Not treading new ground here, bit it's very telling that the framing is always "should we just turn away men from 'the left' for 'poor phrasing' (misogyny)" and never "should women who want to be on 'the left' have to accept misogyny from their supposed comrades?"
btw if you want to help support the cost of my immigration, medication, & just general price of living then please throw a few bucks my way on paypal or kofi. it is getting nightmarishly expensive to be a disabled trans woman in great britain & i appreciate all the help i can get :-)
i only got two donations btw 😭😭
Fwiw, that Robert trivers email to Epstein is exactly how most tme people talk about futas or femboys or whatever they call their preferred abstraction of trans women in porn.
To be clear when I say “tme” I don’t just mean the child cis dudes. I’m also including the tme fandomites
its not surprising that they think this way, but it is sobering to see rich sex traffickers use the exact same "best of both worlds" line that everybody else does.
it invokes similar feelings to finding out how the two teens who killed brianna ghey texted each other asking whether she was a femboy or a tranny
I cant call it reassuring, but sometimes with the way everyone dismisses the transmisogyny of these common attitudes, its hard not to doubt yourself and think maybe they are right. maybe we are seeing problems where there are none.
But, we can see pretty plainly that the people who abuse and murder trans women talk about us the same way everyone else does. we're not making it all up. it is real.
Data consistently shows that trans women are murdered at higher rates, black trans women in particular, though it remains true across race (eg white trans women are murdered at higher rates than white trans men). Most research that points to trans men being sexually assaulted at higher rates than trans women has abysmally low numbers of trans women subjects that no meaningful conclusions can be drawn. We know that trans women are more likely to be sex workers, which increases the risk of both murder and sexual assault. Research into “detransition” finds both that it more often happens due to losing access to hrt than by choice, and, despite popular belief, that it happens to trans women more. And we also know the first person to accuse Epstein was a young trans girl.
The trivers email didn’t prove anything that isn’t already known. That so many people stick their heads in the ground and tunnel vision to the offhand comments about trans men is infuriating. To claim that it is actually trans men who are at greater risk of all these things despite all the evidence to the contrary should be laughable. And yet
People who have denied transmisogyny in the past continue to do it. The claims are based on nothing but vibes and bioessentialism.
“Sex traffickers gloating about how easy it is to take advantage of trans women is actually proof trans men are the real ones being targeted” should be obviously stupid.
Saying that leaked private emails are what’s being said “loudly publicly” should make it clear that you are not engaging with what’s actually happening.
Help a trans boy escape forced marriage!!
Hi guys! A bit of a different tune from my usual tune but my abusive parents have been getting worse recently, including raising the possibility of marrying me off as soon as I graduate HIGH SCHOOL (I'm 17).
In order to avoid this I'm planning to leave to go to University this year I'll need to be able to pay my way through year 1 before I can apply for estrangement scholarships.
Please help!!!
Support Amir
Yall please help this guy. He's one of my best friends and is also a moron who almost doxxed himself, he will NOT survive forced marriage people 😭😭😭
I swear he's usually smarter tho. He's the reason any of my english posts >200 words make any sense
I just tried to donate and the link took me to the generic Ko-fi page - did the account get taken down or am I doing it wrong?
The account unfortunately got taken down because he's <18, if you want to donate pls redirect to https://ko-fi.com/thatgrassbro on the goal 'amir's university' and it will be forwarded to him
we’re getting to the point where caring about misogyny at all or expecting men to disengage from misogyny and the patriarchy gets you labeled a vile misandrist who doesn’t care about real feminism
Intersectionality, a framework pioneered to discuss the experiences of Black women, gets mangled into “you have to care about men or you’re not being intersectional”
I am mistaken for a trans woman all the time. This has never resulted in any systemic oppression of me, violence directed towards me, or anything resembling the depth of the reality of the transfem experience. I am not transmisogyny affected because I can easily tell someone I'm not transfem and all their biases will literally just disappear. That's what TME privilege is, fundamentally.
I do think that all types of bigotry make the world worse for everyone. Often, bigotry makes the world less safe for everyone. However, there really is a fundamental difference in how something impacts you when you are the intended target vs when you are an incidental target. When cis women are thrown out of the women's restroom for looking like trans women, there will be hundreds of articles and news outlets rallying behind them and the injustice they experienced. Do trans women get the same widespread support? These women will not likely fear using the restroom for the rest of their lives as many trans people do. When cis women are harassed by transphobic authors for participating in sports, they are able to sue for defamation and win...in addition to getting hundreds of news articles supporting them. Do trans women get that support? Do they have legal recourse for that type of harassment? And ultimately, these women can experience transmisogynistic harassment and continue to be transmisogynists themselves. (I remember reading about a TERF who was actually thanked her harasser when she was thrown out of a bathroom... ) Straight people are sometimes physically assaulted just for 'looking gay'. Does that mean that they experience the depth and breadth of the political reality of being a gay person through the rest of their life? Did they have to worry about comphet, being in the closet, getting thrown out of their home, being abandoned by their parents, losing their church, losing out on jobs and on and on? I may sometimes experience slurs intended for trans women. I may experience some of the dirty looks. I wouldn't put it as out of the question that I could be physically assaulted...either for homophobic or transmisogynistic reasons. But I do not inhabit the day-to-day political reality of trans women, or women in general. I do not know what it is like to have my entire being contorted into the brutal shape that manhood demands when it doesn't fit. I do not get street harassed. I do not lose out on job opportunities, raises or promotions. (I get more now than I did as a "cis woman"!!!) If someone misgenders me I can get aggressive without being painted as a violent predator. I will never get called out for my weird kinks. I will never receive the type of harassment and stalking that trans women experience. I will never be assumed to be a rapist or a pedophile, just for who I am. I saw firsthand how much worse my trans girlfriend was treated when we left Seattle for vacation than I was. If you can't even acknowledge that women are hurt more by misogyny than men are, if you don't want to do something about that, then we don't have anything to talk about.
