I made a post about Artemis fowl, basically I decided, against my better judgement to watch the movie adaptation of Artemis fowl, aka my entire childhood. So I actually am making this as I watch it, Everytime I see an inconsistency I will pause it, take a picture, and then find in the book one or more example of why that is wrong. If you haven't seen part one

You should probably see part one first, and now onto the rest.

9. Root is a women, now I know that it has been mentioned by a lot of people but I had to say it being a man was actually important to the story because, Holly was the first female so she constantly had to prove herself, People were always looking at her, she had to "prove herself" she had to be better then the guys and was constantly getting criticized more and felt the pressure along with the unfairness of being the first girl, but if root's a girl, well then a female would've been one of the best commanders and a person who has not only been through Holly's job already but managed over the years to get one of the higher position. So having root be a women will probably downplay Holly's story by a lot and they probably aren't gonna focus on that issue and even if they do it's not as important as it was in the books. As a little kid reading this, this is what introduced me to the world of realizing the reality a lot of women face in the workplace, this would've been great to include in the movie

10. Oh you have a new lead Holly? That's funny because he's dead. So I don't know what new lead you have on him.

11. Juliet is 12 and his niece?? That is such a dumb change to make?? In the books she was his sister and a few years older then artemis

12. Here, Artemis knew Holly would be at the oak tree because his dad had written that a fairy periodcally goes there. So in the book it was complete accident. In fact Artemis and Butler did 4 months of stakeout until they finally found Holly, who was there by complete coincidence. She was only there because root had realized she had no magic and had almost cost them the mission so she was sent over there to refuel her magic after 4 years of not doing the ritual.

13. Why isn't Holly shielded?? She's flying around in plain sight and isn't shielded, she would definitely be fired for that.

14. So let's start with the fact that Holly was supposed to be waiting for retrieval and wasn't actually supposed to fight the troll and the only reason she did end up going toe to toe with a troll was disobeying root, unlike in the movie where she was just sent to fight a troll (which is supposed to be near impossible and considered a suicide mission)

also she was supposed to be shielded and she was most definitely not screaming and purposefully calling attention to herself in the books since you're supposed to do these kind of things without humans noticing,

But also, the time stop, in the books it's something you only use in extreme emergencies because of how noticeable and delicate it is.

Ok so I decided, against my better judgement to watch the movie adaptation of Artemis fowl, aka my entire childhood. So I actually am making this as a watch it, Everytime I see an inconsistency I will pause it, take a picture, and then find in the book one or more example of why that is wrong. Before we start I want to say two things, first please do not harrash the actors, some of them are actual children and even the adults are just doing their job, it's not their fault the movie had inconsistencies. Second, I will be mostly talking about major changes made that aren't the plot. At the end I may talk about the actual plot to the movie if it was bad enough or different enough to the book, but for the beginning it will be away from the plot things, I will try to refrain from nitpick though.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON

1. I already expected this from the trailer but I still had to include it. Why the fuck is he surfing??

He isn't just surfing either. He's straight up doing cool and complicated tricks and flips.

2. As a lot of people guessed from the trailers Artemis' mother, Angeline, is dead.

Obviously she's alive in all of the books. And not only that but she's the reason Artemis gives Holly back half the gold. We even have a important moment to his character where he has to decide between his fortune and his mother as seen in the passage above.

Again?? Why is this kid doing cool tricks In the air?? This is extremely against his character!

4. His dad is still here. His dad is supposed to have been missing presumed dead for around 2 years at this point. He's doing all of this because his dad went missing! There's even a scene in the first book where he forced himself to turn off the TV he keeps on at all times to see if his father has returned, it's a pretty emotional moment and important to his character.

5. Ok so Artemis fowl senior apparently taught Artemis everything about the fairies?

Yea no. Artemis found all of that out by himself after his father had disapeared, he found out by doing some internet surfing (note, not actual surfing.)

6. Also his dad seems like a caring, carefree, kind dad to Artemis and for the most part seems chill and "shared his passions with his sons"? Like look at this picture, it looks like an ad for fathers day or something! Definitely not the very formal man who spoke to his son like he was a buisness partner that he was in the books. I mean In this passage I got from the books he's setting up appointments to see his son by email, so they can discuss buisness, and he shakes his son's hand. And his son was 10 at the time!

7. They are using butler's first name?!?! How dare they?!! You do NOT use butler's first name. Nobody called him Dom or domovoi except Artemis and juliet and that was maybe twice each throughout the entire series!

