So I have been studying abroad for 4 weeks now (and I have 3 more to go before going back home) and I’d say my favorite part so far might be the fact that every single taxi/Uber/Bolt driver I encounter fucking hates Donald Trump and WILL yap about it with me for the duration of the ride as soon as they find out I’m American. And it rules. Also the Eiffel Tower is pretty cool, surprisingly not overrated at all.

When I suggest people go to the doctor for something a lot of them seem to assume I don’t know what it’s like to have doctors that don’t listen to you. Yeah I do actually. I still think you should go to the doctor.

Yeah you shouldn’t have to be incredibly assertive and possibly try multiple doctors to get what you need. But we live in the real world and unfortunately talking about what should be won’t fix your diseases.

You deserve to be treated for what ails you. Act like it. I know it’s difficult. I know from firsthand experience. You still deserve help.

It took me a while but I found a primary care doctor who doesn’t assume that all of my health problems are due to my weight and he’s been so helpful in advocating for me to specialists who won’t listen. Doctors that will listen to you are out there.
