the exact reason isn't known to us yet. Also worth noting is that the migrations of BFB (Pillary Ruins + Desert) are ALSO both explained through overcrowding / competing values / active competition facors. Anyway, IDFB.

Now the most important part of all of this, which is IDFB and Yoyle City. Yoyle City, despite being abandoned, is a perfectly fine place for the objects to live in long-term. They do not have a reason to leave. There is technology and shelter and systems that are established within this city that they can benefit from without having to create it all themselves. So my question, for MONTHS, has been about why they would ever want to leave Yoyle City, and to me this is answered through EL Overgrowth. They didn't want to leave, more like they had to in order to seal away Evil Leafy. And so without a place of residence for the objects to live in, Yoyleland becomes instantly less hospitable, what with the main food source being Yoyle berries and other factors. So in my mind they take this as a chance to migrate again, back to something familiar, the grasslands. They wouldn't go back to the plains because getting that many objects across the Goiky canal is a pain, but they likely WOULD want something similar, and by all intents and purposes, the grasslands and the plains are identical.

Out of all the cool stuff that mythbusters ever shot on high speed camera, shooting a soccer ball at 60mph out of a truck traveling 60mph is one of my favorites

Just look at it. It is the most perfect visual representation of Newton’s 2nd law of physics I’ve ever seen. The ball, which was shot out of a CANNON, drops straight down. Two equal and opposite velocities completely canceling each other out, leaving the soccer ball to drop to the earth with a net velocity of 0. Sir issac newton would be proud to tears of this gif.

And yet this “myth” is nothing more than basic physics at work. A 10 year old with an interest in science could have told us this is possible. 60mph in one direction minus 60mph the exact opposite direction is 0. Basic.

But what makes this so frieken cool is the fact that they went through all the trouble to actually demonstrate the invisible laws that govern the way our universe works. To get this shot both the soccer ball and the truck had to be moving at the exact same speed. Real world variables make that extremely difficult to pull off. It took them hundreds of attempts to get it right. They went through all that trouble to “prove” something we have known as fact for hundreds of years. And we get this amazing gif to watch as a result.

Mythbusters is incredible. Science is incredible. And the fact that this experiment in physics can be used in science classes for years and years to come to help children learn about physics is incredible.