8. So... Artemis In the book knew his dad was a criminal... So... I don't know what else to say except. No. stop. For the love of God please stop the movie, please tell whoever made this movie to go pick up a book.

And I am only 22 minutes into this movie and have already gotten mad and frustrated and have been pausing to complain every few minutes resulting in me trying to watch this movie for the past 3 hours and only getting 22 minutes in. And I've reached the limit of pictures. And that's not even counting things like, Artemis calls his dad "dad" instead of father even though in the books he says it's infantile to call his parents mom and dad, which is something that upsets his mother. Artemis wears regular clothes even though in the books he wears a suit and HATES the idea of wearing regular jeans and t-shirt, even though his mother insists that he should. And even small details like the fact that the ship is called the "owl star" instead of "fowl star" I mean it's a letter! How'd they mess that up?? It's the main character's name! Did the director not see the F??

So far I like mulch and that's basically it. Anyway what are your thoughts? Would love to hear how other Artemis fowl fans took it.

She's making them consultants... She's giving to eleven year olds a important job when she barely even knows them? Like I know artemis worked as Holly's consultant but that was just holly not the lep. Here since lazuli is working under the lep any info given by them the lep will use and it's very out of character for them to trust humans especially fowl humans and it's out of character for her not to tell the lep. Also artemis got the job after years of building up trust with holly. Lazuli barely knows these two.

Aww! They did a family movie night! And they invited butler! That's adorable. I know butler probably used the excuse of he has to stay by artemis' side at all times but like I like to thinks artemis and the twins just invited him cause let's be honest he's family. Also I really want someone to draw this, just artemis and the twins on the floor laughing, while butler sat down next to them (looking huge compared to them) with a very small smile while their parents sit on the couch trying not to sleep. Good to know In this chaotic, insane family, they have some normal family moments

Honestly true. As annoying as artemis could be and as patronizing as he could be a lot of people did end up earning his respect. Holly, foaly and even mulch he showed a certain amount of respect too, people just had to earn artemis' respect, while Myles doesn't give a fuck how smart your are how talented you are, your rank, position, experience, it seems impossible to earn any amount of respect from him, he thinks very little of literally everyone. Even artemis who is extremely intelligent he seems to look down on, don't get me wrong, myles adores both his brothers and that's very evident in the way he talks about them and thinks about them but he still thinks little of them and thinks they're both dumb and doesn't give either respect and patronizes and is very condescending to both of them, again despite artemis being a literal genius with much more experience then myles. Which is very different from artemis, I mean if artemis respected you or even cared about you he treated you much better then myles would. Even people he didn't think were on his level intelligence wise he gave respect to like butler, juliet, his parents, mulch, root, hell even his little brothers who were literal toddlers he didn't talk down to like he would a stranger or someone he doesn't like. Myles doesn't have that. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done, he'll talk down to you and think little of you.

The worse part is artemis probably did expect this type of behavior from myles, even if he didn't approve or thought it was wrong he knew myles would do it anyway. Imagine you go off on a giant project to learn more about the world and your little brothers who's like 14-17 years younger then you just takes your credit card. Also who's paying it back? Myles has no money of his own. He has no job and unlike artemis who at least was a part of the family business and made money out of it, myles isn't. So is artemis having to pay for whatever his little brother does, including buying expensive custom made suits, while he's in space?

This is what I hate about spins offs. They depend to much on the original. Why can't the author or director or whatever just focus on making a good product thats about these characters you've seen before but a different age and in their own adventure? Why do they have to make constant references to the original. Just do your own thing. This just seems so unnatural and cringe and weird. Like did we really need that reference to the line that was said back in the first Artemis fowl book?? Like don't get me wrong that line made me laugh but it was because it made sense. Here it makes no sense. Who would say that? That line is so unnatural and awkward and clearly just the author going "hey! Hey! Remeber that line?! From the original?! Remeber the original?! Please give me money."