EVERYONE GET MORE FEMINIST NOW
EVERYONE GET FEMINIST NOW 😭😭
Downplaying the way trans women are large targets of sex trafficking is in fact rape culture.
bringing my tags up
discussion of rape and especially sexually the way transfems are treated as unrapable is really triggering my sexual trauma the past couple days
Ay if you Black and trans and still on here reblog this with a comment and/or your pay links rq. I wanna follow yall and I want nonblack people to pay us.

while im here, heres an article i wrote on how nonblack people can be less performative activists. specific to my area but relevant regardless
So in the Epstein files we see that numerous trans women and girls were assaulted by that fucker and his cronies, and also JK Rowling was quite buddy-buddy with him well after his status as a rapist pedophile was a well known point if fact.
Every accusation a confession.
The reason why I stress giving transfems grace and benefits of doubt is because I think one of the biggest privileges that I noticed I have that transfems do not is that people seem to take the things I say in much better faith than other transfeminists. Even though I’m saying the same stuff.
Even when someone was stalking my blog and whispering to my partner about how I was problematic, it was more about how I reblogged from ISFF and PBD, Rather than the fact I explicitly spoke in my own posts the same transfeminist talking points.
This is also why I am trying to speak openly about tone policing. Because even though I do try and speak empathically, most of these girls are speaking just as sweetly as me and you are hounding them because of it.
It should be easier for socially stunted girls I think
Yeah this is a great addition to a post about girls by a user with an estrogen pun username. Are you stupid on purpose?
Me when I'm definitely not misogynist
i just. the spice that makes drag so transgressive and femboys so sexual and calling your favorite fictional man "babygirl" fun is transmisogyny.
crossing the line from "male" to "female" is the ultimate gendered taboo in our society, you know it, i know it, we're all acting on it. but when trabs women say "hey we're actually living that transgression and it makes us, specifically, vulnerable" the fun music stops and everyone pretends they dont know what shes talking about.
you stand here enjoying and celebrating and profiting from the aesthetics of transfeminity, all while ignoring the societal hierarchies that make it so enticing. all while rejecting the people most harmed by that stigma.
if you ever wonder why trans women dont like drag or are so mean to femboys or whatever just sit on this and maybe have the barest minimum amount of self reflection.
and i just want to be clear. im not saying drag and femboys are Bad and Must Be Stopped; these are, ultimately, queer expressions, even if they grind my gears. i AM pointing out that everyone knows transfeminity is the ultimate queer taboo, whether they'll admit it to transfeminists. and i AM enraged to know that transfeminine aesthetics can be incredibly profitable for cis men, while trans women are the most impoverished gender demographic bar none.
let me be even more fucking succinct: this is not about whether or not drag and femboys are bad. this is about YOU, the non-transfem reading this, and YOUR relationship to drag queens, femboys, genderfucks, and trans women.
being a trans woman on the Internet is like you say that it's fucked up that there are laws that are designed to expressively target trans women and then some guy you don't know says "nothing that could be done to you is bad enough to call rape" and then no one thinks it's fucked up except for other trans women
okay since there seems to be some confusion about attention and its relation to oppression let me put it this way.
you know how a lot of resources for SA and DV are centered around women? because they're the most likely victims, and victims who are men are less likely to need those resources (more income, more likely to be property owners, etc)? you know how antifeminists took this and used it to say men are oppressed because they lack resources and attention? you know how a lot of media coverage for crime unfairly focuses on Black people due to a mix of systemic racism and classism? how even school shootings are blamed on POC despite disproportionately being commit by white perpetrators? you know how racists took BLM and tried to have "white/all lives matter"? because they were upset they werent the center of attention? okay so now when we look at trans women, who are disproportionately blamed for sex crimes, primarily the ones being depicted as evil and sinister, and the primary targets of transmisogny, who are paid significantly less than all other trans demographics, and see how a lot of transfeminists focus on trans women in particular, do you think its an appropriate response to go and say "we're all faggots in the eyes of the state"? or to say that "nobody cares about trans men, we're invisible, everyone only ever talks about trans women", as though that is a slight against you, and not the women in question? Do you think its appropriate to create an alternative oppression based in anti-maleness, whether androphobia or misandry?
Do you not see how that is doing the same things again? do you just fundamentally not understand any of these other issues either? or do you understand and choose to act this way anyway because its beneficial to you?
wanna start adding "this post is about transgender women and transgender women only" to my posts but that's dumb lol
I like to imagine I don't start shit over petty nonsense but oh man I'm at a point in my life where I only get more and more mad inside about the thousand cuts of transmisogyny and how little I can do about it. so every time I post something intending to express love toward trans women specifically and some man just has to go "and men too!" it does actually piss me off! it does! posting is free you can go make your own post! the words I said were about women! you can't just rewrite them to make them about men!