Myles is such a little shit tbh. Like imagine you're a genius, like a certified genius, with like a shit ton of life experience cause you've been through hell and back and you've seen death mutiple times and have been traumatized and saved the world multiple times and been close to death to many times to count have seen your mother go into insanity and your father die. So you're just done with life at this point, you're just a tired person. And you go to a university to give a lecture because you're a certified genius with three doctorates, and you're little brother who's like 15-18 years younger then you (depending on whether you think legally or physically) right, he's like 6 years old or something and he sneaks into the audience and starts like bullying you from the audience and insulting your scientific theory. And then you go to space and he sends you a message insulting you and your theory as your on way you to mars. Like. I would not be able to handle a brother like myles, artemis must be the most patient man on the planet to deal with him on a daily basis for years and never hurt him. Would've turned that rocket ship around to slap him. Maybe that's what his whole development lead to in the books. Maybe all the growth he went through was to help him not physically or emotionally destroy his little brother. I like to think if artemis had have to deal with myles when he was 12 he would've been verbally bullying him all the time while now he's just like tiredly nodding along like "yea ok."

Holy shit. Myles is crazy. He's like "I'll prove I was right! I'll show em! I'll show em all!" Proceeds to destroy a building to prove his theory. I know no one got hurt or at least according to the books but he didn't know that.

Ok artemis smiling more when he thinks of his little brothers greeting him is adorable. Artemis with the twins reminds me of a picture I saw a long time ago where someone was holding a grumpy serious cat and a goofy golden retriever and was like "this is my grumpy asshole, and my idiot. I love them both so much" and I really want like a picture of artemis hugging the twins with myles looking like he gonna punch someone and beckett just with a goofy grin with that caption cause honestly

Kind of don't like that they keep saying this. Like first, don't keep saying like "fowls are friends with fairies" when it's really only the one fowl and the like 3 fairies. Like artemis is the only fowl to ever befriend or help fairies. Also stop saying friends forever artemis fowl the second would never say that and it reminds me to much of the movie. Also it has not been long it's been a few years, not even a generation. Like I guess he's just trying to emphasize the points so his brothers don't like try to make enemies with these fairies but it's still bothering me. Also don't just trust every single fairy. Fairies have tried killing you. And you do have magical enemies so like

Alright artemis being a cute protective brother and myles being a little shit like "god we could only die. Stop being so emotional brother." Is the content I wanted. Why can't artemis be in the books? Like I just want some good sibling interactions. Also like artemis is around 10 years older then the twins. I know technically he's older because of the fifth book but he must feel around ten years older then them. He was 14 when he first met them and they were toddlers. Plus his parents seem to never be around, basically every time we see the twins they're home alone or with juliet or artemis or something. So he must've felt super protective of them, especially considering he went through so much trauma himself he would've wanted to prevent his little brothers from going through that. Like the few scenes we get with him and the twins in the artemis fowl series and this book is nothing but him being a very protective care giver. The very first scene with him and the twins, this is literal weeks after him meeting them, he's teaching them stuff and finger painting with them despite him hate doing messy or childish things, and he also programs myles toy monkey to have phrases and respond to myles. This is a little bit after he meets them meaning that he basically came home after 4 years of his life gone. He literally lost four years of his life he will never get back. Found out his parents immediately had children (I would've felt like they had replaced me.) And that he had two little brothers. And his immidete reaction was to make sure they were happy and to play with them and teach them new things and make toys for them. Like damn. Then in the 7th book he tells his mother that this will the last adventure and then he'll spend more time with the twins. Not "I'll spend more time on my education" not "more time with the family" more time with the TWINS, specifically his little brothers. Then in the 8th book despite usually being a serious person who tries to stay away from emotional reactions and stick to logic and reason, even when butler gets shot although he's very upset he forces himself to not cry and to immediately find a solution while in the 8th book he finds out his little brothers are in trouble, and immediately takes off for the house despite knowing he's running into danger and that there's probably safer ways to solve this if he stopped to think. Then he abandons all logic when faced with his brothers being possesed and even forgets the problem in front of him, of there being basically zombies in his house, because he's to focused on myles holding a sharp object and hurting himself. We then find out he got a customized fairy chair specifically made for his little brother and also knows his brothers favorite drink and exactly how to make it and serves it to him to comfort him from the recent possession. Then in this book we find out he made the NANNI system for his brothers to keep them safe, connected it to myle's glasses, gave him a laser but not a strong one because he was scared of his little brother hurting himself or others by accident, had a bonding moment with his little brother working on the NANNI system with him, and told them bed time stories of his adventures. Like it's adorable. Especially when you see someone so professional and serious and formal like artemis acting like this

I just wish we could see him interacting with them in person

Wait... Did these people investigate opal?? Opal was posing as the daughter of the Italian industrialist, Giovanni Zito, so like...

But wait. I thought this organization was recently made, like back when the 8th book happened and the "big dark" took place. That was when humans started noticing fairies and it was implied that's the reason this organization was created in the first place. Opal posed as Giovanni's daughter in the fourth book which takes place a good 5 years before the 8th book. So like... What? And she was captured by the lep by the end of the 4th book so when did they have the chance to do this?? And while we're on the subject! Something that's been bothering me is how the fuck did she not realize artemis and butler have had several run in with fairies?? Like they've been investigating fowl manors for years and the residents within them and they haven't noticed several facts that would point toward them having several run in with magic? like how about spiro and blunt, you're telling me neither of them talked about artemis fowl and butler, like butler "haunting" blunt or artemis turning invisible right in front of spiro. Sure at the time people would've dismissed it as then being crazy and desperate but wouldn't these people have investigated that shit? Or how about the fact that artemis went missing for four years and then came back out if nowhere one day looking the exact same age as when he left? Or that there was new reports of a boy who was described like artemis, and a demon appeared and then disappeared randomly out of thin air and then there was a mosaic that's a hundred years old with artemis fowl so clearly painted on it. Or how about the fact that artemis DIED and then came back 6 months later as if nothing had happened?? Like. They knew beckett could do a certain kind of punch and about opal who had literally nothing that could've given her away but none of that other shit??

This poor man has already fought, fairies, goblins, dwarfs, and trolls trying to protect this boy and now he'll probably fight aliens. This kid has dragged all over the world and under it and now he's taking him to another planet I feel so bad for butler. Give this man a break.

Also speaking of butlers can we talk about the fact that the fowl twins don't have one?? Like I know the twins are supposed to have a normal life and childhood and that the family had given up crime but like people are still after you and your family. And you KNOW this because you prepared the twins for a deadly situation where they get taken as hostages and people try to kill them. Like for artemis they gave him a personal bodyguard who's with him 24/7 who has mastered several types of fighting styles and has been groomed to serve him since he was a child but the twins get fake birthmarks?? Kind of shitty. Like I get butler is still with artemis and juliet wouldn't take that job but you didn't get anyone else? Seriously?

This reminds me of when foaly overtook the cube in the third book and pretended to be the cube and it's also kind of weird that NANNI just suddenly developed a personality in the beginning of the book according to myles it wasn't like this before, it's probably not but it would be funny if for some reason foaly has taken over and is keeping an eye on them and helping them out

Always the good guys? What about the crazy pixie who tried to murder your brother like 5 times? Or the sprite twins who helped her? Or the fairy, cudegeon, who also tried to like destroy the world and murder him? Or the one dude from the seventh book, like granted he was just trying to save his wife but like his plan still involved murdering artemis and the gang. Like there were plenty of magical bad guys.

I basically decided to blindly read the fowl twins and react to it and talk about while also sprinkling in some memes

Ok I love artemis. I know he became a good guy by the end. I know he sacrificed himself but saying him and fairies are friends is a giant stretch. Like even by the end of the series, the lep didn't like, majority of general fairy population didn't like him or trust him, the lep commanders didn't like him or trust him, he just became friends with holly, mulch and foaly specifically that is three fairies. Like you kidnapped a fairy, a lep captain no less, stole their technology and let some evil criminal take it and almost got all fairies killed, literally everytime the end of the world was happening you were involved somehow, someway. They were living a very peaceful life until you specifically got involved. There are literal parts in the series where something horrible is going down, the world will end if they don't do something and like 5 characters all go "probably has something to do with artemis fowl" and they were right, every single time. Like most fairies don't trust or like you artemis.

This fucker titled his stories. Like in canon artemis not only told the story of what he did, like the entire 8 booked long story which is needlessly long for a child's bed time story but also titles them. He didn't just say "oh this is the second one" he went "I'm going to name my adventures. This one shall be dramatically called the artic incident" like imagine if you're telling someone something that personally happened to you and you titled it.

Also since it's canon that he told them every story did he also include the whole, him kidnapping someone, stealing and basically sacrificing a lemur, butler holly and him dying, like did he inlcude everything or...

The fact that myles just blurts this out when he's shocked implies that he's very use to saying it and it just comes out naturally so I like to think artemis became accustomed to using it after spending so many years hearing all his friends saying it he just kind of started saying it and myles heard him saying it and started copying him. Meaning there's just two humans in the world, one being a child, cursing in fairy which I find hilarious

Ok. Guys please no spoilers, please don't tell me if I'm right or wrong but so far we haven't gotten lazuli's mentor's name, we just know she has a mentor who's a girl and that she has told lazuli to always trust artemis fowl and follow his instructions without question, and that she had a friend who was rarely wrong, who told her gold is power. It's holly. Like calling it right now. If they just had the line with always trust artemis fowl, I'd let it slide as, lep are often told this since they're training on his island and probably will encounter him, possibly during a life of death situation so they should probably know to trust him and listen to him. But artemis fowl had very few people and even less fairies who would consider him a friend, and they're definitely referring to artemis here. Like "gold is power" is literally his family motto and something he often said in the first few books, plus the "he was wrong for once" implying it was a friend who was rarely wrong. Like it's holly talking about artemis. Calling it right now.

I will say I think myles is much more immature then artemis. He's trying way to hard to be "adult" and that's a very childish trait. Artemis was like that due to trauma. He was forced as a child to refer to his dad as "father" and be professional, even setting up appointments via email to see his father and have "buisness meetings" when he was 10. He had to greet his father with a formal, firm handshake. And he wore a suit after his father was proclaimed missing assumed dead, due to the trauma of loosing his father and having been brainwashed by his father that he was to be the "man of the house" and take charge and be in control of the finances and the manor. He stole the lemur and even kidnapped holly due to the last words his father ever told him was talking about how he had to save the family and make sure they're money didn't go. He had to watch his family's money go down until they didn't even have enough to pay for any staff including butler (which by the way it is mentioned butler continues to be with artemis without pay for a bit and I'm telling you he doesn't see that as a job. He was going to take care of that child money or no money) and watch his mother go into insanity along with deal with his father being probably dead. That stuff changed him. He was always a genius but his childhood how he was raised and what happened is what made him into the suit wearing, mature, almost adult like, person we see in the books. He was forced to grow up. He doesnt act like this because he doesn't want to be childish hell we even see him in the 6th book wishing he could've had a normal childhood and had, had the chance to be childish.

But myles wears a suit just to copy his brother and disregards childish things just because. There's really no reason other then he believes genius=adult. He seems very immature and very childish. This is one of the reasons I wanted to see artemis in the books. Wouldn't it be fascinating to see him talk to his brother in the second or third book and explain to him why what he was doing was childish. And why myles had to learn to grow up and embrace who he is and what he likes instead of just acting like what he thought was the "proper adult" myles even tries to be someone he's not. He makes the comment that he shouldn't be so "dramatic" because it's the "enemy of science" but that's part of who he is. Even artemis never denied that part of himself. He was a dramatic little shit and not only aknowleded it several times but truly loved that part of himself. Because artemis was never trying to be an adult or mature he just was like that due to his life. I'd love to see artemis and myles talk and see this interaction but I guess we won't. Still salty about that.

I just find it cute that artemis was like "sure y'all can just fly around my house and train :)" the lep are like "we create zones far away from human civilization where fairies can we can train and fly around. Oh and there's one by the house of the guy who kidnapped one of us. Yea he caused some chaos in our life for a few years and anytime the end of the world was happening it was safe to assume he was somewhere nearby and yea we had no problems until he came and caused all the problems but he also like saved us a bunch of time so we're good now. We spy on him, he spies on us. he uses our technology, we train around his house. He's our bud." Like you guys have a very weird relationship

Ok. So I've just been introduced to our magical main character... And it's a hybrid (very interesting. I did wonder while reading the original if they were ever going to address like fairies and pixies or something coming together to have a baby because I mean you can't tell me that never happened. So I'm glad they're actually addressing that here and giving some information on it) named lazuli. And she's blue. A blue skinned girl who can fly named lazuli... I'm just going to tell you guys right now all I'm gonna see in my head every single time I imagine this character is

I'm really glad they're going over the different perspectives on artemis fowl. Like some people would trust him like he has saved countless lives due to his quick thinking and did become a good guy by the end and has helped fairies more then hurt them and even sacrificed himself for them. But some people wouldn't. At the end of the day he did kidnap a fairy, steal fairy technology which then got stolen by a horrible person who could've destroyed fairy civilization, manipulate and trick his way into getting a copy of their sacred book and put them in danger multiple times. I've seen a post talking about how fairies would view artemis after the series that I really liked over here plus some amazing art on it over here

Definitely give those a look but this reminded me of those

Myles is such a little shit and I love it. This is definitely the type of prank artemis fowl's little brother would play. Also would love to imagine one day artemis if in space and realizes what his code means and realizes what myles did and just in the middle of space butler can see his face go like

I will say I didn't like that they kind of dumbed up beckett. Like I thought he was going to be like butler or mulch, like not the smartest person In the room (to be fair the other ones in the room are foaly, artemis and myles. All certified geniuses) but still really smart and clever and able to keep up and think of their own plans. Like this is the kid who at 4 years old tricked his genius twin brother into giving him the code to open Artemis' room and sneak around. The kid who again at four years old was able to listen to butler, learn a move and perfect it to use his body's momentum to stun opal even if it was only temporarily. Like he was a clever and smart kid at 4 and for the most part able to keep up with his twin brother. His personality and interests may haven been very different and he may not have been a genius but that wasn't to say he was dumb either. He also doesn't even act or sound like an 11 year old. I've dealt with a lot of kids and beckett is behaving more like a 5 year old. I understand him not acting like artemis who was forced to grow up and mature, or myles whos trying really hard to act grown up and is very intelligent, but I was expecting a clever 11 year old, not a cosmo from fairly odd parents type of character. I'm still in the first few chapters so maybe we'll see him shine later but so far I'd like to see more of beckett's intelligence.

Now the original reason I was rereading the books was because I was prepping up to read the fowl twins so I figured since I'm already reading it might as well keep this going and keep making memes but I also realized since

1. This is the first time I am ever reading it

2. It's the sequel/spin off to my child hood book series

I would want to talk about some parts and not just make memes. plus I've always liked just having my reactions to things, I'll usually pause a show or movie or stop reading to take a picture and talk about what I thought of whatever I thought was worth mentioning, I've done it for episodes in shows I like along with the artemis fowl movie back over in my main blog. I know I usually do memes but I hope you like this.

this should be fun since I'm going into this completely blind but yeah. I was really excited for this I absolutely adored the twins in the artemis fowl books as some of you may know, I am sad they yeeted artemis off to mars which is basically the only thing I know about this book I've been trying very hard to avoid spoilers.

Anyway on to the memes/review/reaction thing

Wow ok we are off to a bizarre start. Myles and beckett haven't even entered the story and we already got our antagonist chopping off fingers. Also imagine you're talking to some dude who's trying to live forever and you're like "I'll help you" and he cuts off your fucking pinky out of nowhere.

Love how artemis straight up went into space before anyone could stop him or bother him about it.

Also the fact that he built it in the barn. The same place he built the laser in the 8th book while he was supposed to be exercising makes me think he built this while he was supposed to be exercising, he launched himself as butler came in to yell at him

Also kind of mad. Like eoin colfer sent him on a FIVE YEAR space mission?? Like I completely understand wanting to keep the main characters out of the way at first to like avoid having them upstage or divert attention away from your new characters that you're trying to develop but I understand that in the first book or two. I thought at some point we would have some of the main characters from the original show up. I really wanted to see adult artemis, see how he's changed and developed and grown. I mean last time we saw him he went through the traumatic experience of DYING. And I really wanted to see him interact with the twins. We got him with the twins in the last book and 6th book and it was fun seeing him be a protective older brother who the twins adored but still teased mercilessly. But back then the twins were toddlers! I want to see them older, see how that's developed. Now if we get artemis there'll have to be a pretty big time skip or artemis will have to randomly just come back to earth. They could've just had artemis like move away. Like. He would've been out of the way but could've come back in another book. Even if it's just for a scene or two. And like it's not unrealistic. Artemis at the end of the book had lived 15 years, was legally 18 and was physically like 17 (foaly aged his clone up a bit by accident so he looked older) and the twins were 4, they had just turned 4 and here they just turned 11 meaning artemis would have been alive for 22 years, legally been 25, and looked 24. Legally, physically, emotionally and mentally old enough to live by himself (even if the physical, legal, emotional and mental are all different ages lol) and he probably would want to. He's kind of been traumatized by this family and his old life style it would make sense to want to leave that. I don't know. Got pretty upset at that.

Love how this series has killed off so many characters to only immediately bring them back (holly, butler, opal, artemis, basically everyone except root) that they just spoiled their own series to go "yea we'll kill of these characters and then bring them back" on page 12

Myles honey. You can be a man of science and still be dramatic. Look at your brother. I alread commented on my post from the 5th book about how dramatic as shit and extra artemis is and how he stages everything, from scheming to his actual plans, like a goddamn drama movie. Even how he announced things is dramatic.
